This interview doesn't seem half as bad as it was portrayed on the show. On the show, Elizabeth mentioned only one lab was shut down after it was implied that both were, here this interview corroborates that by saying the lab in Arizona which did most of the Walgreens testing passed a recent inspection.

but this interview just shows how even when the fraud is so brazen and absolutely evil.... marketing and spin can make it seem its just a hump with enough money, connections and propaganda...

They couldn't ask her any challenging questions or she would not have agreed to the interview. SO either they ask softball questions OR no interview. That is why it was so bad (especially the editing.) What do you hold yourself responsible for? What kind of ridiculous question is that? But that was all Maria was allowed to ask. There was a lot of inertia behind Holmes to believe that a self-made female billionaire would succeed. Everyone wanted to believe that. That is the #Woke belief.

It wasn't much of an interview. Just a 1 minute clip. Snore.

I wonder how Walgreens did manage to recover, cause on the show Elizabeth did her homework mentioning that Walgreens was looking for a new cash cow after they lost Express Scripts. Although I believe they did get some money back after they sued. Sometimes I think they believed that they may have gotten the technology in the Edison right, but as the show portrayed it was still at least 10 years or more away.

@@Concepcion30 Walgreens' CEO testified at trial that Holmes lied to him about using their technology for the tests (not Siemens machines) and other things. In other words, Walgreen's was indemnified because Holmes and other Theranos executives regularly lied to them. Thank God they were because thousands of good people would have lost their jobs if Holmes had been allowed to drag 1901-founded Walgreen's down with her.

Yes, AND during her trial she blamed Sunny, her legal team, her employees, the Walgreens people, her investors, her board of directors, the media people and basically everything under the sun for her own failures. 🤨

She didn't take that class, and completed only 1 year of college. But somehow she managed to convince people to let her become the CEO of a biomedical science company without a strong science foundation. There's a reason most science CEOs have PhDs or Master's degrees.

She’s devastated about not fixing the issue that her company was a complete scam that never developed any new product or technology. I guess she just felt like that was a minor issue

The way this works is that you develop a new science and then look for how you can apply it, with her she envisioned what she wanted it to do and thought that that was the big breakthrough, which is of itself in the realm of fantasy, science fiction. She thought she was a genius and got lot's of positive reinforcement for that delusion, then the house of cards all came crashing down.

Because NBC had a political agenda to portray a female CEO as heroic... even as her company was telling women who took its bloodtests that they'd have miscarriages when they had healthy pregnancies.

Holmes would never have agreed to an interview with a hard-hitting journalist. So this is what we get instead.

And NBC passed on the falsehood that no people were harmed by the tests! If you've been told you have HIV and you don't, I'd say you were harmed. If you were told you were going to have a miscarriage and you actually had a healthy pregnancy then, yes, you were harmed. These were all incorrect results Theranos gave real people!

Criminals are usually not full fledged monsters dear. Most of them do have feelings and therefore feel resentment, they have certain qualities, dreams and deep down a desire to change, but they're still considered criminals for a reason. Good potential is present in close to all human beings, but up until that is actually projected onto themselves and society, someone needs to hold them accountable for whatever mess they might create in the process. She messed up quite a lot, and could have messed up even more by putting in major danger plenty of other people if her game succeeded.

Yeah I really look forward to the day when this tech is available, it’s extremely needed since people can’t afford Labcorps’ life saving blood tests. From what I’ve read it’s actually very close, she chose to scam instead of wait it out

Well according to a documentary I’ve watched about the whole thing, the technology wasn’t working and gave wildly inaccurate results. They began to test the blood on third party machines claiming it was their own machines they were using and in other instances also diluted the blood as they weren’t taking enough (because the branding was “just one drop”) and diluted blood leads to inaccurate results. They also had issues with irresponsible storage of the blood. As the blood was being moved from Walgreens to their labs to be tested (because it had to be tested using third party machines and not the theranos machines at walgreens), during the transfer the blood was often exposed to heat, and sometimes took hours to reach the lab, which lead to blood clotting - and again, inaccurate results. They had a lot of other issues as well. All this because their technology wasn’t working and they kept hiding, and lying to get more funding.

She has a high school diploma. That's it. She didn't even finish college. It boggles the mind that adults didn't install adult leadership in this company before this travesty happened.

her lab is using, not her vaunted technology but is diluting the samples and using equipment from Siemans, the exact same equipment that Quest uses, but quest does not dilute the blood samples. She is a fraud.
