When Jon revealed it was a fake challenge I practically fell out of my chair. After Emile uncharacteristically swore out of pure pain of having to praise what is literally his most hated game. Jon can be such an asshole sometimes... ... and I love him for that so much.
Chugga did a cuss. On a more serious note, I'm surprised that the good things he had to say about it didn't sound as backhanded as they could have. That's actually what it sounds like when he's talking about whatever he's playing.
The sudden swear and the surprise reveal are the things that caught me off guard, but not hearing Emile say good things about Sticker Star with a smile on his face... huh
As someone who is in more or less the same boat as Jon when it comes to Sticker Star, I like to think that both of these are Emile's penance, especially after not only the Super Metroid bit, but also the repeated smack-talk the game got during Partners in Time.
I love the reactions after he yells "FUCK". Jon just looking proud of what he's accomplished, Tom Fawkes wandering in from outside the frame, unsure of what he just witnessed, Masae's delayed reaction, Jules fucking losing it on the left couch, Tyler's look at the camera like "did that just happen" and then his barely audible but very clearly visible "son of a BITCH" when the real challenge is revealed. This video is like a renaissance painting, I love it
My favorite thing about Paper Mario: Sticker Star is the purple Toad in Decalburg. They say the line 'stay perky' everytime that you are done dealing with them, and the line 'stay perky' actually makes them a pretty charming character among the rest of the cast. I, kind of wish that you interact with this character more often, I kind of wish that, y'know, you could see a bit more of them, because I don't always need to go to Decalburg to buy stickers 'cause you can find them for free in the levels, but, when you do, I really do like this character. Um, I think Sticker Star has some pretty good ideas, um, on paper, um, the idea of having varying [30 seconds!] usable(?) attacks and having different levels of those as an alternative to levelling up is a pretty interesting idea. Um, the music is pretty great, I especially love the snow world's music, that is great, um, some other songs that are really choice(?) [15 seconds!] for me are the Warm Fuzzy Plains, I really liked that level as a whole. Um, I liked solving puzzles by sticking stickers on the environment, that's a really creative use unifying basically Badges [Five seconds!], FP, and puzzle solving all into one mechanic. Admittedly, the music is pretty good all things considered. ...And this is coming from someone who finds the game in the range of barely good and mostly decent.

After hearing somewhat surprising compliments, I couldn't stop repeating 2:05 - 2:10 hearing Emile scream very loudly "FUCK!!!" Now that's a funny moment in this video

Listen I know that not every game is perfect and it has its flaws but Sticker Star was the game that I stopped caring about Paper Mario. Something about that game just makes me hate it.
