What do you do when you go out to photograph in certain conditions and what you find isn’t what you expected? Do you give up? Decide to try another day? Or do you think, I’m here with my camera, let's see what I can do to bring home some decent photographs?
I went out on a nice foggy day to Maroondah Dam to get some shots of the trees in the fog, but by the time I got there, the fog had cleared, the day was just overcast and gloomy, and looked a bit dismal.
So I changed my expectations… I decided to work with the cards I was dealt, and went black and white, square crop and tried for some atmospheric photos.
I had my medium format Fujifilm GFX50R with a Voigtlander 85mm lens from a slide projector. Fixed aperture of f2.9. It was time for a bit of creativity…
