AaronThePerson yeah it wasn’t lack of empathy at all. He stopped and looked, but only rubbernecking idiots go where bullets are flying, and like the other guy said he’s not an agent or doctor so it’s not his business.. you can still have empathy while minding your own business lol
@@aarontheperson6867 Do you just not understand that when someone said "I love how" they don't actually love it? It's a figure of speech, usually used to point out something ridiculous.
There's nothing wonderful or exceptional about that. They just show him looking elsewhere at 2:38 and quickly bring his eyes back. It's just normal directing and acting. Nothing special to note. And no, I'm not fun at parties.
@@qy72hund Actually, it started at 2:34 and lasted until 2:45. Follow his eyes and the camera. The camera literally became his eyes as he's scanning the other people. While it may not have been exceptional, it was deliberate. It wasn't just "looking elsewhere", there was intention behind it that you clearly missed.
This is like the entirety of the show summed up into one clip: there's a murder with some suspects, Jane figures out who the murderer is in .2 seconds, someone gets sassy, Jane uses the sassy person (Mandy in this case) to solve the crime, Jane makes a mess, and Lisbon has to clean it all up. :)
Guy's completely wrong, anyway. Thor may be a Norse God, but the Green Lantern is basically an alien god with hypertechnology that can literally make anything, anywhere, anytime. Lightning's great, but it's not instantaneous large-scale matter creation; that's "fundamental building blocks of physics" stuff. Pretty handy to be able to screw with those. Sorry, but it's just no contest. Pop Thor in an unbreakable green energy bottle and use him as a conversation piece. "Fight": over. GL can literally do it one-handed.
My friends you are both technically correct. It really depends which Green Lantern and which Thor we're talking about. Thor does get the edge against most of them however; he can easily break most constructs, I'd wager that Hal or Kyle would have the best shot against Thor.
@@yuriluis2627 Pretty sure I just described him fairly accurately, but if you have an actual and specific argument to make, I'm willing to hear it. Not sure how you're getting around "re-arranging fundamental physics beats static electricity", though.
@@michaelccozens In every medium we've seen Green Lantern, his constructs are always shown to be breakable by physical force. Thor's physical capabilities are outrageous--it was said that he can push a mountain with a single hand (not exactly this but something like this).
Mentalist was so good. Charismatic lead, not annoying side characters and a fairly linear main story arc(finding Red John) that didn't get ridiculous or obvious
Actually he is quite different. Sherlock Holmes is a Master of things and Logic but quite bad with people. Jane ist a Master of People and not that much in to systematics and empirical clues. He is kind of the opposite of Holmes, really
I go with you with the idea that ALL those characters are only a teeny bit smarter than average. If they truly were geniuses, most of the television watching world wouldn't be able to follow and the show would flop. Average people can't catch the fastest runners. Can not play music at a masters level. Can not think to follow the thoughts of the brilliant. (All developed talent.) Peace.
@@petiteexplication6249 It's not a ripoff, but it is a modern adaptation of the story. Hence the pun in his name - 'Holmes' (homes) and House (a home). And Holmes' side kick was Watson and House's is Wilson. They didn't really try to be subtle about it :-) Most modern 'genius, detective' type shows take inspiration from Sherlock Holmes, just as most modern fantasies borrow from Lord of the Rings. They were the first of their kind and so provide the path.
This scene right here made me watch all the 7 seasons and I don't regret even a single second of it. Even tho i did fail an exam because i was watching The Mentalist all night long, still don't regret it.
What is funny is the fact that most of the characters in the series who are criminals often underestimate Patrick Jane. In addition, there are times when he may "act" less intelligent in order to obtain information via body language or cues that may be useful to solve a case and it is priceless ! 👍👍
TheReck You know that Shawn Spencer idolizes this guy right? I actually started watching this before I was turned on to Psych and thought it was hilarious whenever he'd mention the mentalist (I think 3 times total throughout the 8 seasons)
Hridyesh Saxena how stupid are you this kind of idea already appeared in the original Sherlock Holmes books, also nobody stole anything both series are completely different
@@soshniper trick does not matter. This scene is about crowd control. In first season there were no crowd to control, it was with Van Pelt in their office.
@@marianogarciacollia8255 he doesn't know. he just wants to say he isn't the greatest to prove his superiority. sometimes people contradict with other people to flant their shitty ways and opinions.
OMG!!! I am absolutely in love with the music that starts at 2:22. And after some surfing I have found that the show had some incredible background scores.
What I do not understand about this scene; in the next scene Jane is blamed for the damage and Neil's death. HOW??? He identified the killer! That was his job. It was the job of the police to contain him.
so sad the mentalist had to end simon baker was the best in the programme ive got all the dvds thank goodness but he did get a good ending starting over again with the lady he loved and another chance at being a dad i wish all the best to simon
Its that swagger. The "Oh, I'm more important than you!" sway they always show... Probably because they got bulled so hard in school or their low self-esteem of not having good friends around them. Or an even bigger one, "I want my sugar daddy!" addiction.
This was the clip that made me watch the show. Iv seen it 4 times now. Iv seen it with my family. It has brought me hours and hours of joy and happiness.... Thank you!
never get away with that today, a man talking a entitled female snob down? SEXIST. Headline would be "Mr Jane sexually harasses woman, forced her to hold his hand and danced provocatively."
Brilliant show !! Incredible ensemble cast !! Mentalist is timeless; I have binge watched it ; it’s a series you will watch multiple times ; you will fall in love with Patrick Jane ; his character grows on you and I bet you will never forget him ; he s magical ❤
I love how the scene cuts to the intro title with the up-beat music after this guy literally just ignored a shooting that he arguably caused. So badass lol
For someone who had to suffer through his family being murdered for taunting a serial killer, you’d think he’d be less confrontational in front of a murderer who could pose a danger to people around him
Simon Baker would have made a better Gilderoy Lockhart (Harry Potter 2) Book-based Gilderoy Lockhart is handsome looking, that's why witches (old and young) are infatuated by him... but the movie version is GOOFY-LOOKING
well, green lantern, obviously, has the more versatile and powerful tool/weapon. But apart from that, any Asgardian is more than a match for any human. But suppose a being on par with Asgardians wields a power ring? The Executioner, perhaps. Hmm..
After I finished watching The Mentalist series finale; I then had to watch this great, old, scene so I could remember what a wonderful show it once was, instead of ludicrous junk that it had become.
The last ep of this season was stupid red john should of killed him but he loves to play games with Patrick but red john thinks he is smarter than he really is
That's true, but they still exist. They are simply talented magicians of the mind. I've seen two real ones and even with knowledge of how some of their tricks work, it's amazing what they can do.
