The story of No Man's Sky is a lot more complicated - pressure from the publisher (Sony, naturally) seems to be the number one problem with the initial release (and that's not a one-time issue, mind you) but you gotta hand it to the devs, at least they put in the hours to release updates - big ones, from what I hear.
yeah i think its a good thing that they did their best to fulfill their promises and improve their game. but im never a fan of games getting put out in a state that is not intended to be the finished product. devs are not forced to take pride in release day like they used to, because theres a fallback plan, being updates
Yeah, there is, indies, and old games haven't gone anywhere. And hell, now that you've pointed it out, 2004-2006 were honestly the best years for gaming, all the games i love so much and other legendary classics came out then, be it Gta SA, Tekken 5, Scarface, Warcraft 3 and other big hitters. Kinda sad knowing i won't live long enough to see something like that happen again, assuming something like that can even happen again. My random tangents aside, great video man, people that say that there's no games really need to expand their horizons so to speak, there's plenty of good stuff out there.
So many good games coming out all the time but my criteria for choosing is different from when I was younger - I have way less time so I'm less likely to pick up a huge open world and will veer towards steam deck friendly titles

I'm pretty sure you've already said this in the video but I think people are upset with modern games is due to some well-known video games companies went from passion to greed. Take Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Halo for example, They were the titans of FPS shooters back in the day, and now it's not even close. And some people (like me) don't want to let the franchise go with how much great memories they had with the franchise and just hope if the game will get any better (I was on the same boat). But I have to ask myself and say, "Well, if this is direction the company wants to take their franchise in, why hope it gets better, and instead find something else to play". Cause I'm sure there's other games that might interest me, right? And that's what I did. I got into fighting games genre, picked up Street Fighter 6, and man I am having a blast playing the game! As you mentioned in the video, there are great games out there, you just gotta broaden your horizons.
A while ago, it felt like in just one year there was about a decades' worth of games. But now it feels like it takes a decade for just one good game to break through.
Good games keep comin, it's just that folks really like to only think about the bads ones and gaslight themselves thinkin the old times didn't also had some STINKERS
