China won't budge that much easily. It is a yeomen task for India to roll back Chinese as the Chinese have already penetrated deep in Indian soil some 48 KM inside in Ladakh region. India has to be prudent in handling this Border problem rather then muscle flexing... Without the support of US, it will be futile for India to go into a war with China. Both Countries will fall from present situation in a abyss of Debts and war torn conditions. Both the countries should come to the negotiation table for normalcy of relationship restored asap.

Seems like Alex is putting words in the Sim Tack's narrative rather than ask open ended questions. For a person who has drafted a white paper, preferred to have questions on the lines of trying to understand the reason for why China is doing what it is doing and what next kind of questions.

BUT AT A SPEED WHERE IT TRAVELS A KILOMETER IN A SECOND, MAKES IT UNFIT FOR MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN. PLUS IT HAS A PETTY RANGE OF JUST 300 KM. THE TOMAHAWK CRUISE MISSILE HAS A RANGE OF ABOUT 1500 KMs. AND IT IS SUBSONIC. A SUBSONIC MISSILE IS BOUND TO HAVE GREATER ACCURACY. WE NEED THOSE TOMAHAWKS OR SOMETHING SIMILAR DEVELOPED INDIGENOUSLY. DO NOT ENDANGER PILOTS AND AIRSTRIPS AND DIAMOND LIKE COSTLY PLANES LIKE RAFALES. What is happening now, incursions and excursions et al, between India and China has happened many times earlier; it is just that this time because of technology and increase in international interest on China, the game is being played out louder in the media. The fact is, nothing about LAC has really changed since 1947, as the exact line of LAC has never been agreed by the two parties. Using this as an excuse, China often tries to grab unoccupied territories (patrolled by both etc…) wherever possible and whenever it suits them, along the LAC. The primary intend is nothing more than to keep India on a leash and ensure it is not a competition in South Asia. It is also sad that two Nations, even after wars and lengthy talks, have not been able to resolve it for decades. This happens when one or both parties do not want a resolution. It is abundantly clear here as to who does not want the issue resolved. It is fallacious to expect that, this issue will get resolved any time soon. China has to be brought to the negotiating table, hopefully one day in the near future and define the IB (not LAC). It is imperative that we maintain a strong Defence Force and better strategic stance (not backing down) when we go to the negotiating table, China will win the day, if we as a Nation divert most of our energies here rather than on the economic and societal issues which are more fundamental and enduring to a better future for India. Unfortunately in a geo-political polity we can’t chose our neighbours. Like Snehesh (The Print) often says, War is not a solution while it can extend the problem.

India must start patrolling in Aksai Chin - as it is disputed territory, if they can come, in logic, into Ladakh due to undefined LAC, why not Aksai Chin which is a known territory under dispute. We have to start with an attacking mindset. Go in, but keep the numbers of soldiers on the border very very high to deter any attack.

This is what I feared in all my responses. The Chinese very cunningly drag on the so - called talks. Once they believe that they can beat you they will start a hot war & teach you a lesson or two. So, it is imperative that we must strike at the places where he is weak & drag him to the table to talk on our terms. If not, we will be perennially at his mercy.
