Sandi.... I love your videos. I have an adult child with Autism. He and I watch your lambing videos together. He absolutely loves them and talks in his softest voice when the lambs are born. It's so stinking cute!! Watching your videos has turned into a special bonding time for us. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Thank you for giving me and my son something to watch and enjoy together. You are one heck of a woman!
I have a high functioning autistic son. When we sat down years ago and watched videos of Monk, the Office, King of the Hill I was able to explain what was funny and helped him learn those social skills he was so badly missing. As he would laugh with the sound track and I would ask him what was funny and he couldn't tell me. But it was our special bonding time as well. It lasted several years but he really benefited from it. I'm glad your boy is as well. If you notice that he is enthralled with a particular TV show, you might want to try that if possible. On King of the Hill they even had an episode of Isle 9 (sanitary napkins and tampons) and in the midst of the show, I could explain all that to this 20+ guy. You can't do it when it is a 'live' broadcast, but you have to be able to start and stop the show. I wish you success with your son. I despaired over mind when he was young, and now his works full time, and has a part time joy, has his own place, drives, has a healthy bank account, etc. These kids can surprise you. It took him until he was around 11 before he could 'kind of' tie his shoes. About 15 years ago out of the blue he told us about how he was working at the grocery store then, this old lady came up the isle he was working on with her shoes untied. He stopped her so he could tie them for her so she wouldn't trip. I cry all time whenever I think about it. Such a simple thing that no one really thinks it is a big deal, but I'm sure you understand how huge it was for me to hear.
@@mika72.-Bois isn't it though- my parents tried with me- finally at 17 I had success with shoe- tying (yeah high end Spectrum but it was years and years until it was formally confirmed). We just have a slightly different mother- board but truly cool individuals 😀
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing your story- same with everyone with the comments! My brother is severely autistic and we are really close. Age and bond! We were born 13 months apart and are “Irish twins”! I usually try to find new ways for him to feel welcome in the family because sometimes it’s hard, especially since we have a 3 year old sister and have such an age gap. And since I am a year older than him I just graduated to a different school and it’s a big change for both of us. Idk why but I feel like sharing a bit of a story time about some kids bullying from a personal experience with my brother and why bonds are so important. Here it goes! So we were both in elementary school, walking to the bus when these kids that were younger than me but the same age as my brother (his name is logan) were teasing him about his stimming. For those that don’t know, stimming is usually a movement that goes kinda fast like knocking your knuckles on the palm of your hand, or in his case- making little sounds and rubbing his hands together. back to the story!! So these kids were mocking him and making fun of him. He started to get anxious and holding my hand. I went over and told them that that was really rude and that they should stop. They immediately did because I was a year older than them. My brother just stared at me smiling while we got on the bus. (My mom then got him a shirt that said “You don’t scare me, I HAVE SISTERS.”) anyways, thanks for listening to one of my story! Sorry for all the typos, spelling errors and more lol.
@Sandi : If i have lambs that are panting with their mouth open and therefore to hot to cool off i dunk them in the water trough. Perked them right up all the times i had that problem. The water evaporates and takes a lot of heat with it, so the mothers milk is no longer overheating them and the breathing is slowed enough for them to be able to drink/eat. And they need loads of fluid when panting like that since it uses up so much water.
What a lovely lady you are! So calm, just helping lambs out with a gentle pull, turning round the right way, and keeping track of whose who most of the time …..I loved you with the little black and white marked lamb that got your attention…so cute! You took me back to years ago when I started out with just five two horned jacobs sheep and one welsh beulah…I’d never kept sheep before but the first time they lambed I never went to bed..was so worried something might go wrong, but those girls knew what to do, and by morning it was like the lid that been taken off a pan of popcorn,! All had at least twins, two had triplets, and the beulah who had been with the Jacob ram produced a large completely brown baby. But all the others were cute little black and white spotted babies like the one you cuddled. We started with 6 and by the following morning had 13 lambs!, increasing our little flock from 6 to 19! So I don’t envy you with however many you had to start with. I’ve never seen one i”in Labour lamb “ going to try and get the baby from the one giving birth before..that was new to me, your flock is very lucky to have you as their “shepherdess”…so kind and affectionate to everyone and trying to film at the same time as midwifery took place! Knowing a small part of what it’s like to have sheep in the throes of. Giving birth, I applaud you for doing so well with them all. Always a brilliant feeling to witness a new life come into the world and the speed they get to their feet and search for food is amazing. Many thanks for sharing, and good luck next spring! Best wishes Helen in the U.K. 🙋♀️💐👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to edit and post these videos in your busy, busy days!! You could rightfully take the time to yourself when it arises, but you make use of every moment and choose to fit your RU-vid family into your schedule for us to be a part of it all. Seeing someone passionate about what they do juices me up!
I don't see why people don't like your videos I am enjoying your videos I am watching them everyday and I learned something new have a great week God bless take care
This is so awesome, so many Mama's and tiny babies being born. I absolutely love your channel. Y'all are so good and loving with all the Mama's and babies.❤️🥰❤️
@@susanfrey7065 well Sandi says she likes to have them close together on Lambing but not sure she wants them quite that close. That is one way to get it done and over with though.
What an outstanding lambing video today!!! So many bundles of cuteness overload!!! Especially little Mr. Holstein!!! You're definitely keeping him as a new Ram right... RIGHT?!?! We all know YOU LOVE HIM!!! Also, all of us viewers agree, and already voted YES!!! Sandi is to keep as many painted rams born this season as possible, especially Mr. Holstein!!! I know lambing is very hardon you, but it's also very rewarding. You always come out on top and so overjoyed and filled with love of your new additions to your flock. Can't wait to see what new additions you choose from this breeding!!! Thanks for today's video!! Such an amazing one full of life's miracle. LOVE IT!!! My days are complete with Sandi and her Sheep!! I am one of Sandi's Sheeple!!
My wife says I am crazy, I am sitting here giggling at those proud mamas and cuties. Going "Awe..." all the time. Sandi with the all-star play by play !! Oh Sandy "I don't know where to be" is such a good problem!
Hubby used to think i was crazy too. Especially when i told him that i had given our dog fresh hay 😂(aka dog food) But now he watches with me and imitates the baaaaa's 🐑

@@mariagbayeh3592 not as much my dad runs a full on sheep farm as big as hers we did lambing none stop for about 5 years this kind of thing is definitely not a rare occurrence and sheep are not as emotionally attached as humans so tend to get over it pretty quickly
@@mariagbayeh3592 nah animals aren’t humans and don’t milk a stillborn for attention and shit. It’s just a matter of nature, nothing to be torn about. If you think this is callous live on a farm lol.
Oh my word!! The black and white one is just the cutest 😍. I absolutely love watching your channel. It has helped me through some trying times recently. I just love watching how happy your lambs are and all the cute babies that are born
That little nugget, that looks like a panda….CAN YOU STAND THE CUTENESS !?! And that mama ewe stamping her foot at you…I was cracking up ! And 39 in one day ? Holy moly, lady !!!
I recently discovered your videos and spend ALL MY FREE TIME catching up (I am a freelance artist living in Ecuador/mom of a 2 year old so my free time is precious) and I so love watching all your videos. Keep it up! You even inspired me to vlog for a week to show folks what a week is like in my life. We'll see how it goes! Love you and your lambs immensely 😀😀😀
They might be bieing or sick or is very sick and needs to go to the doctor or vet or it is so sad I am crying because it is so important because lames are so interested
39 in one day!!! Sandi and Carissa (sp?) def need some coffees and a good break. all those new lil lambies are so adorable! cant wait for the Lamb stampedes to begin!
I catch myself grunting and holding my breath whenever I watch a ewe giving birth . . . I’m gonna have to stop that somehow before I have an accident of some sort. Lol
I am sorry for your loss of Goat and then G2…. 💔💔😢😢 I know you do the best you with your actions and thought process. And then you had to send you a little bird out of the nest on top of it. That’s a hard day for moms and dad‘s I know. Please be safe and God bless you and yours. From Maryland in the USA. ♥️🌹
My husband came in from outside and heard the birds in your barn. He turned around and looked outside thinking we had birds flying over our house! When he looked back in and realized I was on a video with you, he said is she raising lambs or birds?!! 😂🤣😂🤣
Dang when those ewes start having lambs it is quick and fast. What happened to the lamb pram? That little one you were ready to tag was so cute. Sure looked content you just holding it. I would say name that one Happy. I am glad it was you trying to sort all those ewes and lambs. I agree if they will love them then give them the lamb. When you showed the newest big mama I am saying 4 lambs is what she will have. Lol should she get a temp sign saying watch out for wide mama coming thru. Sorry I feel for her as I bet she is very uncomfortable right now. Thanks for the video as it made my day. 🐏🐑
So much fun and excitement for us to watch labor and you helping those who need it! Fascinating to learn about daily life with Sandi! From Dallas, Texas!
What a wonderful way to start the day. The sun shinning through your beautiful barn over 2 new lambs. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy. What a beautiful black and white lamb.😇
This lovely video helped to lift my mood . There has been much discussion regarding languished feelings and how difficult it is to shake it of. This has shaken my tree and I feel much better. Thank you
Another busy day. Babies are adorable. The black and white lamb💕. You look cute in your overalls. She was probably exhausted having twins. Have a great day.🙏🙏🇺🇸
This made me cry, I miss all my sweet animal babies. After I was done with 4-h and FFA, in 2014 i had a medical emergency and did die twice. It brought back all my good memories. I enjoyed those days, I am disabled and could not keep up I only have a quarter ofy lungs that work. So it takes me alot.
That little black and white lamb looks like a heffer cow. I love watching your baby videos, because babie lambs are sooo darn cute. But I think heifer is my favorite lamb I have seen yet ever. I have been watching you for along time too. Love you sandy take care, stay safe, hugs to you all.
Hi again SANDI The cutest lamb ever!!!! Can hardly believe that many in one day and you'll soon be done!! Wow!! For as long as I've been following you I never have seen such a lambonh as this. Hectic for a bit but then all done. Thinking that's a better way then dragging it out. You won't be soo tired this time yay! Thx as always for sharing..
I really admire you and I love this channel. You are a multitasking queen in that barn with so much to keep track of. Your uploads are a highlight of my day. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
We gave up wiping calves down with cleanings, etc to see if a cow would adopt it. Found out by accident, we pour milk(replacer) on the calf. Cow will like it up and voila, smells like her now. Worked ever time.
I love having my little "farming fix" every few days. Those lambs and their Mamas are just gorgeous. And Sandi, you are such a fabulous midwife, nanny, comforter, and human friend to all those Mums and Bubs. Cheers, from New Zealand.
Sandi, you are amazing! I never cared much about sheep until I found you. You are so sweet to the animals, talking to them and helping them give birth! I love your videos! Take care and God bless you! 💜
There is always a concert going on. Some alto, some bass. One could almost see how many kids there are in the tummies. Almost bursting. Good job, mummys.
You hold your head up Sandy!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of your videos. I love watching them. It's very educational. For those of you who give Sandy negative feed back don't watch if you can't take what you see.
Never been so early. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us Sandy! Your authentic self is truly inspiring. I love watching your updates on IG too. Only got IG to get see the daily updates. Stay safe and take care. Love from Germany
Omg, the sound of lambs calling out is bringing back so many memories of me being a mum to two lambs, I have sheep and two mums rejected their babies so I looked after them die a couple of months, loved looking after them and being their mummy
I grew up on a sheep farm in Western Australia. The difference is 5000 head of sheep run on 10,000 acreage and live and graze, also lamb all on there own. Very little human intervention. They are bought in twice a year, to be shorn, wormed and dipped vet checked. Wow so different to your set up. Just comparing such different ways of farming sheep. The world is so diverse. Your panda lamb is so very sweet!!
So glad for this video! Sad to see his siblings die! 😢 but such is life. Prayers that they are in Sheep heaven. Sandy you are such a strong woman! I would be crying every day. Bless you!
Wow these sheep have a lot of babies. I grew up on a sheep farm in the 60-70's, our sheep had one lamb a few had twins, once a set of triplets, we bottle fed one. We sold fleece, and the sheep free ranged, keeping undergrowth down, in fenced pasture, except during lambing.
A lot of it depends on the breed. Most modern meat breeds have the genetic now for multiple births. The breed Sandi uses for her ewe flock is Rideau-Arcott which is a Canadian meat breed bred for good mothering skills, multiple births (all the way up to quints!) milk enough easily raise twins to good weaning weights and fast weight gain. They do however require careful feeding.
Sandi I know the situation. We only had 165 ewe flock. We had no lambs being born between 12 and 6, I was totally bushes, my wife says go back to bed,( 3 o'clock check), had to go check, 19 lambs all in a bunch, moms off eating at the bunk, put the lambs in a pen then each mom got a pen then handed out the babies. More came at 0600 then by 0900 things quite down. Went in for breakfast. 36 lambs in 1 day was my most.
If you want to cool the shed down. Wet the bare concrete areas. The barn will then cool by evaporation, it should send the temperature down by a few degrees.
Hi Sandy, Robin coming to you as a new subscriber from Wisconsin. I was born and raised a dairy farmers daughter along with my 2 sisters and mother. Us women worked as hard as Abby man just like you and your girls. So proud of you and your work. Thank you for sharing with us. Your videos are so many don't be worried we will get bored. My favorite is when you dressed Billy in a Holly "wreath" and Santa hat. I could watch the babies and mammas all day. I usually skip the "works" and machinery but I'm sure people are very interested in that. I just love the sheep and how you love them. It makes me feel good.
I just subscribed to your and I 100 % give you praise and lots of respect that’s a lot of work for just in a day. I glad most of them were doing well . This is a really cool video.
That ewe with the dead lambs that you fostered the black lamb onto looks like she's not bouncing back. Likely you've given pain meds and antibiotics? Give your poorly lambs 60 cc 5% dextrose subcu to perk them up and vitamaster.
a) you said you needed new rams anyway so that new one is a keeper and b) hey Marky Mark! Where's your dog?? (making the beer sign at Sandi when she's working - sheesh! LOL #superfan
Look at all these proud mamas and their little nuggets. You should be very proud yourself. I can see how hard you have to work. Love your channel and just subscribed. I’m so glad I found you.
"If you love it, you can keep it" method of finding lambs' moms - I love that one lamb who loves all the babies, especially the itty bitty one. By that rule, I am allowed to keep all of the lambkins!! I will name them (Billy's mom should be named Willa, so everyone knows who she is related to!), I will feed them, I will shear them (double handed) and spin their locks and knit many things with their names on the tags! You are my inspiration, Sandi!! My own day-job is SO FAR from my center of happiness!
Oh you poor thing. I ended up on disability due to arthritis over 19 years ago. As a fluke I started selling books online which morphed into selling sewing patterns (I've been sewing for 50+ years) I am only NOW quitting as if I don't get some me time now I never will. But I never stuck with any job for more than a couple years. But the selling online and in my own niche I was doing it with hubby for 19 years. I had finally found my center of happiness! You can too! I also helps that we live where we can sometimes get snow 6-8 months out of the year. I am so glad I no longer have to drive in that yuck to get to work also! A real blessing from God!
Just after she opened the door into the barn, I swear I heard a cow moo!! It seems that the most beautiful are more often than expected - ram lambs. It's not fair! The girls never need to attract the rams, so maybe that's why. (I'm clueless! Why is that happening?)
There is one other possibility, if the color gene is located on the Y gene, from the XY pair, then the color would only show up on the males. But there are some females with some coloring, so I don’t think this is the case. Plus usually the chromosomes on the XY pair are associated with sex traits. Like the viability of spermicide, the mothering traits of the ewes and such. I think I would rather leave it to chance and get excited when the colored lambs pop out. They are so dang cute!
@@Papermoon310 There! Now that you say that - it makes sense. However we do have both male and females who are colored so I agree, logical as it is - I agree with you that it probably is not the case. But it does have me looking at different breeds of sheep to try to find sheep colored like Holstein cattle!
A PANDA BILLY LAMB! Addendum- lost count @ 19 or so! WHAT A DAY! Good job mamas and Carissa and Sandi!! Have to take a break now. That wore me out!!😹🤣😸😂😅
