I remember the first time I heard this intro song. I was just a kid, expecting to see the season 1 intro that I had gotten use to. The intro begins with Tony Stark rocking a mullet, manly hammering away to construct his new Iron Man suit while this theme played. And when it was over, my testicles dropped, I grew a beard and became a man.
Hats off to William Anderson for composing a great opening. It's just as powerful and exciting now as it was when the series first aired on TV years ago.
It's themes like this that prove you don't need a whole lot of lyrics to make an awesome theme, you just need a whole lot of guitar shredding and some other awesome beats and mix it all together good, bam you have an awesome kick ass theme for Iron Man.
First time I saw Iron Man was the 1994 Spider-Man Animated Series - with Spider-Man, Iron Man and War Machine vs Venom, Carnage and Baron Mordo, it was brilliant, even better to see live action movies made of them all nowadays too
You listen to this while lifting, suddenly all the metal in the gym flies at you and molds on your muscular body, forming the suit of armor, complete with iron abs.

I remember watching season 1 and enjoying it. Then I woke up one morning for season 2. Yeah I got floored by how suddenly we got a kickass and awesome song. I forever associate this theme song with Iron Man.

good luck that would take 1-higher cartoon budgets 2-hiring actual artist and not some jackass who says he can draw but just doodles on his tablet and 3-finding competent writers who know how to actually write a show and not 15 minutes of forced down our throat jokes that are fucking annoying
This right here is the theme of Iron Man I've always had in my head since I watched it back on TV growing up and it's stuck with me since before RU-vid was ever a thing.
This cartoon was the beginning of the rise of Iron Man --the way Robert Downey Jr portrayed him in the movies was very similar to the way he was portrayed in the cartoon. Would have loved to have seen Downey in a mullet. Would like to see this theme used again at some point--maybe in a future Iron Man cartoon?
I love this theme. I wish if Iron Man got a new animated series in this decade, but on a more modern scale and with more mature writing inspired by the comics. I really would want to see an arc about alcoholism done in the animated form.
Marvel Studios I’d argue that the second season of this show had some pretty mature and comic-accurate writing. Things like Tony’s depression, Rhodey’s claustrophobia and Mandarin getting his hand cut off are all pretty dark. I completely agree that there should be a new Iron Man cartoon, although I feel that a ‘Demon in a Bottle’ adaptation should be reserved for an animated film set in the same universe as this potential show (sort of like how Bruce Timm created Batman: Mask of the Phantasm to go along with Batman TAS).
@@CountCallous, yeah, I like that element they added with Rhodey's anxiety after he almost died when drowning. It was something I actually wanted to see the comics copy from the show. It's a good contrast between Rhodey and Tony. Tony can be addicted to suit sometimes, while Rhodey is scared as hell of being in the suit. The thing I'd like to see explored more is the Mandarin's role in the series. The second season gave him a much better treatment than the first season, but he was the primary antagonist only in the first and last episodes. I'd like to see him be the primary bad guy throughout the entire season, but when he's actually evil and scary. Like the Kingpin from that Daredevil show. He's present throughout the entire first season.
Marvel Studios I personally like how they only had Mandarin act as the main villain in the first and last episodes (along with being something of a main character in the ‘Empowered’ episode). I feel that, if he was the villain in every episode, he would not have been as menacing, because every episode would have ended with him being defeated by Iron Man. If he was defeated so frequently, he would come off as a very incompetent villain to the audience. The way the second season of this series handled it, Mandarin still had a strong presence, with epilogues at the end of each episode showing him gradually becoming more powerful, and at the same time, other villains could take the spotlight for an episode or two. I do like your idea of him serving as a Kingpin-esque background villain, who sends other villains out to fight Iron Man, before personally confronting him in the season finale, but I feel like that role would be better suited for villains like Justin Hammer, Obadiah Stane or Madame Masque. Rhodey’s fear of the suit definitely should have been integrated into the comics, I agree. It would have made for an interesting turn to his character, considering a major conflict he endured for so long was his desire to be in the armour, and a resentment towards anyone who suggested he give it up. There are some other aspects to this cartoon that I wished the comics had picked up as well, such as the character of Dark Aegis, as well as the plotline of Tony Stark’s cloned father (I’m not sure if the latter was ever a storyline in any comics, but if it was I’ve not read it yet).
And the intro of that show should be a remix of this theme That show should be like a sequel/3rd season to the 90s show and should be called IRON MAN RECHARGED
That's right, it should have been homaged in the movies somehow. If that terrible Spider-Man tune from the 60s cartoon can, so does this awesome Iron Man theme!

Aaah the 90s. You'll never see Disney having the balls to ever make a show like this. Now it's all just kid-friendly, witty puns and ridiculous character designs. Meanwhile this is the show that turned boys into men.
Don't forget that Marvel themsevles made some bad series That bad Avengers series that had none of the original members except Hawkeye and that had ridiculous stock transformation seqeences
@@Jshaw71 That show was a cash grab to try and capitalize on the popularity of DC's Batman Beyond and anime. Futuristic setting with ridiculous Sailor Moon type outfit "transformation" or whatever. Just like Spider-Man Unlimited, it was made to try and capitalize off of Batman Beyond, borrowing the same setting and ideas, and even Spidey's suit was pretty much his "Beyond Suit" that gave him new abilities and gadgets and shit. Not to mention they claim those shows were within continuity with the rest of the Marvel Animated Series Universe (which was a shared universe despite characters like Iron Man and the Fantastic 4 having different designs when they showed up in Spider-Man TAS) but they are clearly not, as there are many plot contradictions (Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch was part of Iron Man's Force Works, the Avengers cartoon happens after Iron Man TAS, and yet Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch act like they don't know Tony at all, and don't know he's Iron Man? Bullshit)
What also bothers me is that almost no one bothers to create a banging TV intro anymore. Compare the openings for the Spider-Man cartoons to the ones in the modern day.

@@rolandorzabal1955 It's not a reference to this show. There's a song from the 1970s by Black Sabbath called "Iron Man". That's what the reference was to, and that's what this song is referencing. They even played the Black Sabbath song as the ending credits theme of the first Iron Man movie.
