Levon Aronian is present at the Chennai Grand Masters 2023 - India's strongest ever super tournament. Levon arrived at the event a couple of days in advance to acclimatize to the new environment. In this video we speak to him about his mind set in general. We also give him positions from his previous games and try to see if he remembered them. He not only remembered them, but he gave us some of the best insights one could possibly get from the mind of a world class player.

Levon's point about curiosity and always looking for something new reminds me of this quote from existentialist philosopher Flaubert: "Even the slightest thing contains a little that is unknown. We must find it. To describe a tree, we must remain before that tree until it no longer resembles for us any other tree.”

Actually both of them have played some great games against each other in their career. The joke Levon cracked at poor Akhil in today's opening ceremony of Chennai Grandmaster, just shows his respect for Vishy

i read an interview and when he was much younger, he had to make money for his family hustling Western businessmen for games of chess in the lounges of hotels !! He's come up the hard way....which is why I respect him greatly
