Therapist analyzes the lyrics of Laid to Rest by Lamb of God to talk about how running from failure and hiding from it is a sure way to defeat but admitting to failure is actually the only path to freedom.

Walk With Me in Hell, please!!! Despite the name, it's actually a support type of song. It's basically about everyone having their own personal "hell." Let's get together and get through our "hells" together. Originally written by the lead guitarist when he met his now wife. He was quoted as saying that this song took on a whole new meaning to him after he and his now wife's first child was stillborn. That song has helped me through my own tough times. Even though someone might not literally be standing beside me, it always reminds me that there are people out there that are willing to help you get through whatever "hell" you're experiencing.

@@mitchumman8000 Both Wrath and Resolution are heavily underrated to me. I feel bad for Lamb of God because they had such a high going with Ashes Of The Wake and Sacrament. Then all of a sudden it's like all the music media dropped them. I knew about Wrath but it didn't seem like there was much backing of it. But I didn't know about Resolution until a couple of years after it came out. Granted between 2011-2014, I moved around a bit and joined the military so I wasn't up-to-date as much as I'd been before, but even so. Had I not randomly looked up the band one day I probably wouldn't of found that album until well later on.

The main breakdown of this video is the dude in the red hoodie is running from his problems and himself trying to escape the misery. I can relate on so many levels, because I constantly feel like running away but I know it will catch up with me in the end anyways. You can never truly run away from your problems. I felt like it was directed towards the leaders who brainwashed us and sent us to war based on lies. I see someone else mentioned 512 and out of the entire Lamb of God discography I’m really interested on how you interpret that song. It was written after a hugely dark period in Randy’s life where he was on trial for manslaughter and had to wrestle with the knowledge that a fan died at one of their shows. Lamb of God has a huge number of amazing songs, but given your experience and education 512 is the one song I’m most curious to see you tackle

Something to note about LOG, Randy Blythe (Prounounced Blye) is Sober, and has been for around 13 or 14 years now. He has many songs that address this. Another bit about him that some dont know. While playing a show in Prague, a Crowd Surfer got on stage with Lamb Of God, Randy as he had done many of shows before, gave this crowd surfer a push back into the crowd, as the surfer went in, he fell, and hit his head on the show floor. This person stayed for the remainder of the show, left, went home, and died in his bed that evening. Lamb Of God had left Prague, when an Arrest warrant was placed in the name of Randal Blythe. The members of the band, and Randy himself had 0 knowledge that any of this had happened. A few years later, Lamb of God Returned to Prague for another show, when their plane landed, the band was not allowed to depart the plane, officers came on board, guns drawn, and arrested Randy on the plane. Randy stood trial and was acquitted of all wrong doing. I believe Said that he wrote the song 512 while he was awaiting trial.

Yeah this whole album is their best in my opinion. The singer was imprisoned once over a debatable charge of manslaughter. Overall this band like many others of this era saved me because the theme was anger and resentment as a pushback from the daily BS that went on during my upbringing. Also a band called, "Shadow Of Intent" does an amazing cover of this song.

I bought this album in Gitmo (Guantanamo Bay) during a port call. I was shocked they had this heavy of music (I also bought American Idiot and an Agent Orange album there, with the same thoughts). At the time I was in the Coast Guard and we had been on patrol for a good few weeks, so new music was a definite priority for myself. This was back before even MP3 players were a thing. Or, at least I'd not seen them, yet. I remember being on kitchen duty and blasting this album while slinging glasses through the scullery. I imagine I both scared and pissed off a lot of the crew that day because the hallway to the cafeteria past right by where I was, and there weren't any windows, hehe. The track "Ashes of the Wake" is intense. No singing, just military members talking about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan. Which is interesting because the first song of the album, the lyrics "Ashes of the Wake" are in a verse, but the track is called "Hourglass". It confused the hell out of me for years (I rarely look up lyrics to songs, unless I need to).

I think hiim getting the red shirt at the end is a metaphore. It's him "wearing his wrong doings". Take the L, wear it, admit it (there is an expression for it but i can't remember how it's called.) In the end he's taking the shirt with him, he admitted the "sins" he's done and he'll carry it so he can move on after.
