I can’t look at walrus man without thinking of the Robot Chicken sketch where he’s an architect who goes out for a liquid lunch with his mouthy colleague. Same with Prune face who fixes photo copiers.
That was a nice rant. For some reason I like the crazy color scheme on the walrus man and the Imperial dignitary has a crazy purple color that I like, almost like Ozzy and the Prince of Darkness.

If you're gonna include yak face, then you should have also included blue snaggletooth. The only reason it's so rare is that it was so inaccurate that they had to remake it.
What a great topic, it's the inherent burden of completing a run. I paid 30 bucks for a jar jar last year that I didn't want, so I could complete my clone wars first run. That's a pretty good looking dignatary though

I started collecting these figures back in the 80s. I never really noticed the odd colors and character choices they made. I was just geeked to get them for collecting and displaying. I guess if I was playing with them figures like imperial dignitary wouldn't have been a priority. Interesting topic.
I think as a kid, I was never prone to judge what I got, I just played with them, so im in the same camp as you. It wasn’t until I had to start spending money on the figures and configuring my run, thst I said “what I have to collect an Imperial Dignitary??? A Yak Face? A PRUNE FACE? Haha! Spot on list EXCEPT haha: Yak- cool looking figure and so collectible Prune Face- unique weapon and awesome cloth cape Cloud Car Pilot- bright white yellow orange contrast make a beautiful figure

And don’t get me wrong, even though these are on my top “worst” list, I stilll love em all cuz they are part of the vintage line and part of toy history. I agree with your top 2 choices as neither could hold an accessory. But how could Walrusman make the list? He was awesome. Him and Cloud Car Pilot were great. As a kid in 1981, what was cooler than Walkie Talkies? The Cloud Car Pilot came with walkie talkies! And Walrusman (in my imagination) could command all the sea creatures like Aquaman.
Yeah for sure! Cloud City was super amazing in the movie. It's too bad that they didn't realize how awesome it would have been to have a playset based on at least part of the city like the carbon freezing chamber.
I remember getting the first (Palitoy);12 way back in 1978. However, when the second wave came out, I never liked all the Cantina creatures and only bought Greedo, R5D4 and Death Star Droid. I think in the UK, it was hard to find all the figures and not every figure was available. Unless you were willing to jump on a train and travel around all the UK toy shops, you were limited to one or two toy shops in your home town that stocked Star Wars figures. I don’t think I knew one single kid who had every single figure. I remember as a 10 year old, some kid in my class said that he seen 8 Boba Fett figures hanging on a rack in a department store where you wouldn’t think they would sell toys. That Lunch time, I sneaked out of school just to pop in and buy Boba Fett. I got into trouble but it was worth it. That’s how hard it was to buy Star Wars figures Back in the day.
@@fretboardmaster70 I know what you mean. Where I grew up, the closest town only had two stores that sold toys back then. They were small mom and pop stores, not big national chains, so they didn't get new inventory often. They'd have just a fraction of the Star Wars toys in stock. I remember going to see doctors in the big city that was much farther away (like about a five hour drive) and getting to go to a real toy store afterwards and seeing all of the Star Wars toys that were out at the time. It was amazing! My mom let me get four figures that time. Usually when we went shopping on our bimonthly trips to the much closer town, I could only get one thing the entire trip. At this huge (to my six year old mind anyway) toy store, I got four of the ones the little shops didnt have. I loved some of the cantina guys like Hammerhead, Greedo and Yak Face but I didnt like most of the ' monster mask' guys, as I called them, like Prune Face, Walrus man and Snaggletooth.

Mm- I love all my Figures. There’s not one that I don’t love? I would feel it keenly if I lost one. In fact I’m grateful that Kenner produced what they did as they could have easily just not bothered to produce the so called hated few? The way I view my Collection is that each individual Figure complements the whole, both within their sets as well as the greater collection. From the Rebels, Denizens of Bespin to the Imperials each Figure for me has a defining role within each group setting. The Imperial Dignitary Complements Vader, The Emperor and The Royal Guard. Madine complements Ackbar, Solo, Luke, Leia, Chewie, the Droids and the Endor Combat Team. Lando and Nien Numb form a new Falcon Duo. Walrus Man dose his bit as an extra character for the Cantina Crowd. Even the Bounty Hunter’s and the Court of Jabba the Hutt and the Ewoks, Jawas and Tuskens and Droids have their Own Crowd? Oops I almost Forgot Obi Wan and Yoda and the Ghost of Anakin? Each Figure enhances a group set within the Collection creating a greater sense of multi layers of play and now what is collectable. So to that end I can’t hate on a Figure as one is such a profound part of the many. And on an interesting note, Kenner acquired the License to produce Star Wars Figures in 1977- Figures weren’t actually released until 1978? They were only designated as such to differentiate them from the next wave of Figures that were produced and released in 1978 and 1979 bridging the transition to 1980 with the release of the Empire Strikes Back? So essentially the Star Wars Figure Timeline is 1978-1985 if you were to say they were made at a specific point? Otherwise Kenner held the License from 1977-1985. But I guess thats just knit picking? It just doesn’t sound right but I suppose to summarise the history would be a bit of a mouthful in each introduction?

I was "forced" to drink prune juice when growing up so when I bought my own house, my number 1 rule was there would be NO prune juice in my house EVER.

Agree with most of your list Joey although I loved the Rebel Commando as kid, probably because it was like a GI Joe (or Action Force for me). My SW collecting mate still loves Madine and its one of his favourite figures - I just do not get it! 😄
I can see a reconsider on the commando! It’s hard to include army building figures cuz they are shouting be for building those scenes, but it was for the very fact that I thought it was a Joe fig lol. Thanks for watching Strat!

Great list! Loved the rant video. Walrus man really suffered from his release being from the first 20. I think if he was released in the last 17 he would have been very interesting. However, how can you include Romy & Joz on the list????? For shame!!!!! Hahahahaha

Walrusman? Them’s fightin’ words, partner 😂😡🤓 Another fun vid! I have a few that I, in a way detest because I feel they missed the mark, and could have been so much more. Han in carbonite - his sculpt is atrocious, and therefore he went from being potentially one of the best in the lineup to one I passed on at the toy store. R2 Pop-up. Saber looks stupid, like a fish bat. And it pops out of what looks like an afterthought of a space on his dome. I always thought it should come out one of the blue panels.. too much to ask? Luke Poncho? Stupid non-removable helmet. Could have been again one of the best figs, but nope. Luke Stormtrooper - again SO much potential. That crappy playdoh helmet ruined him. At least it can be removed. Oddly enough he quickly becomes one of my fav when a cut off and hollowed out 1977 stormtrooper head/helmet is used! Again, fun vid. Next time leave Ponda out of it or there’ll be hell to pay 😜

Yeah, some of these figures are ones that I never wanted as a kid and still don't have in my collection. Prune Face is one of them. He's pretty awful. The Imperial Dignitary guy is really weird and I never wanted that figure either. Fun video! I've always loved well -written negative reviews of stuff and enjoy writing them too. That Imperial Dignitary that you got in the mail is how I mail out collectibles when I sell them. I am very careful to make sure that I've done all I can to keep it in good shape. I hate it when sellers throw collectibles in bags without any padding or anything. I love the Members Only jacket! A jacket that was all the rage when the ESB and ROTJ figures were coming out. :)

But now as collectors we fawn over these peg warmers for that reason lol. The member’s only jacket I am wearing was actually my dads from the 80s! Take care my friend!

Fun rant style vid on a subject everyone has an opinion on. Totally agree with your 1 & 2! Rebel Commando though? I mean good trooper builder figure (I’d say more like Grunt than Zap, yo Joe!). A far worse figure (sadly) is Endor Luke! Kenner totally dropped the ball on him with a molded on helmet instead of removal (which both ROTJ Leia’s and Skiff guard Lando got) and… no lightsaber!!! What could’ve been a great figure was a bust. FYI, first video I’ve watched on your channel, subscribed for more!

I always liked his color scheme and green eyes, but he was a pretty useless figure for play.

I love how the 4 aliens and others had names like for mentally challenged characters. Walrusman Hammerhead, Snaggletooth, pruneface, yakface, on it goes.
Personally I’d say Anakin’s ghost is the most pointless Pretty useless in virtually all dioramas and as a play toy as a kid Could also have binned off half of the ewoks. So many great characters that Kenner & palitoy could’ve made, especially army build characters such as rebel troopers Thank goodness for the likes of Stan solo today
