It's like he doesn't care. He's here to break people not learn a language. Incredible and he's better at LH than he was at middle. In fact. I will never know how he made 185. I don't want to know. Poatan, did not “just enter” the sport. He had been a world champion kickboxer for YEARS! The UFC is “mixed martial arts”. All fighting styles are welcomed. He happens to be the best kickboxer, and has gained some takedown defense in order to flourish in his mastery. Every fight, every round, starts on the feet, striking. If you can’t get him down… He does that better than you!
@Luke.1779
@Luke.1779 3 дня назад
I think a lot of mma guys dont realise that yes you can take someone like canelo or poatan down, but give canelo 1 year of sparring against kickers and grapplers and suddenly he could be champion. same goes with poatan. being a world champ martial artist will give you benefits in mma regardless of what it is imo.

There hasn't. I don't know how Alex makes lhw let alone how he made it to 185. He is apparently the hardest puncher of all time in any combat sport. Which you would not expect from someone with his tall and lankier build. His unmatched ko power combined with his elite level striking skills makes him almost unbeatable. He has a very unique accomplishment in starting 2023 as a champion in one division, and ending it as a champion in another division. He also seems to become more formidable the higher he goes up in weight. HW Poatan is going to be even more of a wrecking machine. Another interpretation is like electricity, or music, where in a corner, or pocket, is keeping the flowing rhythm. Also, to change the direction of that energy, you either need to torque it, or up the amperage and jump the gap, avoiding the corner pocket. Chama, fire, potential energy unleashed. You can say I'm "reading to far into it" but, I'll take umbrage and retort, "that's a purpose of poetry, to see how many layers of depth are hidden by the occulting surface visage". Power. Striking Technique. Ability to win title matches. Leg Kicks. Left Hook. Height. Chael is the man and his point remains, but those are a few tradeable things.

He's not afraid to lose. I know it might sound obvious, but I truly believe that's the case for him and not for many others. And when I say scared, I don't necessarily mean of the opponent, I mean stressing about money, opportunities and what not. That has to be quite liberating. Every time Alex loses, he gets up, shakes hands and starts getting ready for the next fight.

Pereira has accomplished so much that Uncle Chael is making a good faith effort to learn to pronounce his name 🔥 We now call “Pu-Harrah” the man who was once “Piera.” If he becomes champ/champ/champ, I think we’ll get the next evolution of Chael’s take on his name. “Pu-Harrah” said in a promo piece last night that he’s always evolving his game. Uncle Chael is no different.

Chael, I know you think Peyara was motivated to come back by the words of Izzy but local legend on the street is that he didnt take too lightly what you said about brazil.. ;)❤

Alex is a two division world kickboxing champion and former pro boxer that transferred to MMA. He’s insanely talented and accomplished, not a random guy who just came from off the street. He has taken his championship mentality and applied it to adding the grappling elements of MMA. Fortunately he has had time to work on this as he’s mostly had to fight other strikers like Izzy, Strickland, Hill and Jiri.

Chael was quick to point out how Connor exposed boxing as a fake sport..but it takes The Guru to say Alex Perreira is exposing MMA in the same way
@brandongratta9040
@brandongratta9040 16 часов назад
Conor also didn't expose boxing as fake. He showed that everyone will follow the money so it doesn't matter about your record. He very much got his ass handed to him though and showed we have different sports for a reason.
@onlyinacj1
@onlyinacj1 16 часов назад
@@brandongratta9040 while I agree that in the end Connor did get his ass handed to him, I tend to agree with Chael’s larger point, that Connor did faaar better than he should have. There’s no other sport this could be done with. There is absolutely no one who does wrestling part time, and wouldn’t get destroyed in the first min by a high school state champ. You’re not playing street ball part time, and will be competitive for even a min in the NBA. If you have great part-time boxing skills, you can go quite far in pro boxing. That statement would be the literal definition of embarrassment in any other sport..
@brandongratta9040
@brandongratta9040 15 часов назад
@@onlyinacj1 fair point but I would have to argue otherwise. Mayweather was a showman who after hand injuries and moving up several classes, stopped KO'ing and instead began to cruise to easy UD victories. Conor was his first TKO in 10 yrs if you exclude his Ortiz sucker punch. Not only that, but there is footage of May going to his corner smiling and saying "it's time!" Before stopping Conor the following round. Conor didn't do well because of his skill. It's because his opponent allowed him. Any other boxer of that caliber would've had him out in 2 rounds. Look at all the MMA fighters struggling to beat Jake Paul, who is an amateur in every sense of the word. I agree with your point on an amateur skill level, but in the pros the only thing exposed are the people crossing over
@onlyinacj1
@onlyinacj1 14 часов назад
@@brandongratta9040 how bout Ngannue? What Joshua did to him, I’d like to say EVERY pro should do that to him every single time. But we can’t honestly say Ngannou gets handled like that more than 7/10 times. Hell, Francis knocked down arguably the best ever. And practically speaking he just recently learned mma, and spent even less time boxing. Neither you nor I are EVER gonna get a hit off MLB pitcher…but if you are strong, and practiced boxing part time for few years..you can hang with the best ever, who’s been doing it full time since he was a child.

I agree Poatan is special win or loss he has only been in this sport for 2 2.5 years he can only get better and he has already made history and did what Izzy another future hall of famer was unable to do he may one day be the first 3 weight champ and he is the only many to win gold in kickboxing and mma in multiple weight classes he has the hardest recorded punch in human history and his fight I.Q. is off the charts the way he steps in and is saving these shows I'm a big fan of Alex and I wouldn't be suprised if he is the goat or one of them in UFC history when it's all said and done

He's the most decisive fighter ever. He moves on quickly and when his mind is made up it's made up. It shows in the ring and out of the ring. When it's time to throw the ending shot there's no hesitation. Even when he got knocked out by Izzy, it never really seemed to effect him at all. He just moved on, called him out one more time, didn't get the answer he wanted and moved on to the next fight.

Not sure why, but I don’t get as excited for his fights as several other (and likely lesser) fighters. I acknowledge his excellence and admire what an absolute gamer he is, but it just doesn’t go too far past that. 🤷🏻‍♂️
