Big fan of your videos. Love your boat, and this exact one is my dream boat. Northern Marine seems to build a no-nonsense rugged trawler with excellent craftsmanship and details throughout!! Good luck on your future adventures.
Hi Mike and Mia thanks for sharing your experiences. I have been a huge fan of Northern Marine Boats for years. I will be taking delivery of a new Nordhavn 68 in August and look forward to following you and maybe sharing an Anchorage some day.
Holes in fiberglass and machine screws are not a very good match. The fiberglass will get cracks sooner or later. The screws often get loose after a while. If you put a nut and a washer behind it's much better. Many manufacturers of smaller power boats often use this technic to connect the deck and the hull and I have seen a lot of those boats get problems with the hull and deck joint where when the hull and deck joint is glued and has nuts and bolts it will last much longer.
