Next up someone will get cancelled bc they breathed in front of a disabled person and people will say that he or she were talking air from the disabled person
I am neurodivergent since I have adhd. I will be honest it sounds stupid and condescending. I don't need the world to use these because IT FEELS INSULTING.
And I can’t even call it jealousy (Twitter canceling famous people), it’s more like it’s genuinely sad at this point. Cancel culture is so frickin’ toxic that you can get cancelled for the littlest of things.
@Punchy Punchy Ka-POW! in Twitter, they just like to hate white people ,straight people, and men lmfao , idk , especially "white straight cis men" me women my self hate how much misandry happens in Twitter 💀
I think its better to have Twitter, if that app doesn't exist than the Satans have a chance to be in other platforms like youtube and i dont want that to happen, let it be their home or prison idk, the world will be safer if we keep them there
Cancel culture is lowkey bullying. Even if you apologize they still won’t stfu or stop. I don’t think people realize humans are flawed & make mistakes.
That’s just the problem-people LOVE forgetting that celebrities are humans at all. We hold them to ridiculous expectations and then shame them and tear them apart for not being able to live up to said expectations. Reminds me of a line from a song- “when you become untouchable you’re unable to touch” It’s so true. Being an influencer would suck. You suddenly aren’t allowed to be human anymore.
I never knew "tone indicators" were even a thing. I'm 26 years old and spent way too many hours on the internet everyday. The only tone indicator I ever see being used /s and I always assumed people just used it to mock people who don't understand sarcasm, so that people can't call them out on saying something that might be considered dumb, if it wasn't meant in a sarcastic way. Twitter is almost as bad as tumblr...
"If you aren't neurodivergent, you can't forgive him" James, a dyslexic: I forgive myself Tweeter toxic people: No this isn't how you're supossed to play the game.
@Prayingmantis 211 same, I'm probably considered ND since I have ADHD and thus can't pick up on social cues often; I use /s all the time and didn't even realize that it was meant to help ND people either
@dumb artist I mean I’ve never had trouble, but I struggle with body language and facial expressions rather than voice tones, so they aren’t that relevant for me.
I have autism myself, aspergers to be exact, I can forgive him through and THROUGH for this. He actually was getting cancelled for making a joke about uh.. immigrants? And it was sarcasm? Not supposed to be offensive..? I don’t need these to pick up on cues see, I get others might, but there is no way these are used by people WITHOUT thinking that ND human beings are absolutely stupid.
ok so im autistic. this drama is SO STUPID. ITS HILARIOUS. what happened to “we’re all human, we all make mistakes”? oh my god. some people really need to step back and relax. wow. like....... he didnt know??????? but he learned and apologized?????? god
Not to mention he had no idea it was meant for neurodivergent people and he just thought it was another stupid fad. I didn’t even know about tone indicators and I’m autistic. And even I think it’s somewhat stupid. I’d rather re read the comment and interpret the context properly
I’m neurodivergent and I could not figure out what was wrong with his tweet. Even after I found out why, I didn’t get why everyone was so mad. And you can literally give the best, most sincere apology in the world for the smallest mistake and people are still mad.
honestly it took me a while to learn about tone indicators and I didn’t know why they were important until now, so yeah uhm I don’t see what James did wrong
Same, it’s just so toxic. Like, let people be human and make honest mistakes that they can learn from. Stop trying to speak on our behalf just so you can try to seem morally superior. To me, that’s honestly MUCH more offensive than James’ minor slip up. It’s not okay.
@@lupinsredjacket3191 thats actually very different. BLM is a movement about killing people that arent white. this is about being offended by a joke that doesnt even affect the people youre defending if you get what i mean?
@@worm4165 Yes, I understand. However, it has a similar concept. In TO1O's situation, it's neurotypical people getting offended on behalf of the neuro-atypical people. In BLM's situation, it's white people getting offended & protesting (often times violently) on behalf of black people. In other cases, like modern "feminism", it's feminists getting offended & demanding ridiculous crap on behalf of women who don't see men as "oppressors". It's a pattern I'm beginning to notice. I'm going to call it "White Knight Syndrome".
@@Bloodyfiesta no he doesn't. But he did apologize and took accountability to it. Plus, he educated himself and the people one why what he did is wrong.
@@Bloodyfiesta it wasn't "very unacceptable" it was a legitimate joke with no context. Hes even dyslexic which makes it even more ironic and irrelevant. If it's unacceptable for you. You have a personal issue.
Me: oh c'mon it feels bad to know you offended someone. He apologized and he explained after the sorry which is better then just... Explaining. And it's sad to feel nobody will forgive you Other people: thinks decent no worse Twitter: WELL HE STILL MADE THE MISTAKE IN THE FIRST PLACE. DON'T THINK AN APOLOGY WILL MAKE US FORGIVE YOU Very little of twitter: you people are stupid. R/whoosh. Me: I'm never getting twitter or id spend 24/7 arguing and they'd still not understand. (I wouldn't actually waste my time arguing) I'd try to explain the mistake politely BEFORE the apology
I am ND (I have Aspergers) and I’m not offended I honestly couldn’t care less because at the end of the day it’s a simple mistake for which he apologised people on Twitter need to get over themselves
Yea it’s like a white girl getting offended if someone who’s not black says the n word. It’s not ur place lol. and y are u getting offended on my behalf lol
@@475mv4 My dude, I have autism and still use the term nuerodivergent to refer to myself and other people with developmental disabilities, it’s not that deep
I have adhd, dysgraphia and dyslexia and I love the text indicators, they’re really helpful but I don’t think he should be canceled especially if he didn’t know, this is something he can learn and grow from. Also I’m pretty sure he’s dyslexic
“If you’re not neurodivergent, you can’t forgive him” Well then, if you’re not neurodivergent you can’t get mad at him, right? You’re not the one being offended.
As a ND person myself, tone tags are helpful if it's VERY hard to tell or about pretty serious topics. You don't have to always use them for basically everything
as a neurodivergent person, this is ridiculous lol people can make mistakes. i myself didn’t know what they meant at first and i often have to look it up when i see one i don’t know yet
@@wellfare3.061 oh, i said its nice to see the people who are being “bullied” make comments saying they dont really care about them saying that and that they are fine with it
Same here, I mean I'm autistic, and I can even understand that to a certain point that you have to at least give someone a chance to give something a change
The dude is the most rude person. I can’t believe he would mock ND people. He is so trashy, he should delete his channel and all his social media. He needs to make a video addressing all this and apologize to all ND people. Everyone you address in this video except for anyone defending James is in the right. His videos were the best, but with a tweet like that, I can’t stand to even think about him. He only deleted the tweet because people were pointing out how rude he was being. /s
just replace james with any influencer who made an honest mistake, and replace nd with any group of people (except cishet white men) and you got twitter
The irony: these people that are “cancelling” him and saying they are no longer fans will start watching him when the next video comes out idk if this is cringy but wow 1k likes
RU-vidr : Does blackface and makes an apology 12 years later Everybody : “It’s okay” James : Makes a small mistake and fixes it in less than 10 minutes Everybody : *You shall be banished and sent to the pits of hell*
@@xxhalfemptyxx7713 It wasn’t aimed towards jenna, lot’s of people have done it, heck, the prime minister did blackface and apologized around that time
I’m autistic, I don’t find tone indicators useful myself, I just learn how to read my friends and that’s well enough. Also there’s a reason emojis exist 🙄😂
@@nuggetthehamster7072 yeah but I think most of the people who are going batshit over this think he isn't neurodivergent so they're probably treating him as some sort of outsider Granted he didn't know what tone indicators were so its possible he doesn't interact with the ND community that much idk (all I can do is assume...)
@@cupid3890 Not really, most people on that side acknowledged it but just said he was still ableist, which I would say would be fine...if he was actually ableist.
For a sec there I was like “hol up, he did that?” And was a bit mad for a second. But then I saw he apologized and I said “okay, so people are mad why?” And then I realized it’s Twitter and apologies mean nothing so that’s nice. 4:46 and can I just say, most people are using /gen w r o n g? Most use /g for genuine and /gen for genuine question, because there’s also /rh for rhetorical question. Nice try tho, bub. As someone with neurodivergent friends (and as someone who has trouble telling tones) we do use it on a daily basis. It gets easier as you use it to memorize them all, and although some are used less than others, they are all useful. Example: f*ck you /j /nm. This is how we use it usually.
love that the only people who are actually offended are people who aren’t ND like no it’s okay just speak over us again i changed my opinion on this very slightly: u shouldn’t joke about things u don’t understand !!! that’s how u end up in these situations. i still don’t think he should be “cancelled” (he never was) but yeah lol. don’t joke about things u know nothing about
@@carsonpalma3666 In this case/video, yes. Although this can be used in other scenarios where people who aren’t relevant at all still get offended while the people it’s actually talking about either don’t care or find it funny.
@@mangomunchh Making a sarcastic joke ≠ Mocking Anyway that joke wasn't directed at NDs I was making fun of the brainlets who get mad over everything on twitter
Personally I actually find tone indicators very helpful. It keeps me from having to over explain myself or overthink what other people are trying to say. But I get that they don’t help a lot of people and that James genuinely made a mistake. I was disappointed at first but not mad. I’m glad he apologized :)) Everyone makes mistakes
As someone with Autism/is neurodivergent....wtf lolol like seriously. James DOES NOT deserve hate. People getting angry on the behalf of people like me are freaking dummies. Like we can defend ourselves. The only thing I find offensive is when autism/autistic is used as an insult....but I have accepted the fact that I cannot change it. Also, Pegasus, I don't use that stuff....if I don't get the joke, I don't get it and move tf on.
No I don’t. As someone with Mild autism I didn’t even know this existed. But it’s ridiculous and James did nothing wrong. Twitter should apologize to James for what they did
Same, I have high-functioning autism and I have never seen or heard about them before, he didn't know about it and the from the criticism researched and found out so now he won't do that again, it's not a big deal.
I'm autistic and its definitely easier for people who struggle with social queues, such as myself, but if you spend a day on twitter you kinda pick up on these things. This is just me specially and I'm in no way speaking for other neurodivergent people
I guess its fine to sometimes use it, but honestly i dont hold back on jokes by saying theyre jokes before i even made that joke, i qont use tone indicators but id rather gladly explain the joke to them if they actually dont get it , its gonna help em pick up on jokes (specially sarcasm) in the future
I'm neurodivergent, but I don't use tone indicators, they're just way too complex, and I do forgive James because I believe forcing people to type characters they don't want to just to aid a small percentage of the world is dumb, if they want to be kind and help, they can, but don't twist their arm into doing things that aren't necessary. Edit: To specify, I believe FORCING people to type the characters when they don't want to is dumb, not just typing them in general
I agree, I’m glad I learned about this, but I probably won’t do it since very few people seem to absolutely need it. Also thanks for clearing stuff up I was little confused
I'm also neurodivergent (ADHD) and I say this drama is stupid. Hell, I didn't even know about this table stuff until today. Twitter needs to stop with the "what? you made a slightly offensive tweet unintentionally? you must want to lynch every in existence and are the reincarnation of hitler!" shit. James clearly didn't know better, he apologized very sincerely and has been known to be a kind and accepting person since forever, and people are legit acting like he said "death to all ND people."
Someone: makes a joke Twitter: that’s so offensive APOLOGIES!!! The person: apologized sincerely and is really kind about it Twitter: yo did you just apologize? That’s offensive
@@cerealarmageddon6674 That's not the problem, the problem is that people who have nothing to do with the situation exaggerate the matter, while the people who were targeted usually aren't bothered. Imagine trying to ruin a person's whole career because they said something which wasn't even slightly directed at you and was probably a mistake.😟
I personally use tone indicators because I don't understand tones sometimes. But not everyone has to! It's a person's choice if they want to! Wow! How shocking Twitter! 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
I think the people who are “cancelling” James either aren’t neurodivergent or are the people who say they are neurodivergent just to be quirky or different
@@blarpax9061 no no seriously this happens i knew this one girl that blamed her constant cheating on that she was special needs but she got exposed when her own family stated that she went to the doctors and she was perfectly fine
