I've listened to the Vulfpeck cover (is it still called a "cover" if a bunch of the musicians are in both versions?), but this is my first time listening to Theo's original. Sincerely beautiful and appropriately unnerving. I really love this song Theo, there's so many "love" songs in this world and 99% of them take the same perspective on the word. I like this angle, its refreshing and the touch of cynicism adds a sense of authenticity. The real world is a lot more warped than most love songs portray :/

Theo's songs have some really weird kind of depth to them. They are genius in their simplicity, never doing more than necessary. But everything they end up doing is so good and heartfelt and elegant. It's the mark of a great musician that is not afraid to make decisions and commit to them, but also being MUCH more capable than they let on
