so happy you're finally doing this react and listening to me 😉he's one of the best, such a unique voice and all of his songs are filled with so much emotion. I can feel your emotion too watching this. great react as always ♥
Greetings from OZ! Thanks for resisting the urge to say G'd----. LOL. So glad you have reacted to Matt Corby. He is indeed a national treasure. I recommend you listen to his live recordings, especially 'Trick of The Light (Live on The Resolution Tour)', and 'Miracle LOVE (Live at Manchester Cathedral)'. His catalogue is so deep.
Matt is a different kind of cat - but what an artist. Next stop - The Teskey Brothers ' Hold me' (live at the Forum) Guy Sebastian ' Battlescars' (live from the home front) Another couple of out of this world performances.
You have had a friend, that is a brother to you, who has had such an impact on you that this song has resonated with your heart ❤....its a beautiful song by an astonishing artist ❤️🤘🏻
Great reaction bro. Matt is phenomenal, so unique and underrated. You gotta check out another Australian artist Guy Sebastian “battle scars” live acoustic at the home front
An even better version of Rain (Teskey brothers) (just IMO!) is the live KXT sessions version is absolute fire, you get both brothers on guitar and the acoustics are 🔥
One of the best vocalists in the world, Matt is amazing and this performance is outstanding. I had to pull my car over to listen to it when it came on Like a Version it was that good!
Love your reaction my friend.....Matt is such an unsung creative artist.....He's big here in Australia but gets little acknowledgment ...This is just such a stunning song he wrote about a fall out with his best mate. I hope you check out more of his songs and live performances...He does do another performance on this radio show called 'Chains' not his song but another Aussie artist Tina Arena....it shows off his vocal styles
Hi from Australia 😊 Loved your reaction to Matt. You wanna talk about an Aussie National Treasure? Try John Farnham's cover of Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. John is just known here as The Voice. Between that and Matt Corby you know everything you need to understand we Aussies (ok maybe with a bit of the Tesky Brothers, Guy Sebastian and Vanessa Amorosi thrown in for good measure too). ALSO, you NEED to check out New Zealander Stan Walker's cover of Kanye West's Ultralight Beam and his new video called I Am. They will both knock your socks off 😊❤
Hello to you from Texas. :) I actually think someone else brought John up. I'm going to have to remember that. And oooo, you're giving me some heat. Worst-case, it a lot of time goes on and you don't see me react to it, don't feel shy to remind me. I have a lot going on but want to do all the things!
@@TheBlackSpeedJohn Farnham Help with the Melbourne symphony orchestra, John, Jimmy Barnes & Deisel singing something is wrong with my baby. Basically anything live from John or Jimmy is amazing. Fav Deisel song is satellite.
The song is about how he slept with his best friends girlfriend. I believe he talks about it. If you read the lyrics it makes a lot of sense. It is definitely a powerful song.
You should react to one of our most underrated artists vocally Vanessa amorosi singing hero’s live forever at the 2000 Sydney olympics opening ceremony she was 17 at the time. Also her music video of one of her more recent songs called crash now burn
Love your reaction ! I love this live version of Brother. You should react to the live version of Monday by him. It’s a whole different vibe but very good!
Get down here mate 👍🇦🇺 I hadn’t watched that performance either. Knew the song and artist, but wow, what an amazing live performance 🙌 Great summary at the end mate. All heart ❤👍
I loved your reaction. Even though your face had the same expression throughout it all, it just explained more than pausing and talking about it would do. Less is more. Many time reactors pause too much thinking me as a viewer constantly need your opinion of every 20 seconds that pass by. Keep it up! Also, as a European and a Swede; there is so much music that never makes it into the American charts and radio cause it's not considered mainstream enough. So much good music from Sweden that's also in Swedish. Can you react to "The Teskey Brothers - Rain | A COLORS SHOW" - You'll be blown away. Also Australian.
Hey, I appreciate you enjoyed the react! We do that sometimes because of copyright and other reasons, so I know it can be annoying but sometimes..we have to. I try my best to not do that, however, and just eat the copyright and lack of monetization, so I'm glad you recognize that. :) America isn't good with receiving music outside of the country at times, so it's up to us to scrounge and search and find it. I'll have to keep that artist and song in mind and if I can find the time, I can for sure do it. :)
I was on of Matts haters after Australian Idol. But i was trying to pick up these 2 film students one time at The Cove And Matt was playing as the live bands doing covers. He played Jeff Buckley's - Lover You Shoud've Come Over And i will admit in that moment ever single bit of jealousy. And hate i had. Entirely disappeared. I realised in that very moment that i had been a hater. Who let stupid Australian Idol hate make me ignore a generational talent. Matt not only taught me not to be like that. But i saw him first hand working hard post Idol to become what he is today. And yeah man he is one of my favourite artists ever now. Just behind Jeff of course haha
It's always nice to see your own journey and progression, isn't it? Going from not really likin' someone to seeing a different side to full-on supporting them. Good on you!
@@TheBlackSpeed yeah the funny thing is i always used to think "Imagine what it would have been like to see Jeff Buckley live in the Sin-e era when he was working on his craft" And in some weird way i feel i got that experience with Matt. Singing one of Jeffs songs. The universe be playing like that sometimes tho
My guy! Really appreciate that, and yeah, I do my best to pick up on songs you all either recommend or strongly feel I'd like. This one did not disappoint.
Haha we've had a journey haven't we? And what's crazy, we have more to do! Thank you, really appreciate the support all this time. It makes it worthwhile.
Highly highly recommend: Matt Corby - Trick of the Light (Live on The Resolution Tour) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ECwGFSuY1nQ.html Matt Corby - Song For Interlude (Live on the Resolution Tour) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MpjPfKK0FQ.html The dude can play something like 6 different musical instruments, all self taught as far as I'm aware. In Resolution Tour, his main weapon of choice is electric guitar and has great use of a loop pedal live for Trick of the Light.
Hi from Australia. So glad you discovered Matt. You have to check.out our other National Treasure John Farnham singing Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. You'll be blown away. Also please check out New Zealand's Stan Walker covering Kanye's Ultralight Beam and his I Am clip
Hey Matt, can you come into the studio and do a live song for us ?, just 3 blokes sitting in a room 🤷♂️ Oh ok how was that 😮🤷♂️😳 insane live performance 🙏🙀👍
Have you had a look at any Aussie hip hop? Bliss n Eso or Hilltop Hoods can't really go wrong with any songs but Hilltop Hoods- Through the dark is something special
That song was based on him and a good friend of his, as far as I know, im sure someone can fill in the gaps, but great reaction to a great song and a very unique artist, that needs to be heard by the masses.
Mate i give you an Aussie accent pass. Dont think anyone down here cares tbh, personally i love it when people try our accent it cracks me up. Get a cork hat, white singlet, navy work shorts, a pair of double pluggers and a VB in your hand for the next one
@@user-cb8qj1oo1o I gave and give nothing but the utmost. What your perception is and what you feel is irrelevant to my actual intent. Your opinion is noted and you absolutely don't have to watch another video of mine. I don't do judgements, He knows my heart. Thanks though! Lol. My advice? I'd recommend coming at someone differently next time if you hope to get your point across. That's what's disgraceful, and just plain ignorant. Have the day you deserve.
