thank you again for those who supported & commented last video! pls check the description before commenting - I feel like I’ll get a lot of similar ones to those on pt. 1 T__T
Toro Y Moi, legendary artist, also made an album embracing his Filipino identity. The album cover also has one of the most gorgeous jeepneys I've seen so far. The Golden Gate Bridge at the background was cool too. Also made a short film with Eric Andre driving it around, he is big on the indie and hip hop space from having collaboration with Travis Scott. And Tyler The Creator being one of his BIGGEST fans literally. Well. WATCH THE SHORT FILM, you will never regret it.
@@alelauuWill you be doing part 3? You forgot Charice but I guess it’s cause he’s not famous anymore… He was literally destined to be the first asian superstar in music, he was on Alvin & The Chipmunks and Glee, he’s been on Oprah multiple times, sang with Celine Dion, i could go on and on but the real devil of it all is his mom who talked crap about him on national television when she profitted of him the most.
@@lightdarkequivalent7143 I didn't suspect my friend to be a Filipino since they don't show it a lot, unlike me who's profile picture and characters are literally animals from the Philippines (my profile picture is a Philippine Tarsier btw) Edit: IDK WHY IT'S GUMI NOW
A "White Filipino" or an Insulares is a person with Spanish parents born in the Philippines during the colonial period. So they're Spanish, but culturally Filipino.
Doesnt this imply the existence of race though? How can they be Spanish if they were born in the Phillipines. White or not, that makes them Filipino period. Phenotype or genetics shouldn't have anything to do with ethnic identity
@@NoNumbersAtTheEnding I just watched a video by a Filipino-history historian, I'm guessing it's to distinct what was the colonial "Filipino" (Spanish-bred Philippine local), and the modern "Filipino" (Filipino-bred and/or Philippine local)
It makes sense. I mean, if they revealed themselves as Pinoy, they might going to be in trouble. Especially if Pinoys, like their family if they are not in good terms, still have that plastic/crab mentality.
We Filipinos are like sleeper agents, just one mention of our country or anything related to us just awakens that hidden urge to just go… _Uy, narinig ko yun._
5:40 he also plays one of the main side characters in Grimm . I didn't know he was Filipino until Season 5 where there was an episode focusing on his character and they fight a mananangal Edit: ANTHONY PADILLA IS FILIPINO???🤯🤯🤯 Edit 2: THE QUEEN OF SPAAAIIIIN?!!!
Hi! I'm a newcomer and I'm a Filipino from Cebu lol and I have more Filipino celebs to introduce to you hehe (you might not know all of them tho) -Darren Criss - he starred in Glee i think and he also played Andrew Cunanan in the Donatello Versace series -Eva Noblezada - she played as Kim in the 25th anniversary of Miss Saigon i believe -Rachelle Ann Go - she played Eliza in the West End production of Hamilton and she was also Gigi in the 25th anniversary of Miss Saigon -honorable mention: Sandara Park from 2NE1 - i know she doesn't have filipino blood lol but she was basically raised in the Philippines and was also famous here for a while I might edit this list if I remember some more, these are all I remember on the top of my head lol Great video! EDIT: I forgot to mention Acai! He's one of my favorite guitar hero youtubers (yes there are guitar hero youtubers) and i watch him from time to time 😅 EDIT 2: I also forgot to mention Gordon Cormier, the actor for Aang in Netflix ATLA
Most Filipino Singers that are popular worldwide are almost always part American. Like Olivia Rodrigo, Lyn Lapid, Bruno Mars, Vanessa Hudgens, and many more. I'm seeing a pattern here haha.
11:08 Jay Chang mentioned! He didn't debut with zb1 but he has debuted as a soloist, then the main vocalist of One Pact, and a member of B.D.U. He's in 2 groups now, please check them out ❤
@@alelauueven plenty of the bug fix didn't resolve the PH bots spawning and it's been plagueging the servers scenes the beginning XD By the way great video Sis :- )
I feel like Filipinos are so diverse (because we are) that we're able to blend in and pass off as other ethnicities, especially in acting, yet we don't get recognition for just being Filipino until we have to point it out. It's kind of like a double edged sword.
I found out that my top favorite artist, underscores, is half filipino!! she talks about it in an EP under her other moniker "milkfish" where she says her mother is from Dagupan City, which is one of the largest exporters of bangus (milkfish) in the Philippines. This is also explains her album "Fishmonger" as it's kind of about an old article talking about a rare golden bangus.
And yet there's still even more that you didn't mention, oh my Lordy filipinos ARE everywhere There's also this latest Transformers incarnation, and the main characters which i assume is partly filipino because of their father, Alex Malto (Voice actor is a Filipino-American Jon Jon Briones) is incredibly open about his filipino heritage, there's even in this one scene where him and his wife Dorothy Malto do the tinikling dance with their children, and there's also an episode dedicated to mythological creature called a Wakwak and his lolo used to teach him all about it He's also a Bumblebee fan, coincidently, since you talked about Hailee steinfeld in the first vid also being part filipino, She's the main human character in the Transformers Bumblebee Movie Honestly, Filipino Bumblebee fans for the win
You’re similar to my friends! I always tell them that it’s never too learn to late ^^ start by asking your parents what certain everyday words mean and go from there - thank you for stopping by!!
If you ever do authors or filipinos behind the scenes….i think melissa dela cruz author of one of disney’s successful franchise “descendants” is someone not to forget abt
damn i shouldve commented this on the first one, but Breanna Yde is half Filipino! She's known for: - being a lead actress in Nickelodeon's School of Rock, playing Tomika, - playing Frankie in Haunted Hathaways - being the voice actress of Ronnie in Loud House She's also a musician!
For internet personalities, there’s Karina from Drawfee who’s half Filipino! She’s mentioned the Philippines many times and included cultural references in the art she does in the show (e.g. Bonadobo). She also drew a lot of the CollegeHumor comics one would randomly see on the internet.
Best Filipino representation for me is the warrior in Dune 2 that fought Feyd-Rautha, and also the stunt coordinator in the Dune movies. The house of Atreides fighting style is based off of the Filipino martial arts of Kali. Timothee Chalamet basically be fighting using Arnis sticks
One of the unexpected things to be revealed as a Filipino is that a former Odd Future rapper Hodgy was half-Filipino because he had his Filipino grandma.
For Kpop/Khiphop there's Dok2 (pronounced Dokki) who is a half filipino and half korean who started rapping in the early-mid 2000s as a teenager. He's one of the most influential and prestigious rappers in korea and was invited of Bigbang (one of if not the biggest/most influential kpop groups) back when they were still being formed.
Music producer Chad Hugo from The Neptunes produced songs for Beyonce, Jay Z Justine Timberlake, Sza, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Daniel Ceasar, Brent Faiyaz and many more
I had a cheese pimiento sandwich for lunch. Anyway, I might as well mention AC Bonifacio, she was in Riverdale, though that was after I stopped watching. I know her entirely for her dancing since I discovered her when she did Gimme That with Felip of SB19.
Thrash band Death Angel are Pinoy diaspora. For Voice Actors, Anne Yatco, Ratana and Christian Banas are the obvious examples to me, knowing them through Genshin. But Megumi Nakajima is half Filipina and actually sang a great cover of Smokey Mountain's Kailan.
Wow. Old icons are fading away. Youth of today don't know these people. Lou Diamond Phillips had his stardom in the late 80's and early 90's. He was in La Bamba, Young Guns 1 and 2 ans Stand and Deliver. Rob Shnieder is a Saturday Night Live alumni who had an ok movie career, nut not many lead roles. By the way, to say Metallica is just a heavy metal band is a severe understatement. They are the biggest, most popular and most successful heavy metal band in the world.
I'm one of those filipinos who's annoyed at filipinos being obnoxious but lowkey I eat all these content up. I'm unfortunately the audience of the pinoy-bait content (not saying this video is one but yk what i mean) and am obsessed on discovering filipinos in the media/showbiz industry(?). There's definitely a lot more out there but I do think ending it here is for the best. Love the videos kababayan x (I cringed at that too).
LOL I totally get what you mean - I was low-key going into a rabbit hole when I was going through some of these comments, I would get SO tired if I included every single one 😭😭😭 thank you for the support beh x
Aya Natsumi is NOT half japanese. She's pure Filipino as confirmed by her mother. Her first name is Aya Natsumi (sounds japanese, I know, but that's it); Surname is Bolinao.
