A quick drone camera video shot of a typical steep banking on the Yorkshire Dales where you sometimes find way too many holes to put purse nets down and long nets are a long hard carry when your working alone and you've got to carry all of the gear a long way to get up there.
So I have my two old lurchers and two hob ferrets and no nets travelling lightly and hopefully returning heavily loaded.
Also notice the ferret follow me to where the dogs are marking the warren, He knows the dogs mark 100% true and if they say there is one there, It's a good starting point of entry. I have seen that ferret go across 100 yards of a field over multiple warrens following a bolted rabbit he's chased out of a warren. The more I worked the team this way over a few seasons, The easier it became to catch them. It all clicked into a 4 way team of all working together and being quite unstoppable in some really tight difficult spots.
This made day to day simple netting and ferreting paid pest control jobs very easy for me and the team. Open warrens on flat ground and normal ground was easy. At one point it got even easier to do a hedgerow with no nets and let the dogs work it alone. I did a certain farmland long hedgerow spot that when netted on a Sunday morning with a couple of lads from the farm usually produced a couple of digs and maybe three to four rabbits and on a great day 6. We had a go with the my two hobs and my two dogs and simply started quietly at the bottom end of the hedge and dropped the hobs in. After a couple of hours and no digs the dogs had caught 11 out of 12 rabbits that bolted up and down the hedge.
One of the lads laughed when I said don't bother netting up and let the dogs work it without any noises and shouting etc. keep it quiet as possible. Don't shout go on lass! when a bunny bolts, let the dogs work it out. To say he was amazed is an understatement. He got himself and Lurcher pup and a hob ferret off me that year.

Thanks. I always chuckle to myself when I hear folk with Dogs and ferrets say... " oh them Dales rabbits are easy " I've seen a few dogs last less than an hour on banking's like this. especially when there's that scree/ slate types stuff in between patches of warrens, That stuff is like razor blades to an over enthusiastic dog.
