I’ve been told “iF YoU CaN SeE ThE AuDiEnCe tHe aUdIeNcE CaN SeE YoU” one too many times also that last one is accurate although it’s mainly bc you don’t want to damage the screen bc that’s where backdrops are projected and it’s very thin so it’s easy to rip
5:23 theres just smtg so satisfying about highlighting your parts in your script, it’s like your so proud you got that part. I remember when my school did a play, I had all these cute pastel highlighters, and everyone kept asking me to highlight theres parts in there script, and i said yes, even tho I would miss out on my lunch to do it, just cuz It felt so satisfying
lolll. That's a problem my school always has, not enough boys audition. Just cast the girls in the roles! It shouldn't be that hard to find a girl who can sing the roles!
it suckssss!!!!! our brother school doesnt do musicals with us but with the other girls school, and so were stuck over here with an all girls cast! we did Strictly Ballroom this year (male heavy show) so we had girls do it, but it turned out really really good.
I’m a girl, I played Jay in Descendants last year, played Mr. Bernstein from little shop of horrors a couple months ago, and now I’m playing Jud Fry in Oklahoma.
omg the ride the cyclone tiktok at 10:44 had me rolling 💀 also Sam pauly (who plays katherine Howard in six 💅) singing candy store from heathers is exactly what I needed

I would feel so out of place if my mum was the director. At my school production this year (i was in crew btw) the amount of swearing coming from the older kids 😂😂 it would just be awkward with my mum there 😂
My mom directed once apon a mattress jr last spring it was pretty fun though I became the spokes person when it came to talking to the director(mother)
My mom was the costume designer for my dance school growing up. My sisters and I ran props and helped her make the costumes. I also painted a few sets. :-)
That last one! Never touch the freaking cyclorama! Don't even get close! Our tech guy once yelled at a company member on her first day because she was like "what's this thing" and went to touch it. Safe to say she was a bit miffed because she didn't know and she got yelled at.
LITERALY SAME ONE TIME IN REHEARSAL ( thank god it was rehearsal ) I HAD THE ROLE OF TAD AND A SEAGULL. (Play:Nemo the musical) AND RIGHT AFTER FISH ARE FRIENDS NOT FOOD I HAD A SEAGULL PART AND SO I WAS CHANGING ON THE DRESSING ROOM AND I
we had someone in our play doing two roles, and he forgot he was supposed to come back on stage in his first costume, had slick shoes on, and when running to the other side he slipped and started crawling 💀
That first one! I had to do that in my first ever show studying Performing Arts. We had to come off stage and start our scene at the top of the stairs. My scene partner also had to do a whole costume and hair change.😭
THERE WERE SOME OLDER KIDS WHO WERE IN MY PRODUCTION OF THE ADDAMS FAMILY. AND I WAS FESTER AND THEY WERE ALL ANCESTORS. THEY CAME FOR ONE REHERSAL. AND ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW DURING DRESS, THEY WERE TOUCHING MY PROPS, INCLUDING MY UKELELE (WHICH IS MINE, I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE SHOW) AND THEY WERE UNTUNING IT LIKE UH-UH NO YOU ARENT. AND THEY WOULDNT GIVE THE PROPS BACK.
The prop one is to true, I had a friend who was a prop manager SHE DID NOT PLAY one kid was playing with another kids prop mic and full on got into an argument with her about it a true legend
The first one reminds me of when my school did frozen. We had to run off stage, change into a different costume with an over layer, and get back onstage all in about a minute. It was chaos. I loved it
I have a story about the first one. 0:19 so my sister was in legally blonde and the girl who played Elle was singing the song Legally Blonde and after she said “Emmett, there is no reason for me to stay” she ran all the way around the stage during Emmett’s solo and barely made it to the other side before she was supposed to BELT “Back to the sun back to the shore back to what I was before..”
I’m obsessed with theatre right, and I want to audition for a coming up community musical BUT THE THING ISSS I’ve never auditioned before 💀 I’m a decent actor, I just think I’m gonna get judged by the other theatre kids 🥲
Ok so the first one is true. When I was in middle school we did the little mermaid well I had to run out on stage to help with ariels dress transformation in my sea creature outfit the I had like 30 seconds to change for my chef because this was a hour long musical so les passion was next. So I had to change fast then try and run backstage to go to my spoT.
i just got done being an assistant costumer for Mary Poppins Junior, and "children's chaperones in theatre" is SO real :,) it was mostly a lot of kids appearing out of nowhere asking for a specific clothing item you were not told about, that they of course need right this second, while they reference a part of the script that you're completely unaware of
Soo…. Does anybody else know the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie? Because I just watched it and it’s amazing and I need more people to talk about it with.
0:00 one time i had to get to the other side of the stage with a quick change in the span of 1 scene and one night a person was standing blocking me and instead of asking her to move i pushed her because i dont stop for nobody and guess what... i made my que!
Stoppp lmao apparently someone literally took this exact compilation and just reposted it as their own 😭 I'm not that mad because its really not my content to begin with, its just funny to me for some reason lmao
umm i don’t know if it’s a smart idea to run all the way up to your dressing room just for a drink of water when you have a cue in a few seconds but ok 😂
