Love the visual with you saying for the takeaway to be more outside. When I watch your Instagram stories you’ll say they are a little shallow, or inside, etc and I struggle to fix that in my own swing. It was good to see what is inside or outside for the takeaway. Sometimes gets confusing for me!
You have no idea how much you’ve helped improve my golf game. Haven’t been playing long but since I’ve started watching you and Good Good I can say I’ve greatly improved. Thanks again Grant for another great lesson.
I'm a returning golfer after not golfing for 5+ years due to injuries and work. I went out and had a slice, this video helped me correct that slice. Keep the videos coming
NO JOKE..... ive always had a slice swing until recently. i have been learning about my swing path how my club face coming through the ball is the main cause of the ball either hooking/drawing or slicing/fading. i have been hitting mid 80's consistently and actually had balls that drew/hook recently because of putting in work.... i was bringing my club back to the inside and trying to force the clubhead through the ball from inside out and it wasnt really working. i watched this video, went to the range and started to think about bringing it back more outside and letting the correction happen like you suggested. i literally went out after the range session and immediately shot a 75 which is 5 strokes better than anything i had shot before. i was +6 on the front and -2 on the back and ive never played a even 9 let alone being under par...... Grant, I say this from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much!!!!
Played golf my entire life and never had any coach or anyone else tell me about the second alignment stick and it’s the best advice I’ve heard in a long time!!
Broo, these are the types of lessons we need on the labs channel. Talking about takeaways, club path and all instead of just looking at all 6 of yous swings
Grant!! Your gods gift to earth brother. I took your tips to the range and was finally able to consistently hit my drive without a slice, even hitting a draw at some points. It was really all about that take away and swing path. Keep it up, your work doesn’t go unappreciated. Thanks!
Man I so appreciate it this so much. Haven’t been able to play since we’ve had my daughter. And have been super sloppy in my grip and just super slicing the hell out of it. Talking about it’s gonna slice through another dimension.
I love these little instructional videos mixed in with the regular content. Such a smooth swing. I want to see some serious grinding on the putting stroke.
This helped me so much. I went from a 50-80yard slice with my driver, to about 15-20 yards in one round. I don’t play often so as you could imagine I have a tendency to swing a club like a baseball bat.
Thanks man hit a personal best recently and I attribute a fair bit of it not too just your grip and wrist tips but also ur ability to talk yourself through a round as well as stay positive and focused on the next shot/opportunity 🤙 thanks again man keep making great content
I love your videos especially your tech tips .As a new golfer I could use all the help you could give me. I would love to play around and pick your brains on how to inprove my game. Let me know next time your in North Florida.
I always seem to have a reoccurring slice once in a while, and what helps me is to imagine that my right elbow stays connected to my body. I noticed thats what Grant was doing and it instantly causes that inside to outside feel and fixes the slice. Thanks for the refresher my man!
Hey Grant! Can you let us know what pants you're wearing in this video? In the market for some new golf pants with winter coming up and these always look super comfortable when you wear them.
hey grant love the content. Here’s another instructional video idea that I personally struggle with: slowing down you club speed for certain wedge shots like 100 yards and in. I tend to swing harder than most and have issues slowing my swing down to avoid bombing my approach shots over the green or thinning/skulling them
Hey man not sure if you’ve seen the video yet because this comment is 6 months old; but there is a good good labs video (run by grant and friends) that talks about shortening your backswing for shorter shots like that.
Awesome! Can you do a video on how to stay down through impact? I struggle with standing up a bit (making room) and getting my hands too high with the toe digging down a bit more than the heel of the club…
I've helped quite a few friends and strangers with removing their slice, and these things seems to be the things that everyone is talking about, but i would say the real key to fixing a slice has alot more to do with shoulder posture, whether the left shoulder is pulled back from the back and whether people have learned to hit down on the ball. I've fixed more slicers having people push their shoulder out towards the ball, rather than pulling it, an open stance, is the course of most slices.
Hate to watch your videos before I get off work. Because then all I do is think about my swing and whatever tip you gave.Until I can stop by the range and try it out. But I like the lineup stick pointed to the right and the slight grip change. Only 6.5 more hours and I can try it.
Your draw swing on the driver is a thing of beauty Grant. Can you hit a fade on command the way you do with the draw on your driver? I also tend to draw and my miss is a big hook. How do you change your set up and swing thoughts to hit a fade? Thanks!
I slice with my driver but hit draws with my irons and hybrids. I’ve tilted my club head inward on my driver to turn my slice into a “fade” but it still is frustrating because I can hit the rest of my clubs well. I’m nervous about changing my swing because my short game is ok for my skill level. I think if I focus on keeping my swing starting off outside on my drives, then I should have a better shot.
Hey Grant, I don't have a over the top swing but my club face is often open at contact, whats wrong and what do I do to fix? Thanks and another great video!
Haha… my ball takes a hard right hand turn no matter how I swing the club. Even with EXTREME changes to grip, alignment, stance, etc. It’s pretty amazing.
I've went to a place that does slowmo om where you're striking the ball for me I come from baseball putting stick on ball so for golf that hitting heel all day and I had to really work on coming in on the ball from my shoulders. Not sure if that would help but trying to find a place that had the slowmo cam helped a lot really seeing what is happening
Very valuable. How strongly do you feel about the importance/emphasis of grip of the thumb/index on your right hand? I feel like it help my swing immensely controlling the club head
Love the instructions, but I do have a question about the set up, can u show face on angle n also POV? Cuz I’m confused about how the club face when at set up, I was told I always left the club head open, that caused my ball going left a lot (I’m a lefty). Thanks
the club head needs to be alligned straight towards your target, so center mass is aiming at the point where you wanna hit to. Trust me on this learn to walk before you fly, hitting it straight is key to victory.
Probably swinging from a very stuck position with a shut club face through out the swing... my guess is your grip and takeaway are forcing the shut club face and you're not rotating much with the hips... so you probably return the club face to the ball w.o much rotation and flip it hard at impact = mega hook. focus on a takeaway where club face is neutral, not shut - focus on getting to the top of the swing with a neutral club face, not shut - then focus on getting more hip rotation at impact so your hips are facing the target at impact so you reduce the hard flip of the hands.
Grant - I do appreciate your instructional videos. Quick question. You just did one with Tig on long irons. I have a Cobra one length 3 hybrid. Where would you recommend ball position?
