Hello Friends,
If you are doing any Project in which receipt is required or token need to be print, you can add a mini thermal printer to your microcontroller project. With this very cute thermal printer your project features get value added advantages.
In this video we have explained the interfacing technique with sample example codes.
Thermal printers are also known as receipt printers, they're what you get when you go to the ATM , Buses, bank or grocery store. Now you can embed a little printer of your own into an enclosure with your project. This printer is ideal for interfacing with a microcontroller, you simply need serial output from your microcontroller to print text, barcodes, bitmap graphics, even a QR code!
This type of package comes with a thermal printer including the print head (it does not require ink, a set of power and data cables). The thermal paper used in printer, you can buy from near by stationary store for around 25-30/- each.
It requires power supply of 5 -12 volts. You need to connect RXD and TXD pin to the TXD and RXD pin of microcontroller respectively. There are some specific commands by which you can make BOLD font also, that commands may be line feed, new line, etc. You can print any alphanumeric character with this printer , even you can print Bar code and QR code, but for that you have to set it though Serial Port.
We have shown some commands in this video, hope so you will get something new.

Mobile phone se connect karne ke liye blue tooth use karna hoga. Mobile app se aap text send karenge, Microcontroller Blue tooth ke through text receive karke, printer me send kar dega. Second option Blue tooth based printer is also available.

Hii. Please tell how to change font size and can we print bitmap image by storing it as an array in code ? Also where to find its authentic data sheet?

Hi..to change font you need to send specific commands like in ASCII ESC ! n ...n represent selection for bold 0x1B,0x0E then 0x1B,0x45,0x31 send it,,it will enable bold font.. similarly by changing mode in bit mode you can display bit image also with certain limitations..

@@TheTiaraTechShow and about 'RLY=1;', 'RLY 1=0;' and 'send(zz+0x30);'. Can you explain about these items? I didn't see in the code a function for these RLY. And I was confused about the use of nn+0x30

@@mrodrigomana RLY was for activating buzzer during printing. you need to assign IO lines for it.nn+0x30 was to convert int digit to ASCII, because Thermal printer accepts hex values or ASCII. we have separated out the Token Digits and then convert it into ASCII by adding 0x30.

@@TheTiaraTechShow Thank you very much for your patience in explaining this to me. About the buzzer, I completely understood, thank you. But still about the 'nn'. That means that: vv, xx, yy, zz are variables that contain: vv=0, xx=0, yy=6 and zz=3. Then add to the hexa 0x30 (we know that 0x30 is zero ascii in decimal) and we have: 0x30 + 0 = 0x30, 0x30 + 0 = 0x030, 0x30 + 6 = 0x36, 0x30 + 3 = 0x33 (0063 in the video example) ? It's just that in the video I didn't see if these variables are declared. Do you have a place where I can get this source code? On your site I have not found.
