Lol! Nah it's fine, the series is just a means of entertainment, I wouldn't look at it like that. The novel is very good actually and goes further into the thoughts of characters that even the anime didn't touch upon at times.
DEEN gets so much shit it ain't even funny. Like yeah the adaptation has alot of holes and flaws but at least they tried. They animated Gil using Enuma Elish raw dogging against excalibur and it was a pretty well done scene.
The one with Shirou in UBW or the one with Artoria in Fate? I personally don't have a problem with either. The only thing with him that bothers me is how he was treated in HF
Soarel been meaning to play the VN. Loved the Heaven movie so now I have a bad feeling. In UBW I hate how he is beaten cause Shiro basically has Gate of Babylon with the whole unlimited weapons thing so they should be on even ground but Gilgamesh got decimated for some reason. Just my take on it though

So, I know this isn't about the video but I feel I needed to bring this up with you. At RTX Kerry said something that concerns me, this is about how Conner Pickens is now a Co Director for RWBY and he's helping Kerry with scenes. Now this concerns me because I feel that Kerry may still try to take control of the animation, and even though Conner has been the Lead Editor since Volume 3 Kerry said that if there's any good scenes assume it's him and that this will be behind the scenes because they don't want you to know who did what. This has concerned me very much and I feel that this is Kerry bringing attention to the fact that he may still try to control the animation. So we may have another repeat of problems with the animation again, and this to me is a pretty scary thought. So I thought I'd tell you if in case you hadn't already heard, or seen it yet. To me this isn't looking too good and I'm very concerned over this because it seems yet again that Kerry by his statement hasn't learned anything from the mistakes of the past two volumes. I could be wrong, but with this information it seems pretty shady yet again.

That sounds awful, I really hope they don't try and take control like you said. Kerry is the one responsible for the "cinematic" fights that have hurt V4-5 so much. Did he mention Joel at all? I would like a clear answer on who is in charge of storyboarding and directing fight scenes now, as it's the most important factor here.
It's no problem, I wasn't notified of your response either so I checked to see if you got it, so it's no problem. No I'm unsure of who may be in charge of the storyboarding or the directing of the fight scenes, and there was no mention of Joel at all. All I know was what I heard from RTX and that was everything I mentioned to you so it's a frightening thought indeed. If you find out anything yourself on your end please let me know, and if I figure anything else out I'll let you know. I'm going to make a discord soon, so it'll be easier to contact me and we can converse back and forth much easier once I have the time. It's been asked by a few people if I could create one so that's what I'm going to do, so it'll allow me to talk to everyone easier. Plus we can at least talk to one another easier about this and other things on there, so I'll let you know when I make the discord. Don't worry even if I get busy I'll always find the time to reply when I can. I would never abandon anyone just because of a busy schedule, it can be a bit stressful at times after a long day, but talking to you and everyone else is the highlight of my day for certain!
FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY: Most of the what I thought about the section we saw in the WIP still applies, since the final version just really added music and proper lighting. The camera could be a bit less erratic and show us a bit more, Ilia is pretty lame, not a big fan of the weapon spin, but it’s a huge step in the right direction. There is a definite rule of cool emphasis, something that was missing in the last two seasons, and it feels much faster than V4-5, though that still needs work (Monty esque blur effects or afterimages to make the characters look like they’re moving faster). I would’ve liked some sort of one on one boss fight after the section we got, though. Watching competent named characters fight is always more interesting than seeing one of them take down mooks. As for the first section we hadn’t seen until now - I have mixed feelings on it. The general concepts are very good, but there’s one glaring problem that sticks out like a sore thumb. every time Adam movies or attacks, he pauses for a split second, as if he’s taking turn-based actions in a JRPG or something. I cannot emphasize enough that this is the sole problem with what they were trying to do here. It doesn’t add more impact like a dramatic slow-mo effect does, it just makes it feel like he has to recharge every time he moves. These split second pauses kill the momentum of what is otherwise a fight that actually flows together. ignoring that big problem for now, the rest of the fight flows together (even if there are one too many reaction shots I doubt that problem is going away anytime soon), and they at least managed to make him feel competent and decently strong even if the speed problem I mentioned before is still there (exacerbated by the half second pauses). Overall, 6/10. Definitely above the garbage fire that was the fights in the last two seasons, but there are still glaring problems that need to be worked on that hold it back from V1-3 greatness. However, if this is the baseline for Joel-controlled fights, that would still be acceptable, as these fights still at least follow basic Monty rules of actions flowing into one another, and have that rule of cool element. This should be where they start, and then they should work to improve on this base by working out issues I mentioned. NARRATIVE: This is actually surprisingly good, especially when held up to the quality standards of V1-3 and when compared to nearly all of V4-5. I’ll get to that in a moment, though. First, let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way - WHY THE FUCK IS SIENNA FIGHTING? Everyone’s already pointed this out, but the facts that she never draws her weapon, gets into a fighting stance, or does anything else to defend herself besides ordering her guards to protect her when she’s attacked in V5, all made it seem like she didn’t have aura and couldn’t fight. However, now it seems she’s been retconned to be able to fight. While her weapon is very cool, and she has a decently interesting fighting style, it makes her death scene incredibly frustrating. With that out of the way, I was surprised with the quality of the writing here. They managed to show a clear narrative progression without relying on hamfisted exposition, were able to convey the discrimination against the Faunus more naturally, and gave us more insight into what was going on between Adam and Blake. Adding the dimension of emotional manipulation and abuse to the equation partially deals with the issue I have with V4+ making it seem like Blake is responsible for her own problems. What I’m most surprised by is Garrett doing a half decent performance. Prior to this, he never got above middle school edgelord levels, but he actually sounds legitimately charismatic and intimidating in the first scene. I hesitate to call him good overall, but he’s finally improving from his hilariously awful performances in the past. I think what I like most about the narrative here is how it gives Adam an actual dimension to his character that provides him with a narrative future. Now, why they decided to give this to Adam I have no idea, but it’s well-written and it works. At the beginning, it seems like he genuinely cares about helping others and improving things, and then we see what actually caused him to change and become the racial supremacist sociopath we’re familiar with from V3E11 onwards. People started seeing him as this messiah figure, and that fed his ego. He might even genuinely think he’s still doing good even when he’s being self-serving. This gives him a clear yet unpredictable path for the future, since he doesn’t have anyone to feed his ego anymore. His organization is gone, he was publicly humiliated, his human allies abandoned him, and nobody follows him. There’s a number of different directions they could go with this, and most of them would be positive for the writing of his character. Overall, 8/10. This prologue managed to tell a more compelling story than all of V5 and most of V4 in 7 minutes and did more for Adam as a character than anything else since V3E11. While Sienna fighting is a problem, the rest is actually really well written and gives Adam’s character an actually interesting future. Let’s hope they don’t fuck it up. Final verdict is 7/10. Fight choreography leaves a lot to be desired, but is a good baseline for the future (provided Joel has more control now). The writing is actually really good in this, and Garrett actually has a decent performance. If not for the inherent macguffin problem with the overarching narrative in V4+, this would give me a lot of hope for improved writing in the future.
I know what your saying about Sienna. Like why? I know she has a weapon since she is a Member of the White Fang, but where was it during her scene with Adam? Was it plot armor so Adam can get the Throne easy? Did she forget it when she woke up? I believe that scene with Adam and Sienna should have been a duel to the death, then Adam kills her, not that scene from that God Awful Volume that I don't want to say because I will be cursed!
