Stand up comedy specials are supposed to a representation of what it’s like to be in the room or theater while they are delivering the material. It doesn’t translate to digital medium as well, where as a podcast translates better to video/audio better

I believe it. His comedy doesn’t translate as well to stand up in my opinion. His stand up is okay. He’s hilarious in conversation so the podcast format works for him. There’s a ton of people like this though, he just happened to have the connections & drive to make it.

It feels so weird that with most his stories, there’s one friend of mine I could picture doing something similar to his. And I’m from South Carolina. I saw him on the hunt for that BJ and directed him back West.

Honestly, I grew up with 2 guys a lot like Theo. He embellishes this stuff, but believe me, the details are so specific you can’t make that shit up. He makes jokes because the trauma in his life would make a grown man cry, he makes people laugh because he’s hurting and there isn’t enough therapy in the universe to fix the shit he’s probably been through.

Shit that if you wrote a book about it, people would say you're making it up and I'm telling you man - real life is crazier than fiction. Theo looks like he escaped it, most don't and usually die from OD. A lot of people say he's just a gifted story teller or liar, but man, you can see the hurt in this dude's soul when he tells some of his stories. It's hilarious, don't get me wrong, but when you know people who's seen some shit, you just pick up on it. Almost like how veterans have that 1000-yard stare after they get back from a tour.
