Because politics, exploitative multinational corporations and the media want conflict so there's more "interesting" stories to report about by having us divided and against each other despite the majority of us regardless of cultures having the same goal in life which is wake up with health, wealth and safety. People power always wins but when some of us are sidetracked by sinister motives then it's improbable to seek social/economic justice. 😔
I’ve attended Glastonbury 12 times now, and Michael Eavis gives a lot to charity. He’s a fantastic man and his daughter Emily has picked up the mantle. Long may it continue!
It's weird.....I really WANT to like this band....but I just can't get into their stuff. I honestly wish more of their songs sounded like THIS. This song is perfection.... But it's so short, just an instrumental, and then the rest of the album this is on....feels like a let down after something this good. Can anyone recommend songs of theirs that are as good as this?
Wayyyy out my genre but when I heard this I was like this is MUSICCC to my ears luv everything about this from the beat and so onnn everything is so on point

Because their music is shit largely. The got lucky with this ''tune'' with all the tv and film coverage it got. It kinda then made it iconic... The only other song that I think is good is VCR and that kinda has the same story.
They actually sound like a band that hasn't learned their instruments completely yet. It still works, but you can really hear the limitations when you listen to their songs. I really hate sounding critical but it's true.
@@danieltheanimal1056 mate, stop being ignorant. You dont have to be john fucking bonham to criticise a music performance. Ive had plenty of shit live shows. I understand its par for the course, but that doesn’t mean the criticism isnt valid.
Watching the local and mayoralty 2024 elections on BBC and all I can think of is this song. The Beeb used it as their electoral theme tune in 2010. I remember the XX playing the tune on Newsnight when they did a special addition on the Saturday after the election.
It’s difficult to stay them in the rhythm 🎵🎼🎹 , as it’s computer 🖥 generated and timed music. Sounds much better in the original than live. However there would be a certain extra magic to playing it live… maybe they’d need to take a real drummer to play those? :) or find another solution? Still, this song is legendary…
@Brooke Gonzalez Good job !! I was in the states around 2012 , However I couldn´t see the movie, anyway I saw in DVD and was awesome! Greetings from Peru.
Is that an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional-III the long haired one is plahing? I own that guitar in the same color and pattern. And yes I see that it says Gibson, but that’s my guitar!
I watched their 2010 Glastonbury performance and thought it was just a newly started band - but in 2017 after 7-8 years they still can’t keep up the rhythm! Come on! Get an acoustic drummer, or find another solution - this a legendary song! 🎵🎼🎹
To all y’all dissing this performance let me illuminate you: it’s exceedingly hard to come out onto stage and play your best song first. Often your sound engineer is hustling to get the mix dialed in, you are overhyped with adrenaline coming onto stage in front of a massive audience - Hence the drummer rushing. Try walking a mile in these guys’ shoes. It ain’t easy. This version is spot on and sounds better. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9f__FGEfQ14.html
