Bitd I had several, Sirocco deluxe, Taunus, Olympus, Countryman deluxe, Fenman skeleton, SLR 88 wish I still had them. Totally different to the nasty modern gas strut rifles- thanks for sharing !

I remember sitting on the bus going home after buying an Airgun World or Airgunner magazine and drooling over these. Years later and literally half way around the world from my native UK and I am still drooling. I have a safe full of centrefires, but I really love shouldering my circa "85 HW77 and shooting seed pods out of a tree on the farm. I would say its pretty much impossible to find one here, but the occasional Daystate huntsman is losted for sale.
nice review and lovely rifle I can feel your enthusiasm from here.. I got one in around 1988 and after growing up with BSA, Webley and then Weihrauch the build quality of these blew me away and they were light years ahead of the competition.. loved mine all the way of up to me trying a Theoben Rapid and now try as I might I can’t get away from pre charged 😂
A guy who owns a local gun shop has 2 Theoben SLR98 with Simmons White Tail scopes on both, they're both both mint as well. They're his own personal guns and not for sale, I shouldered one of them, beautiful.
I agree on the quality of manufacture, the bluing, the Hyduea stocks with a thumb up pistol grip and that solid lock up. I still prefer the shot cycle of run in TX200 to my rammers though. I'm going to get a slot for an Eliminator next, even though everyone says not to bother!
Had the classic carbine he with a venom silencer on it,quality was second to none.sold it but wish I still had it,probably couldn't afford to buy it back now😯

My mate had an eliminator Head and shoulders above anything we had back in the day. Lovely looking rifle. Fieldsports equip thats a name from the past i didn't realise they were still on the go. I remember their advert in the shooting times. It was a guy called Reg Gizzi ran it then if i remember correctly.
love mine one of the first made had it as a deal with bag sling and tasco euro class scope with the anshultz barrel in 22 even bought the pump as well, had it all these years and fired less than 2000 shots
I had tb550 and it spent more time with theoben than with me it just leaked constantly, it was returned for the 5th time and it had leaked to empty on its way to the shop, the rfd just gave me my money back which was a real shame.
I've just acquired a circa 86 sirocco deluxe .177 lefty. Stock was heavily scratched. I've just refurbished. And wanted to put together and try this morning. But previous owner had damaged the stock and trigger bolts. So I've got to wait for new bolts. I'm itching to try.
I would have sold a kidney to get one of these in the day when i was in my mid to late teens,I got mesmerised over the ads in Airgun World. And so I sweat blood at work for several months to save up and eventually got the walnut stock delux and was thoroughly disappointed.It did have a couple of good points but the stock was nothing special and I had nothing but trouble with the trigger and it being underpowered,I gave up in the end - I got fed up with sending the bloody thing back so sold it and went back to Weihrauch.Worst gun I’ve ever owned.
Hi Paul, May I ask, please, how does this Theoben compare to your Weihrauch HW90k? I know you like your 90, and Theoben used to make the HW 90 for Weihrauch until Theoben closed. Thank you.
@fieldsportcymru4636 Hi Paul, Thank you for your reply. I'd love to own one of Theobens' gas ram air rifles. I think they are beautiful pieces of kit. However, I don't fancy buying a pre-owned model, one that's been prodded and poked and basically no knowledge of how it's been treated. I'm quite particular in that respect. As Theoben manufactured Weihrauch's HW90 in the early days, before Theoben closed, I'd much rather buy a brand new Weihrauch HW90K and know exactly how it's been treated and looked after and look at it as a Theoben Scirocco or Fenmam, etc. In looks, to me, they dont look massively different, though still retain their quality and engineering masterclass.Thank you.
Hi Paul, I was a teenager in 1982. I hadn't a hope of my dad allowing me one of those, even though I was well behaved and didn't create problems. If I'd been an adult, I'd have worked night and day to own one of those. It would have been looked and cherished. If only........
I have a sirocco classic he in .20 calibre that I'm considering selling. It's a 1993 rifle in near mint condition that comes with a bushnell trophy 3-9x40 & a theoben branded leather cobra sling. I just don't use it anymore after going down the pcp route.
Alright mate, nice looking rifle , what happened to the company I've heard a lot of people say that they were great rifles and they still have a good name .
