Omg same here! Summer Place #1 and Love is Blue #2. Both songs instantly transport me to different times in my life. Summer place to a preteen and Love is blue to a young fella in his 20’s.

I was 9 when "A Summer Place" was first released. I'm 73 now and it may still be my favorite song of all time. ~ Beautiful version Das Mainhatten Pops Orchester. Bravo ! from Los Angeles California.

The movie Summer Place is a must see too, this is the theme music originally by Percy Faith. This version is nice as well as some others, but Percy Faith can't be touched.

This song Summer Place was the wedding song for me and my husband Gary❤ it will always have a place in my heart ❤ we were married in 1970 he passed in 2020😢 I love then and always will. Till we meet again. Lov ya❤

This was my sister Marian’s favorite song. Her daughter had it played at her wedding reception. Sadly, Marian passed not long after her daughter got married. I think of my sister whenever I hear this song. Rest in peace Marian. ❤

But no version can tops Percy Faith (the original version). The trombone and fluegelhorns sound nice but not as nice as the French horns in the Faith version.

This is every bit as good as the original recording. I’ve heard a number of orchestras do this piece, but this is without a doubt the best rendition I’ve ever heard.

WOW! Percy's orchestra was much larger with more strings and French Horns! (I only see 1 here) Percy's musicians were ALL rather Old looking men. This group not Only Looks Better but Sounds Better.👏👍🏆

Everybody seems to be playing the notes, but the young, female, violin player is making music. Look at the smile on that girl -- how joyous. (She has dark hair and is wearing glasses.)

There are undercurrents in this music the same as in a river. Whirling and swirling. Ebbing and flowing. Lots going on at the same time. Same in all orchestras. Jump in and let yourself be carried by the current.

Once upon a time Percy Faith, whose orchestra recorded this theme, was appearing at a concert in Japan and a local DJ wanted to have the honor of introducing him to the audience. He began with: “Ladies and gentlemen…..pussy face.” The band was on the floor….they couldn’t play a note.

Diese Aufnahme ist wirklich grandios. Am besten gefällt mir der Dirigent. Er schwingt nicht den Taktstock, sondern tanzt nach Montessori den Musikern das Musikstück vor. Er bräucht vielleicht ein bisschen mehr Platz. Vielen Dank.
