Deep Rock is what modern gaming should be

The two words I'd describe DRG wouldn't be "cooperation refined" Instead it'd be "ROCK" and "STONE"!

I honestly believe that the phrase "rock and stone" carries more than 50% of the influence of this game I can't think of any other game that can link two strangers together with just 3 words

The best parts of DRG cooperation : 1 - no matter how you`re good, it`d take tons of time to do everything on your own. Yes, Mr. Driller 1337, that cave leech that caught you 200m from us, cause you drilled to visible cave system will demonstrate it to you. 2 - vast moments of peace with *no enemies whatsoever* , when you *have time* to cooperate via pings or MUSHROOM helps a lot. I can`t imagine something like that in Vermintide/L4D, which i adore. Partialy, cause in those game you know where stuf could be and couldn`t, while in DRG you could find 1 smal dot in the corner, which is Enor perl mark deep inside or hear a loot crate beeps throught the wall, which add new objective for nearest minute 3 DRG comunity have established rules, which are passed to each greenbeard dared to play few public games alone. 4 Voice comands on everything. If you ignorent to pings or pressing CTRL every few secs - you still know what your teammates are doing. Digging, shooting, depositing, pinging something important - you don`t need to see it, unless they`re over ~100 meters from you 5 Every class is distinct in it`s role and you can learn how to play by simply watching ppl around you do stuff. Even tho they can use unlocked weapons and overclocks - they`re still specialised at same as a class. Understanding your fellow dwarf helps you understand your role and keeps the immersion on

As much as I love helldivers 2 I feel it has yet to come even close to what the deep rock community has achieved for themselves. In my 600 hours of playing deep rock I have only ran into 1 persons who was a complete dick. But in helldivers I expect to be shot before entering the drop ship or kicked for not doing what the host deems the correct way to play I’m not saying it’s 100% of the time but at least a good 30-40% of the times

Speedplay and modded difficulties really push this game’s cooperative gameplay to the maximum. Speedplay can be art when performed well, and modded forces every class to perform their role perfectly. 2500 hours in and I’m still not bored. A 3 minute egg mission, a 10 minute refinery, or a hardcore modded true solo will do that to a dwarf.

DRG should be the Golden standard that ALL Coop horde shooters should hope to acheive no pay to win almost all drip is not paid for at and its not 70 bucks for a laggy mess Rock and Stone brothers

I have 1,200 hours in DRG. One of my absolute favorite things about it is it's time efficiency, I love queing a mission when I need to charge my airpods or if I need a breather from my treadmill or I need my food to heat up. Ive had days where Ive finished 3 missions in under an hour and didn't sweat a drop doing so. It's a timeless game I never get sick of

im glad people are still making these types of videos. brings me back to when i wasnt able to play this game, and i just watched loads of content for it. good times

DRG has a better foundation currently than other coop games that die within months because they lack needed features that would be added after their battlepass is finished, the game lets you learn and refine your skill over time that is more visible compared to coop games that sometimes let the players with the highest level weapon win, and that base game without the seasons has carried the game mostly to this day, its just that the base game and endgame content has felt ignored mostly for seasons instead that I go through within a month, hopefully rogue core will provide a good future, also DRG survivor feels meh with all the overclocks mostly being stat upgrades also

Your inclusion of the fan-made music for the game is just the perfect highlight for the video. There is no other coop game like DRG (Helldivers sure does try, good for them). I wish you mentioned it somewhere that those songs were fan-made though, they deserve their own shoutout and it's another testament to how good the game is, and how closely tied the developers and the fans of this community are. About class weaknesses, I think you missed few important aspects of them. Gunner has very big ammo pool, can take whole hordes o himself and ensure safety of his team, but his mobility is the worst of all dwarves (not only his traversal tool, even his primaries slow him down when firing). Engineer is jack of all trades and has very strong firepower, but his ammo economy is the worst of all classes, and he kinda lacks in personal defence. Driller eats thru swarms and is great at terraforming, but as u said, sucks at range combat and he also lacks in terms of high dps. Scout has the best mobility tool, has flair gun and is great at taking down high value targets, but he has weak crowd clear, and his travelsal tool is the only one that doesnt give anything to his teammates (plats, tunnels and ziplines can be used by everybody). All classes have something that others dont, and they cover each other weaknesses

Top 3 co op games. Warframe, DRG, Helldivers 2

I like other aspects of the game, like the silliness of the Space Rig and all the little details that the devs have put in, but the core aspect of the game seems like a time sink with little to no significant reward. The other thing is that the build structure seems completely played out. I see the appeal, but the game is too similar to the 'same-y-ness' of games like Left for Dead or Gears of War. You're essentially just running over the same ground (or under, as the case may be), indefinitely to pass time. Level ups feel less impactful knowing there's nothing significant waiting for me at the endgame outside of (again) long discovered and laid out modifiers for the existing abilities. If you like the kinds of games that I listed above and enjoy a simplistic 'horde mode' with gradually increasing difficulty and lots of grind, then by all means, pick it up. The community is extensive and there's lots to enjoy. Ultimately though, its not engaging enough for me without more significant progression or story. As a cooperative experience its interesting, but if you're looking for personalization or uniqueness in your build or the way you play, you won't find it here.

Helldivers 2:

Man, it's all wrong. Basically, DRG is a slasher co-op game. If DRG didn't allow you to control a situation with some amount of challenge, use your tactics in eliminating bugs, or satisfyingly wipe out waves of bugs - you wouldn't play it. It's that simple. If you like to play DRG - you'll definitely like to play Killing floor or other slasher-like game. So... DRG has no magic, its genre is just almost empty.
