it doesn't matter that harms outweigh the benefits or vice versa. i fail to see how its anyone's call to put those two on a scale when its about another person's welfare. another human that has no saying in the matter. Harm is a thing, and is by itself the reason its immoral to make a person.

let's go sci-fi, let's say someone sends you to another dimension to do something. you were sent without your knowledge. how would you feel?. and once there, this person tells you that you must do as told and that you are supposed to be grateful for what they did. eternally grateful. how would that make you feel?. let's us say that your job is to take care of them when old. how would that make you feel?

My life has been a nightmare. And my mum can't explain why she did it. Despite if some siblings get on in this life; it doesnt despite the fact one child can be having an extremely bad experience. It's uncomfortable for her to give me a valid reason why she gave birth to me (2nd born); moreso giving birth to even two more children after me in a low income household. Also my dad too should explain, he was probably just a pleasure seeker without planning financially for "4 kids" being broke poor (not recollecting any financial provision) and deported back to Africa.. Repeating the poverty cycle. Some pointless regime! Do people actually think about anything but pleasure before they have sex? Antinatalism comes across this sort of "cry baby", "victim mindset" as if it's crying over spilt milk; but I tell you the truth, I've been an antinatalist for most of my childhood, and adolescence, before i even knew it had an absolute definition. I always wished I was never born. I suffered with a lot of genetic defects, had a lot of physical abnormalities, wasn't intelligent in school and not the most attractive. Bullied and suffered rejection. Grew up in a poor socio-economic household, single mother parented after my dad was forced away from us by a devouring mother who never let me grow up. Physically abused by my mother violently as behavioural discipline, and turned out a gambling addict, hedonist and binge drinker with no friends , no ambition, no financial success and no future. I didn't ask to be born in the first place so am I to blame for my own failures? Why do people have so much expectations of us, to follow the notions, career's, crappy jobs in a world I did not consent to participate in? The parents take no accountability that they've taken a sole "gamble" on whichever outcome the life of that child will transpire; despite whichever means they try to give guidance? That the harmful society around us has far more of an influence than any upbringing or moral parenting? That humans are inherently evil, selfish and flawed no matter how hard we try to be perfect ("Saints" quote-on-quote), and only corruption will be a result of any procreation. I grew up as a Christian, because it was just the inherited religion of old through my grandmother, but I cannot say I know what the truth is. Life is so dangerous, cold, and selfish; each one out for themselves and fundamentally - MONEY will always be the most important dependency. Nobody really cares about anyone, or anything more than their money. I've moved away from religion and started to embrace "reality" and stop being weak escaping through fear & comforting fantasies indoctrinated by religion, and facing the truth of this existence and that we are the only ones capable of making a change. At the end of the day, yes I would have rather had a good life experience, had an intimate relationship with a beautiful spouse, nice peaceful home, became a sports athlete; but my dreams never came true. However I do agree that non-existence outweighs the good and the bad. Not experiencing pleasure has no harm if you don't exist in the first place. But the experience of pain, boredom and suffering is the default. Pleasure is only an escape from pain - that's all it is. So the odds are not in your favour being born. Growing old, dying, needing to eat, sleep, wash, brush teeth over and over again.. go to work etc... Life is actually just a burden. No pleasure is worth living for. If life was written to you as a contract, would you sign it? It's a complete waste of time, and I'm surprised humans are still doing it. There's actually nothing amazing about it. There are far more negatives. If the intellect is there, I don't see why people are still procreating. I think it's the sexualisation of the western society. Sex can be great, but it can be done to be enjoyed safely without the consequences of procreation. Or if you want to be really selfless; go celibate. Either way I'm definitely on the antinatalist side of the spectrum, despite if we differ on safe sex Vs celibacy.

Having kids is bad for your relationship, your health, your wallet.. the environment, and also for your kid. There is no need to create another human.

While talking with women you can also add that how women suffer entirely risking their lives to produce or deliver a child , sometimes twins or triplets because they go through extreme pain sleepless nights and some men are least bothered with their suffering and also cheat them on this basis as female body changes drastically during pregnancy and after giving birth

I am wondering how is it that atheist are able to recognize (and use it as argument against god) all the pain and suffering so many kids have to endure but see nothing wrong with the perpetuation of this pain and suffering via procreation. how and why justify this?

I am sooo sorry I wasn't there. My mum got ill that day and also I have an eating disorder that makes it extra difficult for me to go meet people. But I really planned to show up. But I think I would have missed the place, because I had noted a different adress... Maybe good I didn't come because I wouldn't have found you. Anyways I want you to know, that I exist, as an antinatalist in Vienna. Just because I didn't show up doesn't mean I was not with you. 👍👍👍 But I am always on RU-vid and I see EVERYTHING. Fertility rate in Europe is rather low. Such "campaigns" should be done especially in Africa (higher fertility rate and lower life condtions)

you know, in the end it is a bit difficult to convince people about AN. breeders, like religious people, justify their belief , their actions based on emotions so, trying to argue with logic and reason against something which is based on emotions and the irrational is pretty difficult.

Sometimes a simple urge to dafakate while being in public can cause you to suffer HUGELY, People always talk about very terrible illnesses as a source of suffering, completely ignoring "small" reasons for suffering... I am suffering hugely when I hear someone sing foolishly nearby.... People say "grape" is a violation of someone's autonomy, Making other people listen to your foolish singing can feel just as bad as being graped cuz their ugly voice is violating your autonomy

Lawrence, did you have been physically attacked by someone you tried to convince them that having children is wrong? My brother pushed me, because of it and denigrated me for a while, lol. He was so bitter & toxic to me for many months, the ego is real man.
