Kargil was a bloody bow to us .Our soldiers were butchered.I don't think we have learnt anything from kargil. Same story will be repeating. Indian politicians and Gandu Army generals don't care what the troops have to go through. They will be killed and celebrated as martyrs....
Blame game will continue. Truth is our Military Intel officials and our archiac survellance technology were responsible for deaths of our brave soldiers.
The entire phenomenon called Kargil war happened due to terrible failure of intelligence and surveillance . In India, we didn't learnt the lessons from past blunder. Now my question is how can you negotiate for settlement with a party (China) on any issue when you are sure that they will definitely violate them in near future.
Yep they were caught off guard during KARGIL as well when the Hon General Malik was in charge they Army should Stop passing the buck and hold incompetent officers accountable! And they IA should stop blaming OTHER agencies for intelligence failures when they themselves are present on the ground !! At the FOB !! In Ladakh/ AP / Northwestern Borders they should realise by now that China will NOT rest until they take AP which they call southern Tibet one of the five fingers for the completion of the Middle Kingdom
India has been unable to bring US Manufacturer from China to India inspite all of this. Indians are not capable of building infrastructure that is needed for a china like Industrialization. It's so hard to even maintain an NRI/NRO bank account in India. They keep changing the rules so often, its confusing and frustrating.

Amit Shah ji should talk to the Chinese. As he declared in the Indian Parliament, he should tell the Chinese that "Aksai Chin is Indian territory and will be re-captured soon". His assertive voice will surely frighten the Chinese. But, ever since this border dispute erupted in May, Amit Shah ji has remained silent regarding this issue.
Yes, as he was alert during Kargil incursion. He himself faced acute inertia during first few weeks of Kargil war. He was the one who opposed the participation of Air Force and arranged the forces in hubris. The level of his strategic depth got exposed when he asked Musharaf that what we Indian should do on western front to help Pakistan since Pakistan is engrossed in war with TTP on its NWFP region. He must concentrate only in one thing, write books and appear on media to criticize government. Jai Hind
I feel that under Modi, India was focusing almost exclusively on Pakistan, and was counting on Modi’s personal relationship with Xi Jinping to contain China. Secondly, for meeting the populist promises in Modi 1.0, defence budget was given less priority notwithstanding public rhetoric of strengthening the armed forces. Otherwise why would Indians have to rush to the US even for winter clothing? OROP is another populist delivery to ex servicemen which is draining the defence budget. The handling of defence under this government is only marginally better than under UPA’s Saint Anthony.
The General was in charge during KARGIL and his troops were caught off guard by the Pakistanis so he is partly to blame for the high attrition during KARGIL operations it was the Brave Indian Jawan who carried the Flag Not the General!! The Army keeps failing on intelligence on the Northern Borders all the time Now they are grappling with the Chinese after the Brave Jawans stopped them at Galvan the Army needs to be PROACTIVE AND NOT REACTIVE ON THE NORTHERN BORDERS!! They can’t keep blaming the OTHER agencies for intelligence failures when they themselves are present on the Ground!!

The recent war between Armenia and Azerbaijan saw excessive use of armed and unarmed drones. The outcome of that war tilted in favour of Azerbaijani Army primarily due to there drone warfare capabilities. Don't you think it's high time that Indian military gets over the lust of fighter and combat aircraft and consider purchasing of armed aerial vehicles . The recent reports of 2 US drones deployed by Indian Navy in eastern ladhak which is on lease seems a good move . Moreover we should consider equipping ourselves with Israeli drones for better surveillance. What's the Snehesh's take on an army which is manpower dominated or an army which is technologically superior?
Hi Abhishek. Thanks for writing in. In answer to your query, do read my article here: theprint.in/opinion/brahmastra/drones-won-war-for-azerbaijan-india-must-spend-military-modernisation-money-wisely/548029/ -S.A. Philip
Nobody is talking or asking questions about the Mountain Strike Corps which began some years back, but was shelved for want of funds. Do we continue this raising? Or has it lost relevance?
It is too late now. Chinese have already occupied the areas. Army caught napping again just like 21 yrs ago under your watch. You are enjoying your retirement while some old parents silently weep for their young martyrs. Zero accountability for top brass.
China won't go back, unless it starts feeling the heat. India doesn't have enough military or economic power to make China tow it's line. Its has only option to either let the US in. Or play the long game of continuosly mounting military pressure.
You mean the US will come and fight for you ? India has in this case gone ahead and occupied some strategic heights. That is a good start and put a counter to unilateral Chinese movements in the border.
China has tested swarm drone technology sending weapon carrying multiple drones deployed from a truck. The small drones comes out of multiple tubes in the truck and spread out wings and fly like swarms controlled by the operator remotely. India also should have such drone deployment system.
No one want to hear errors and ignorance by Army and that is understandable. But we are paying heavy price it happen in kargil then doklam and now in ladakh. Problem is we think kuch nahi hoga and let down our guard then do damage control. Army leadership also should take responsibilties else same will happen in other front.
“Gen Malik said that while the short-term goal is status quo ante, the long-term objective should be to make the Chinese agree to delineation of the LAC on the maps. “ ““Because unless that is, these kind of intrusions and small actions that take place on the LAC will continue,” he said.”” There is a lot said in these two statements... In the wake of these statements, the big Q is how often and how much in detail should we be discussing these “intrusions and small actions” in the media where the perceptions and knowledge of “experts” vary. Also what is the aim of “informing” the public about the conjectured temporary uncertainties on an unresolved line. A public discussion on the ultimate resolution may benefit the Nation - “in the long run”. This is more in the domain of Diplomacy than in the hands of the Military.
Any path way to war is bad you can only have boarder issue with your neighbor but with economic tie and friendships you can mitigated China and India are condemned to live one close to the other long and costly war may be at the horizon but do not served anyone it's a loose loose solution prone by outside forces which has an agenda of it's own India and China are condemned to be friend. We must have in mind the complex military industry of the united States lobby in world politics and the huge jobs it's created in America
This is nothing new.. Indian armed forces always has intelligence failures. It can work to a certain extent with Pakistan but with china it comes a cropper. I think there is a policy issue where most of the borders are in the high mountains and the troops resting in the plains. Takes time to acclimatize and so there is a resource crunch. I think the army must station 1/4 th of the army in the high mountains to counter the Pakistani China and 1/4th to acclimatize at the mid mountain level so that they can be rotated in if necessary.
The current Chief of Army Gen Narvana is far more vigilant, vision , combact readiness ntelgient & briliant than any other COAS in recent times, especially Karkil war was just because of Gen Malik failure and that was the reason GEN Malik frustrated with Air Chief at that time. It was just because of present leadership of our armed forces China has backed up. God bless Mother India and our Armed Forces🤲
When the Interviewer says I agree completely with you to a former Army Chief, it totally smacks of arrogance and loss of decency and respect to the Chief
netas in power and their chamchas, bureaucrats.... these people always have a say in all major decisions... The army doesn't work independently as in democracy civilian authority is always above the army...So be it the defense budget or the induction of weapon systems....everything goes through the bureaucratic channel
General Malik Sb, With due respect all participnats and anchors always forgets that the so called aggression of Chinese happened when the Interior Minister Amit Shah Ji Threatened China by claiming to take back Aqsa e Chin from them. So the Chinese took it serious as it was all claimed by a senior most Indian minister. reaction from China was definite.
Well is not Akshai chin a part of Kashmir? China repeatedly called Arunachal disputed area even though it is completely administered by India. I do not know are you from India or Pakistan but India does not sell its land like Pakistan sold Shaksgam Valley to China. In territorial aggression China just wants to make India accept the LAC defined by China by showing its economic and military might but again it is not going to happen without any resistance from our side. And also China is doing its bullying tactics in the whole region from south china sea to Nepal even a tiny country like Bhutan is also threatened by China. Recently china claimed a portion of Bhutan( sakteng wild life sanctuary) which does not even share boundary with China. Now you say who is the aggressor??
@@tiaussardar8192 Can Indians accept the map of 1950 from your government, where the border was marked undetermined in the Aksai Chin region? Can Indians accept the fact that Tawang was annexed by force in 1951? Indians do not have the guts to face real history.
