Yep this songs hits close to home as well. Someone very close to me took their own life and they used a 45. I have to disconnect when I hear this song. I love Shinedown though!!
Of all the many reactions I’ve been watching lately of the many metal songs that I love and have known for a long time, this one has really hit and can be applied to my life in the present moment. Thank you for your point of view and takeaway.

Slipknot from a (Christian?) normies perspective that happens to be a therapist I guess. these guys are mostly just trying to be shocking and edgy, but all art is also a firm of expression, this lady is weird to me
I still hold this as a combat vet song. I find it hard to think all of Metallica is about sewer slide. The empty shell is what you become when you leave being "normal" and make the decision to move toward the area that is hostile to a normal thought process. I really think you should sit in on some combat vets and hear us out because I can't imagine someone wanting to do anything over a broken family, lost relationship, or any of that other stuff I see as low hanging fruit. Hear us out, hear us discuss what had to be done and THEN figure out why at least 38 of us a day are knocking our own shells out voluntarily. Is it all the same in the end? Sure, and thanks for that...but there's a higher level no one seems to figure out without talking to other fucked up combat vets to stay here. Not a single Therapist has connected.
I hope you recognize that the person wearing the black chasing the red, were the same person. Now if the black was the failure or the red, I guess is up to you...but one caught up with the other and it's just fucking gone. Don't ask what you did with it. Or you carry the scars of it with pride.
the song that really got to me was five finger death punch - coming down. In the music video, one of the characters starts giving away his possessions before trying to end it all. My friends and family know I've attempted before but what I've never told anyone was I very nearly succeeded and I actually had been giving my stuff away before I attempted again. So when I saw that in the video... It made me ugly cry. Because that was me.
I need a therapist that can be as easy to talk to and to explain myself to. I love the way you explain your ideas of the music that I love to listen to. I've seen a couple of your videos and I am so taken by the way you come across. The facial reactions you have are also freaking awesome. Keep it real!!!!!! Respect!!!!!
Heavy metal music took me from being a total basket case to having a better life than i could ever have hoped for no joke i would have been dead long ago but for hearing that i was not the only one .ps this woman is funking annoying lol
The videos are disturbing to me but I think it’s the artist and the edgy that makes there oldest fans feel like they still have the dude edge thing! Sir Nard and the tools loves to provoke! They love to stretch the limits and that’s why we love them!

Reaching out for help is difficult to say the least and as a man much of society will even look down on them as if they are weak. My own experiences have not helped rather quit the opposite; feeling less than, beyond repair and worthless. My kids joke I’m too crazy to be fixed because I have had two different therapist stop seeing me both within the first couple of visits. I have tried and calling to others about it to have them act as if it an inconvenience to them. I push it deeper and deeper until it chokes me.

Factually though this music is incredibly unhealthy. Neurologists would definitely disagree. She is literally leaving out many facts that matter. Frequency matters. Frequencies destroy your mind and body. I can't even believe she made this video. Disgusting. Oh and yes words do create frequencies that manipulate and harm people's health.
Love what you guys do here. So many people don’t understand that songs like this lift people up. Between BMTH, Shinedown and anything from Corey Taylor; the emotion and truth behind what they sing lifts people up. Just knowing that others have been there means the world when you are there.
At my age, 14 im going through this too, and as NF did i lost my mother by pills so my father broke up with her But then he married an alcoholic person and From that time on ive been alone and only my 16 year old sister would care about me. But my father cares about me too But hes always at work so i cant be with him and at the age of 4 i had a glass vase fall on my head so i was in surgery for 1 month But my step-mom threatend me alot so i ended up crying all night and at the age of 7 i lost my best friend and then it started going the oppisite and ive been to like 11 therapists and NONE of them could help and now im lonely But with the song Therapist Session and IM UPSET. I never had friends or real place to call real home now i try avoiding my step-mom and recently at school people hate me and as he said as he got threatening messages on the song Therapist Session. Please if you see this, give me advice
You know people always say to make sure you call an emergency hotline when you feel suicidal, but the hotlines literally do nothing for you how do you actually find real help how do you find someone who actually understands instead of just parroting pre-programmed responses to something out of a fear that they'll actually I don't know relate to you and then they're so worried about triggering you that they can't tell you that they hear the screams inside your head? I'm so tired of believing these lies trying to tell need this existence I'm in is somehow worth something and worth fighting for when no one can tell me where to go. No one can tell me that there's ever an end. And no one ever says anything but the same semantics and and platitudes programmed into the synopsis in our brain from the moment we are exposed to something uncomfortable online. Where do you find real help? Where do you go when you need to find the truth and actual answers instead of platitudes? Cuz I've been trying since 2017, and to be honest even after coming back from the 10 attempts I made?? I STILL can't figure it out, and this world is somehow different and darker and so much more heartless then the one that I thought I lived in, I was preparing my son for. The self worth I once had that fanned and provided life support to that in perceivable spark beneath the coals of what was once my extensive belief and Hope and Faith in the universe and humanity...that worth has been violently beaten from me, and that spark was the ONLY source of strength I had to draw from and use to fight for... Ugh, there I go in attention sing way too much that you don't need to know. I'm just saying I'm sick of everyone going if you're in trouble call the hotline or if you didn't get help but no one says where to get help or how will simultaneously speaking as the saving your own life from the demons birds in your head to protect you is an easy task. That's all.

My mother would inspect me before school, tell me to fix my hair, my makeup. I could play basketball in stilettos. Then my stepfather began conveting me, brought my mother a dozen roses so he could bring me one. Ended their marriage and she hated me. My Mother Gothel. Not allowed to have opinions apart from her. So many rapes. Broken hearts. In the closet. The world was a closet. Now 50+ my body is falling apart. I should have done so much more, back when I didn't know I had cptsd, back when I could work. Parkinson's from the medication. Need a motorized wheelchair. Who wants to paint my mask? I feel like putting saran wrap and duct tape down to my neck. 🤘🏻
