If a person had no money limit, is looking for a smalll town (not that small) including beauty, walkabililty, and best downtown. Where are the top five places you would pick for them?
Good sir, I'll have to toss out Newark as a great suggestion as well. Cooch's Bridge Battlefield, located near Old Baltimore Pike, is the only known battlefield in Delaware from the Revolutionary War. Also with White Clay Creek State Park, and various other parks located relatively close you have numerous walking trails & bike paths. Main Street also offers alot of various restaurants & business to check out. If you prefer it to be less crowded though, then I recommend a Summer time visit, when many of the University students are on break.
I live in Millsboro and It’s the biggest growing town in DE with a lot of people coming from NY and NJ. I moved here myself 10 years ago from NJ because taxes were outrageous. I’m surprised it’s not on this list. It’s a town that is bordered by the bay, and is close to the beach, but far enough away to avoid route 1 traffic in the summer. It’s directly in the center of Sussex county, giving you a short commute to anywhere in the county. I’ve seen countless communities and local businesses blowing up in the past 5 years. The northern region (Longneck) has a lot of good local restaurants like Paradise Grill beach bar, Serendipity, and local diners to choose from. A Wawa has gone up a few years back as well. It’s is closest to Lewes and Georgetown and its communities are all along the bay. It’s a short commute to beaches like Lewes, and Rehoboth. The southern region runs on route 13 cutting through it with big chain businesses along it like Fast food chains, Texas road house, and Wawa. It has homes that are in more rural areas and It has a short commute to southern beaches like Bethany and Fenwick. I’ve lived in Millsboro for 10 years and it is the fastest growing town in the county. If you are still interested in Millsboro or other towns within the area, I can connect you with one of the top realtors in the state who could provide more detail. Good luck on your search!
Interesting video about DE. I've lived in DE since 1980, Graduated from Cape Henlopen in '81, Angola-By-The-Bay, back from school I landed in NCC and have been in Bear since 1991. I kind of like where I am, everything is about 15-20 minutes away, whatever ya want in the immediate areas, plus all the major interconnections as well!
Agree. Very downstate list. North of the canal, there's a lot of great scenery. And in some of this scenery are some nice places to live, particularly if you've got decent money. Centerville's great! Greenville's up there. Westover Hills bumps right up against the Wilmington corporate limits, but when you're there, you feel 100 miles away from the city. There are some nice spots in and around Hockessin. A little less pricey and more populated are the neighborhoods around Sherwood Park. Chances are you won't live in a mansion, but the people are solid. Good community feel.
I’m moving with my wife to Delaware after my military contract we Loved it and we want to buy a house there it’s calm we haven’t decided the area but we are considering Dover or Frederica since my wife’s uncle live there .
@@Zachary-Loft Thank you and I appreciate it so much and I liked Dover and it has many restaurants and not too crowed and the mall was pretty empty hardly any traffic and I want a fresh start and I love the fact there is no sales tax and I liked Frederica because it’s quite and chill and I know my wife’s uncle there so we will be close to family .
@@Zachary-Loft That’s probably what I was thinking I fell in love with it I’m currently in NY state and I can’t wait too leave and go to Delaware and does it get a lot of snow Delaware ?!
@@Zachary-Loft Im on med disability and the salt air makes me feel better. Also my MD $3600 real estate tax is killing me, my house and 1 acre property is too big for me having MS and being alone. My house is paid for , the only thing keeping me here is my 91 yr old mom, who is still on her own.
is that really what youre looking for? What about a good ole bagel place, or 'round the corner pizzeria, or a take-out chinese place! Lol!! Nah, but seriously, i'm from northern NJ and wanna buy a home in DE too! Don't even know where to begin! Help!!
he didn't even mention newark home to the university of delaware really it's the only place to live in delaware unless you can afford the greenville area this guy don't know what he is talking about i have lived here for 61 years@@brownoriental201
@@brownoriental201Kent county is pretty kool I heard it’s alittle far down but the taxes is lower i plan on moving to Delaware also I’m just trying to find the right house in the right neighborhood 👍🏾
DOVER?????? I am a veteran as well, but I do not share your enthusiasm. I live there, but sadly it will never reach its potential as the city planners are CLUELESS!!! Downtown would be special, but never will, as long as they house and include the Homeless/Drug support resources there I live out in the county, not the city/town and enjoy what the rural part offers.
Lewes is incredible and HIGHLY underrated as a town. As “best places to live” it’s not in my personal top picks only because I prefer to be an outsider to it in cities like Milford, Milton, Harrison, etc. Incredible city, should see sustained growth for years to come with less areas to build.
Milton has a great downtown park area. Here's an episode of a children's show showing the downtown park... Allie's World at Milton Park Playground: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8pqPO2mcozU.html

@@Zachary-Loft I just was in Greenwood for the first time the other day. I like it. I like the small towns and farms, and I hope they don’t all go away. Keep making videos.
If you like ticks and mold you will love Sussex County. Also the regular sound of gunfire once you are in the unincorporated areas. And massive overdevelopment. Kiss those low taxes goodbye.
@@Zachary-Loft I recently watched a 60 acre parcel that was mostly trees get ground up into chips and hauled off in a semi. Every farm acreage around Millsboro on 113 has a for sale sign on it. I live here. It's wet. If you don't like mold and mildew be forewarned. After moving here, there were events involving gunfire at two bar/ restaurants on RT 1 in Rehoboth in 6 months. The gunfire I hear around outer Dagsboro is likely firearms enthusiasts not crime but I sure hope there are berms involved.
