I think no song was really bad. Not every soundtrack can achieve that, so we Hazbin fans are really lucky. My favorites are "You didnt know" because of Charlie's and Emily's duet (that was so epic) and "Hells greatest Dad" and "More Than Anything" (because Lucifer Fan Girl). ❤

38:17 One detail that lives in my mind rent free about this song is that before it starts, Veggie complains that her long hair is getting in the way and then Carmila lets her own hair down just to show that this is not an excuse for fighting badly.

Something I like about ready for this is after Charlie gets more confident in singing and had most of cannibal town on her side Susan nods in the background and approves, it makes me feel less ‘Oh Susan is just a nuisance’ and more ‘Oh, Susan wanted to make sure Charlie was a competent leader’ just a tiny detail I enjoy

My favorite song is Loser Baby because I love the message and I'm a total fangirl for Keith David's singing! My second favorite is You Didn't Know--specifically Lute's part and her duet with Adam! Her voice actress *DID NOT* have to go so hard for her one scene, but she did and I *ATE. IT. UP!*

My favorite part in loser, baby has to be that line “it’s okay to be a/ cocked up dick sucking hoe/ baby that’s fine by me” like the way Valentino tells angel who to be and where to be 247, and finally angel gets accepted to be whoever he is infront of husk shamelessly was just heartwarming. And to add that the whole song, husk never forced angel into the dance, he just took his hand out, giving angel a choice whether he grabs it or not, and angel always did. Finally, whenever husk and angel danced, he always made sure angel had the spotlight to show off and be his self, like his twirling and sexiness and strength and fun, he let him be the version of himself that isn’t made by Valentino. The version of himself that he keeps to himself that probably he barely knows. But now he can know and even better share that with husk and the others. Knowing that whoever he is, he will never be alone.

The songs are easilythe best part of the show. And "You Didn't Know" is my favorite song by far. Charlie gaining Emily as a supporter in Heaven and seeing them realize and call out Heaven's hypocrisy is so satisfying. Especially when they reuse the melody and rewrite the lyrics of "Hell Is Forever" to do it. That part was pure musical genius.

It's so interesting seeing you go from Danganronpa Character Analysis videos to this. I love both so much. It's so nice seeing you be passionate about these different things!

"Out for Love" ~ By Carmilla is my most favorite song in the show She actually didn't Decide to tell her secret She did it because she saw something in Vaggie that she wanted to tell her to break out of her funk. The song doesn't even have her talking about her Secret she just mentioned that she had no choice but to protect her Daughters. So, she was telling Vaggie that she should fight for Charlie not for herself. Because she is an Angel she was not fighting like she had something to lose. Carmilla literally says "If you really care for her, Fight it out for Love" That's what the song is

Another thing I love about Vox and Alistor's dynamic throughout the show is that its clear that Allistor just lives in Vox's head rent free, and Alistor only cares about Vox when hes bored and wants to clown on him. To Vox its a heated rivalry, to Alistor the tv guy is getting pissy again

my fave song is Poison not just because it sounds good and the story behind it, but because i can personally relate to a lot of the lyrics

Am I the only one who got creepy vibes from the "Welcome to heaven song? They are emphasizing so hard that heaven is happy that you get suspicious, as if they are trying to hide something. It feels like Mable-land from Gravity falls.

I love how your take on Sera's eyes during you didn't know is completely different from what my take was. To me it was less her trying convince herself that it was the right thing, and more that she was trying to make herself seem like she was not as complicit as she was. The flames in here eyes felt more like her zeal for the removal of all sinners, almost as if she would be right there with the exterminators if she wasn't such a public figure.

3:49 - "I feel that stories are only as good as their villains are." It is a heck of a lot easier to have a great story with a boring hero and a fascinating villain than the opposite. Having both be good is best, of course, and it's possible to have a good story with a featureless baddie, but to a first approximation, you're bang on the money here. (Speaking, in this case, from the perspective of a TTRPG GM, but it's a cross-media truism.)

I’ve also never been a fan of toxic postivity. Especially the times when you feel bad and all someone else does is give you a pat on the back and say “it’ll be fine, it’s not that bad”. Completely devaluing my feelings and what im going through right then, making me feel horrible. They don’t know what i was going through or how i felt, and have someone basically act like im just being dramatic, is not it. Especially the “it’ll be fine” sometimes in that dark place, it’s hard to see that light in the end of the tunnel. It’s hard to ever see if there is a way out of that hell. And ppl chirping the same line with no real help out of the situation just makes me frustrated. It’s not helping. In my personal experience, having someone understand what im going through or be someone who can actively change my mood when i feel down. Is far more helpful. The best medicine for sadness is laugher. And having that one thing, or person that can make you laugh and forget about your worries for just one moment, creates an escape that makes it easier to power through the hard stuff you are experiencing. Not everything is bad if there is something good and happy that you look forward to. Be the one light in the dark. A simple pat on the back and “it’s not that bad” or “it’ll be fine” doesn’t work for everyone or give them that motivation to keep going. And im always happy when we give awareness on how not everyone works the same way, and that not everything is the same for everyone. ❤️

I really really liked Angel and Vaggie's harmony when they just say, of all things, "Can't we just kill him? Shoot him and spill his blood?" XD (and of course Sir Pentious being overdramatic ha ha)

I kind of understood Carmilla caving as easily as she did, not because she was really swayed by Vaggie, but because out of literally everyone in heaven and hell, she's one of 3 people who definitely should've already known. Vaggie lost her eye to an angelic weapon, so she just needed to stop for half a second and think. With that in mind, I felt the whole discussion from Carmilla's side was less "what's the secret weapon" and more about whether it was worth supplying more of them.

Alastor vs Vox is halarious as a whole. One of my fave parts is the little details you can get in pause if you read the text. The bottom scroll in the news section is Vox essentially rambling about how much he doesn't really care he's back and the error message when he bluscreens is just gold.

an interesting detail for poison could have a more literal meaning, as it seems the smoke and saliva that val produces may have an effect on angel, since some key scenes when val is abusing him shows vals pink smoke or saliva on or surrounding angel

I interpret the use of the word "posion" in the song to be Valentino's saliva, you can see at the end of the song how Angel wipes from his lip this redish substance which is the same as Val's saliva. Scientifically moths are know to hold special saliva, in this case Val uses it to control and force Angel to "swallow up" his posion and make him do what he wants. Previously on helluva boss Asmodeus mentioned a "love potion". Jumping back to Hazbin, the love potion can be seen by a lone shark that has the same red color and produces red hearts. The shark then tried to drug Angel with it in his drink.

Alastor was also petty because Lucifer treated him like a nobody when he mentioned his radio show. He showed similar, but brief emotions to Carmilla when he asked if they all had been wondering where he was for the last 7 years and Carmilla responded with "Not really, but welcome back in any case"

The poison song made me love Angel too. I really like how Hazbin shows the realism of what Angel has been through. A lot of shows dance around the topic and only imply it, but this really shows the trauma Angel has been through. When Angel is singing the “ooh” parts of the song I can really hear the pain he is going through. It bothers me that some people hate Angel for the way he behaves around Husk because characters like Blitz from Helluva harasses Moxxie all the time yet no one seems to be bothered by it the same way. My sibling pointed out the fiddle reference to me in the song 😊 I agree that Welcome to Heaven wasn’t my favourite but I liked the actor who played Peter, he was a lead in Glee.

I feel like Alastor WAS being insecure in Hells Greatest Dad cause he feels threatened by Lucifers presence in the hotel since Lucifer is so much more powerful than him so he’s trying to one up Lucifer by using his “connection” with Charlie instead of using his power since he knows he doesn’t win in that department

Having St. Peter sing "Welcome to Heaven" is down to it being his job as the angel that welcomes souls into Heaven through the "Pearly Gates"

It's not made clear in the show, but behind the scenes notes indicate that Val is *literally* drugging Angel with pheremones (the pink smoke). He does this to all his "stars". There's a line in another ep where he suggests "just put something inside them...that's how I do it" to another of the Vees. That's what he's referring to. Also, the drug that the sawfish demon puts in Angel's drink at the bar is distilled from Val's pheremones. He also tries to use them on Charlie when he licks her arm.

I once heard a theory and I believe it too that the poison is the love potion. It’s the pink drug the sharks tried to put in angles drink in episode 4 and valentinos smoke is also in this pink color. Also in the song he blows the smoke directly into angles face, maby to effect him with the poison? I am not sure about this now but I think Velvet was the one who produced the love potion so it makes sense that all of the vees use it.

Something I feel like doesn't get talked about enough in "You Didn't Know" is the significance of Emily talking Charlie's side. We as the audience know how pure Charlie is, but to Heaven she's still Lucifer's daughter, the princess of Hell. For Emily to go up and stand next to her, singing with her (side note: I love that their melodies are parallel to each other, so even though they are harmonizing they sound like one voice), is a HUGE deal. I could see some angels wanting to cast her to Hell just for that, seeing her as a threat like they saw Lucifer when he was in Heaven.

I really liked all of the swing style songs.

Another great thing about "Stayed gone" is that *right* before the song Vox chewed out Val for wanting to chase after Angel and how that would make the Vees look weak. And then he just instantly proves that assessment right by chasing after Alastor and looking weak. Man really needs to learn to take his own advice.

When Lucifer says "who?"after Miimzys part in hells greatest dad...Its an inside joke that mimzy was originally meant to be a part of the main cast but got taken out of it (she might become more important as the show continues). I also like the idea that she likes encouraging Alastor to kill and go all out with his powers considering Husk saying whenever she's around theres trouble so it would be interesting to see if they do anything with her in season 2

The thing about It Starts With Sorry is that it's one of the few songs in the show that doesn't introduce or expand on a dynamic or conflict. We already saw how Charlie interacts with Sir Pentious at the hotel so by the time the song starts it's just Pentious going through some motions. That's probably why the song doesn't stick as hard. There's not much there to even make us think about it after the fact. It just does what it has to do to move the plot and that's it.

For a week after the episode came out, I was waking up singing "You Didn't Know". And it could have been ANYWHERE in the song, because the whole thing is impactful. Sera's part? Check. Lute's interjection? Yeppers. Emily and Charlie's duet? You better believe it. Every line in it feels unique and like the song shifts to something new

Actually the main topic of season 2 is actually making the hotel work and the vees so we will be getting a lot of vox in this upcoming season

Regarding how quickly? Carmella agreed to share her information. I always imagined that she saw this as a way to get the information out without endangering her family directly. After all who else but another Angel would know how to kill angels?

It starts with sorry may not be a banger, but it gives me the feels. And if something is able to gives me the feels, I love it.

One additional thing with Whatever It Takes, it hasn’t been proven or anything but Carmila could very well be another fallen angel. One proof is her color schemes and her daughters who are in hell as the reason. She possibly heard her kids were sent to hell and then Adam decided to kill sinners and to protect her kids from murder from heaven she fell. That would also explain how she knew how to kill angels.

Also i heard that angel is inhaling somth that makes him like woozy(hes forced/he can't rlly fight it off.) It's basically Valentinos red smoke, that's valentinos power his smoke...

The real villain is Sera. Adam is just the one who "follows orders" (because he gets a kick out of delivering the misfortune), this is shown in "Hell is Forever" when he sings, "The rules are black and white." This implies that he's just following the rules that Sera has implemented, enabled, and maintained. She's responsible for what's most likely the killing of trillions of people. Adam himself would do nothing unless Sera had enabled him to do so, he's just the enforcer, and she was heavily involved in allowing for moving the next Extermination up. Sera is an unredeemable monster, she has reduced the people of Hell to something less than people so she could give out the order to kill them, the "tough BUT necessary." She can never be redeemed or possibly even atoned since if she truly realises what a monstrous thing she's done she would most likely go insane and have to be on suicide watch for the rest of her existence. How can anyone live with the guilt of having trillions of people killed on their conscience? Her crime is FAR more serious than killing a few people or accidentally hurting the feelings of someone. If you combined the total casualty tally of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Zedong it would still be only a fraction of of the total kills Sera is responsible for. Also, every day being happy is bad. Sometimes people just need to feel down when they feel things suck. As you expressed yourself earlier being allowed to own your emotions. The state of Heaven is the toxic positivity that takes away your agency and gaslights you. "Welcome to Heaven" has to be seen in context to "You Didn't Know" with the former presenting the narrative image that Heaven wants to present and the latter being the sour reality. Neither of them functions as well as they do without the presence of the other as "Welcome to Heaven" without "You Didn't Know" just seems like a tacky tourist ad, while "You Didn't Know" makes no sense without "Welcome to Heaven" to show that the image Heaven presents is just a narrative and a glamour shot.

I agree that Velvet’s claim to being the backbone of the Vees makes sense. I think she is the Fashion Demon. Therefore porn and entertainment are the current fashion but they could be pushed aside for another media and Fashion would remain.

I personally think Carmilla agreed to teach Vaggie so quickly because it wasn't what her secret was She was trying to hide the fact she was the one who killed the angel so people don't go to war, as well as so she wouldn't have been targeted, putting her daughters at risk With the war incoming however, she already knew sinners will fight anyway, with or without her help. And if they fought without her knowledge it would end up way worse for her in the long run, so she told Vaggie how to fight the angels She couldn't stop their rebellion, but she could lead them in the good direction, all so she can save her daughters better

For me Poison is more of a narrative to show how Angel has this toxic addiction to the fame and money that being an 'adult star' brings; shown primarily in the "Addicted to this feelin', I can't help but swallow up your poison" and "So far beyond difficult to resist another gulp" lyrics; but the 'high' that he once got off of it has basically completely faded "I'm fillin' up my glass but it's always hollow; Full of poison, I'm sick of the poison" but whether because of the deal he struck with Valentino or because part of him still hungers for the fame/money/etc he can't help but go in for another dose of the 'poison'. I'm more leaning to the latter because of the "If I break myself enough; maybe I won't be his favorite toy anymore" line he says to Husk later. Not that 'maybe he'll leave me alone' or anything about being freed from his leash, but simply 'not his favorite' anymore.
