These videos always make me laugh. Wear what makes you happy. It doesn't matter if it's brand new or 20 years old. Don't worry about what a video says is 'in' or 'out'. If you like it - just wear it!

I get the sentiment but following fashion is really fun for some people and it’s very satisfying(to people like us) when you can put your finger on why something feels a bit dated l, and then find creative way to update the outfit (that still falls under the umbrella of “wear what you want “/doesn’t refute your point, but there’s no need to belittle people who like to give and receive fashion advice)

“Crocheted” items can’t be reproduced by a machine the way a knitted item can. Most of the “crocheted” items sold are just a chain stitch done on a machine with straight stitching over it to keep it from raveling. Actual HAND crocheted items would be expensive, depending on where they’re made.

I’m still wearing some pieces from when I was in middle school and high school … but I love it! I take care of my clothes, I press, iron and steam them and they look practically new. For the most part, I feel confident in what I wear and I especially love that I don’t spend frivolously and no one ever has clothes similar to mine❤

Not me. I think the shorts with no distress look old lady , and some of these weird longer awkward length shorts make legs look shorter and fatter. You have to be tall and thin to wear some these “in style “ shorts. I’m 30 and I see ripped jeans Everywhere. I just bought some Kylie Jenner jeans too and they’re ripped

Anna, you make a good point about modifying clothing to feel more current. If you love the fabric, shape, and fit of an item, just removing the non-essential details like buttons that don't fasten anything or criss-cross lacing cords just may update or neutralize an item. If you're handy with a sewing machine, restyling items of good fabric can turn a tired piece to something new. XXOO ❤

Paperbag waists always confirmed my identity as a sack of potatoes: they passed me by. But my pleated midi (and only) skirt in purple, from 2008, seems to be back. To be worn with one of my new high neck tank tops 😊. PS yesterday evening I went for a walk around the island in a Bottega Veneta mini crochet dress in dark khaki from 2020. It felt just right

Anna I love your videos - you are never offensive at all! I think we all (well, at least me) watch videos like yours to *try* to keep our wardrobes fresh and not wear anything glaringly, hopelessly, out of style. Those crochet square like flower things are called granny squares... and as a knitter I do think that some of the tops you showed that you do like and would wear might be knit and not crochet.. but I get the gist of what you're trying to say about the genre as a whole. You've really helped me to identify what I'd like my style/aesthetic to be with my clothes, and it's helped me immensely when shopping. THANK YOU!!!

I love the crochet granny squares. I have a top like that , my style always has a touch of bohemian so I always have something crochet in my closet. I’d like to have a crocheted vest and wear it with my flared jeans and peace sign earrings. I’m totally serious. I like wearing what everyone else isn’t. Another great video, Anna! I loved your idea of using a leather belt to freshen the paper bag shorts, and it actually smoothed out the gathering at the top and almost conceals it… I thought I was going to have to throw them away. I had a few of those V-neck T-shirts with the crisscross and I went, turned it inside out and cut those extra strips of fabric off so they just look like a simple plain V-neck T-shirt. If you already have enough furniture polishing rags… Lol.

I love these videos, but I feel like a long skirt with tank top or t-shirt and long necklace is a very classic, timeless look, even tho it was super hot a minute ago. It could exist in any decade since the 70s, and has never gone out of style in bohemian circles.

I like the crochet trend just for nostalgic reasons, however I don't plan on wearing it. One thing I saw that would be a fun way to participate in the trend was a purse strap (like those guitar strap style ones with clasps on the ends). That's a pretty easy way to style the trend but not be an actual piece of clothing.

First, Lisa Holt is an interior designer on youtube. She explains a lot and shows wonderful examples. I believe the crocet squares you showed were "Granny Squares". I never liked them! Thank you for a good list. I'm over tennis shoes and skirts, but I will be eternally out numbered!

Crochet is so classic, and comes it's year like today, that I'm styling my crochet with color skirt underneat, that you can go ahead and style them around other trends. As a matter a fact I'm heading to a sunny place, that my black crochet top can help me even using a color belt 😅

I’m torn about making one; I love that crochet is in (and a hobby I enjoy) but I typically make toys. Crochet usually doesn’t look cool unless you use super expensive yarn lol

Thanks for the input and styling advice! My method for extending the lifespan of trendier items is to make sure to buy them in my favorite color or print...that way they will always have a place in my personal style that makes them more timeless to me. 💙💙

Quiet Luxury emphasizes high-quality, timeless, classic and elegant items, this was always my style. They don’t have to be top-designer, just great quality, and restrained. I welcomed the advent this trend, and now just ignore all the PC baggage that comes with it.
