I just picked up a 2023 Nissan Frontier.. got that $3400 discount on a pro4x. Plus now there is a $1000 factory discount. I saved total of 11% off sticker! And got 2.99% 36 m loan. This is real guys! I love the truck.
That’s not saving man. Trucks up 25-30% across the board. Manufactures and dealers literally bank on statements like yours. Nothing against you, just needs to be said. There isn’t a single justification for the price increases. You’re gonna hear guys saying “I saved 15%, %20….” Over the next year or so, already seeing 20% “discounts” at some dealerships, few as they may be.
When its 2024, and dealers are sitting on 2023 models, which most arrived at the beginning of that year, they need a minimum 20 percent discount just to account for the depreciation from 23 to 24
I’m waiting until I can get the deal I got on my 2019 F150. $16,000 in factory and dealer discounts off MSRP. A few grand off sticker is NOTHING compared to how much vehicle prices have soared in the last four years.
Agreed. These prices literally exploded since the coof hit being up over 35% in 3 years which is stupid and unjustified from the manufacturers. People need to hold off and the longer they do, the lower prices everyone is going to see.
Dealerships figuired out that by keeping inventory "low", they don't have to negotiate as much because people will get FOMO. It's the new strategy. "Oh I'm sorry, we have very few models and lots of people want them. Supply and demand"
@@adamhatcher6620 😂😂😂😂 The 80's ain't coming back, the 90's ain't coming back, the 2000's aren't coming back. It is what it is. Only way to see massive deflation of 20-25% is to have a massive stock market crash as what happened 95 years ago. And trust me, you don't want that to happen.
Rumor?: My brother-in-law was told by a Toyota finance manager that car prices are getting ready to drop due to the number of REPOs that are going on. A lot of people that bought cars with "market adjusted values" during and right after the pandemic are way upside down and cannot get out of them, so are letting them be repossessed.
People have been saying that since late 2020, it’s been going on for sure but it’s not significant, especially going into the rest of 2024. If repos are going to take place, they would have already happened.

Got a 2017 f150 with 60k miles last year for under 30k. Absolutely love the truck. 5.0 fully loaded. If people keep buying these new cars prices will never drop. Car payments at becoming a second mortgage
The market is returning to normal, in the past I never bought a full-size truck that wasn't at least 15% to 25% off msrp. The covid market screwed everything up, people were paying the artificially elevated prices instead of getting automatic discounts like before.
Correction... people who weren't smart paid the higher prices. 🙄 smart people waited for vehicle inventory to raise, and the dealerships began to starve. I paid nearly the same price for a 2 year old vehicle last month, as the same kind of vehicle was sold used 10 years ago. I negotiated my price, and my interest rate.
Excellent show, I always enjoy your discussions. I just wanted to bring up some lease options. When you have a lease, you have 4 options at the end. 1. Turn in the lease to the lender 2. Trade the vehicle into a dealer for another auto. The dealer pays off the lease like any other loan. This is a great option if you are over the contract miles or if the value of the vehicle is worth more to the dealership than the lease contract buy out price. 3. Purchase the auto for the remaining amount due on the lease contract and keep it. Pay cash or refinance as another loan. 4. Sell the vehicle private party for more than the lease buyout. This is what I do, and I have made money on every lease i have had. Just think of a lease as just another way of financing that protects you in case that vehicle ends up not holding its value
It's always funny when Roman is with him. Andre : here is all the specs you might be interested in. Roman, interpreting, HEY LOOK!!! it's got a tow hook. Andre: here is very important recall information. Roman, interpreting, LOOK !!! it has tires. Andre is a total pro and handles that well
Did anyone else catch the subtle little poke of fun Nathan took at Andre when Andre mentioned possibly getting a better deal on trucks missing popular options (Nathan: "like cruise control") Eluding to Andre's mistake of thinking his Colorado came standard with cruise control when it didn't? Lol
Can confirm the gladiator discounts. I picked up a 2023 gladiator Willy's hard top that is very well optioned in November. Sticker price was $59500 without any dealer markup or "cost adjustment". After manufacturer discount, dealer discount, and negotiation I signed for it at $43400. It is a great little truck.
Ram increased price by 50 percent in 5 years. My loaded Laramie was 50k otd discounted in 2020. The same truck with “20 percent off” today is around 63k.😂 so 2020s msrp. It’s the same truck. Go ahead and bite on that 10k off.
This is why nothing will change, because people are to stupid to think and do the math. I understand some people need to buy due to circumstances, but the masses should really stop buying until these dealership and manufacturer drip the price by 50%.
@@tg815063k is 20% off of 78.75k , 78.75k is 150% of 52.5k. So using his numbers if his truck had a sticker price of 52.5k and he got a discount of 2.5k to purchase at 50k then all of his numbers check out.
That really is an amazing deal. I have a 4Runner, I had told myself I never wanted a car payment again, but the deals on the Gladiators are just so good. I've always wanted a new Jeep, it's really tempting.
So many people who can't afford trucks lease them or get overwhelmed by the payment that used ones flood the lots- and Rams seem to be the easiest find in all trim levels. Why pay new pricing on something that depreciates instantly?? It's so dumb- I paid 31k cash out the door on a certified 2021 1500 Big Horn, Hemi with no active MDS, 3.21 gears, upgraded audio and powered mirrors and still have 50,000 miles left on my factory warranty, 7 years from the new date purchased. I still don't understand why anyone pays top dollar for a midsize "truck" either. Less comfortable, less capable, and just as expensive - if not more expensive than your entry level 1500 class.
Mid size trucks are more off-road capable with the shorter wheel base, and fit in tighter area trails. Also convenient if you live in a congested city like Los Angeles.
I would like to share with Andre. I just purchased a 2024 Nissan Frontier S 4x4 bone stock. This Truck was Discounted to about $32500. It came standard with CRUISE control, power windows and locks. It’s a shame GM didn’t hook you up on your Trail Boss.
That's awesome! Hope you enjoy it! 4 things needed in a vehicle... AC, Radio, power windows, and CRUISE 😂I'm not attached to 4x4, but it does come in handy and I wouldn't say no.
I bought a 23 Nissan Titan Pro-4x for $34k out the door. MSRP was $59k. The dealership gave me $20k for my 2010 Tacoma and $10k dealership discount!! 10 year warranty
@@aarone9454 I've done an add-a-leaf for a 1.5 inch lift in the rear and a 2.6 inch in the front and put heavy duty sumo springs on it and my payload is 1600lbs even with my whole family in the cab. Intake, headers (header wrap), exhaust, diablo sports tune and 92 octane tune. My mpg is 25 on the hwy with 35's. It's a great truck!!
I just purchased a new 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon in Badazz Green, with the level 2 options, sun roof, rock rails, and headlights that move with the steering wheel. It MSRP'd for $83,265, and I was able to get $15,700 off that number. The dealer matched an offer from another dealer that was over 2 hours away. So, it worked out great getting the truck locally.
Three months ago I bought a 2024 Tundra SR. Crew cab, short bed. Only options: 4x4, tow package (receiver hitch, wiring) and the bed step. Paid just under $48k. Love, love, love this truck! Great MPG with or with my trailer, has all the modern convenience options, build quality is fantastic. I added a Redarc brake controller that looks like it was factory installed. Highly recommended
Not going to lie, its look is growing on me. I still find it to be a dumb vehicle to buy. The Maverick is the one to get until toyota releases its compact pickup.
@agentcarder Why? The vast majority of people who buy 250 class trucks for personal use wouldn't even tax a mid-size. If it weren't for sub-par rear passenger comfort, almost everyone who buys full-size should be buying mid-size.
@@rightwingsafetysquad9872 The new trend is undersized motors with turbos. They can do the job but the lifespan is shortened because they have to work too hard. A properly sized v6 should run cooler over the same lifespan and last longer. Especially the turbos and related parts and parts around those parts like to fail because they run so hot.
@bdlii Yes, sort of. But the vast majority of people aren't taxing their trucks at all. So my point is that this trend shouldn't drive anyone to the larger trucks. And for what it's worth, the small turbo engines have proven to be more reliable than large engines with cylinder deactivation and diesel emissions controls. The GM 5.3L used to be one of the most reliable engines ever, now it's the least reliable engine in any truck.
The specials for leasing are based on the miles you agree upon. The miles allowed per year are negotiable, so is the end of lease payoff amount due. Some dealers get desperate to negotiate lease terms because they are counting on you buying the vehicle when your lease is up.
End of December was a good time to buy a 23 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 Hemi. $70K MSRP. Down to $50,500. That was when Manufacturer discount was 15% (10,500 alone), combined with a $9K dealer discount!
I got around a $8,000 savings on a silverado zr2 diesel here in IL along with 2% interest rate from gm back in November. I saw 2 dealers near me advertising very similar discounts for zr2s that had been on the lot for less than a month. 5,000 miles later and I still love this truck and am happy with the price I paid.
I snatched a ‘23 gladiator rubicon for 24% off MSRP, it was roughly 15k off. I’d be curious to hear somebody’s argument as to why it’s not an ideal off roader. This thing was designed and geared for off road, with lockers front and rear, e-sway bar disconnect, you can tuck 35’s under without a lift…this truck crawls all over Moab and even better with a small lift.
What’s crazy is how you consider a 5% APR a pretty good deal. Before the pandemic normally APR was 1.9, sometimes even 0% APR. it’s definitely doable if only people would stop buying and force manufacturer hand more aggressive incentives.
5% is phenomenal today. Most people are financing at 9-12%. Financing APRs won’t be changing due to lack of demand, the fed funds rate needs to come down for that to happen. A manufacturer can only afford to eat so much interest on a loan.
I was about to purchase a Gladiator Sport discounted to about $33,469. There was no power windows or locks, and it felt really small to me inside. I found the frontier S 4x4 for $1000 cheaper and standard power windows and locks, and Cruise control. I felt this was a better option for me. I did have to buy a tow hitch, but I can live with that for an extra $300 and 6 bolts.
Ive def noticed the prices dropping on used trucks/suvs in the last month or two. Wish i was in the market to upgrade because the prices are much more reasonable now.
I really like the new GM midsize trucks, GMC CHEVY look aggressive. Not hip on a 4 cylinder but it seems like a good fit, it's a large 4 cylinder. I would definitely buy a midsize GM. Nissan if I could get a bargain. I like the Tacoma but everyone has one. Love all the videos, Thank you TFL
I’m ready to buy a new Ram 2500/3500 Hemi. Here in the southwest, every dealer I visit has only Laramie, Longhorns and Limited’s on their lots 🤷♂️. If I could find a Tradesman, 4x4 level 2 package, then I could get the discounts to get to an affordable price. Dealers keep stocking tons of $85k to $105k trucks which I don’t want!!! Pretty damn frustrating! As pricing pushed upward, it seems like most people will be wanting the lower cost more affordable trims. Getting $20k off of a $105k truck IS NOT A GREAT DEAL!
The lack of inventory on the Midsize and Compact trucks is very telling, there’s a definite shift in consumer demand away from the full-size trucks although the manufacturers continue to push and are slow to respond (cut production) because they are such cash cows!
I think the market is price driven. Full size trucks are simply too expensive. Mid size are the price of what full size use to be. It's not practical to spend 70-90k for a daily driver.
I'm not sure, look at the sales figures, there's still so much less sold in the mid-size, I think it's just the fact that they produce just enough and overproduced for the full size, but it still doesn't explain the huge sales rift.
A brief search around my area and there seems to be a huge amount of Ram 1500 3.0L diesels around at deep discounts. A Laramie for $51K. Sticker was $67K.
@@martyi398 They discounted it $16k so there are no "add-ons". That price would equal the sticker of a 2013 Laramie. With nothing down or trade-in, you could get it for less than $900 a month. I don't see any other 1/2-ton that well equipped even close.
@@Dusdaddy Maybe that’s true, although in my experience once you show up to the dealership and start talking numbers they will have add-on’s which sometimes are non-negotiable, of course you can always refuse the extras and walkway if that’s the case!
Gentlemen Wife and I in the spring are planning cross country driving for the next couple years just the pick up truck no towing .. what would be your recommendation for the most ideal for a 2 wheel? Affordability-efficiency, comfortable and reliable? You have so many videos I often get confused on which one to purchase-2-3 yr preowned We love your content it really can change one’s lives. Nathan, you are growing on me, you’re biased towards Ram really makes it difficult to trust your comparisons. Keep up the great work. Andrea on the other hand is very very easy to trust. Andrea and Mr Truck on the Ike Gauntlet is the reason I ordered a 2024 Ford F350 SRW HO Platinum Tremor short bed to tow a new Brinkley RV 5th wheel. It will be delivered end of February. If you guys have read down this far, a great idea would be a preadmissions Ike gauntlet for 2007 or 2006 Chevy, Ford, and Rams.
Gonna order the 24 ranger STX which is a bargain in today’s market to me. Took a long time to be honest with myself and admit I don’t need a light duty full size
@charlieb308women sees the status of a vehicle while the men care about the bigger size of it. Hes going to get bunch of men turning heads at him the bigger the truck he drives is
technically, that's a half ton... not really a true full size like a 2500 or 3500 2nd, that mileage is only while NOT towing. those Eco v6's are horrible on gas and tow light like hot garbage. They also have a shit turning ratio@charlieb308
@charlieb308 married and three kids. Last time I cared about using my vehicle to pull chicks was when I was 17 years old. Also quite happy with the size of my penis. Good luck with the ladies bro
Here in Australia, they have just started bringing in Ford F150 Dual Cab with the V8 petrol optioned with supercharger. The cheapest version is $225,000, and we pay $2.20 a litre for fuel, near enough to $9 a gallon. Hearing Americans complain about fuel and car prices falls on deaf ears here. 95% of these style trucks are diesels in Aus.
Thanks gentlemen! Great video. It is so nice to see cars and trucks selling at substantial deals again. I always buy whatever truck has the best price at the moment. Ram trucks are solid and a very good buy even though a little long in the tooth. For medium sized trucks I will buy the Nissan Frontier any day as long it is cheaper. Old school V6, no turbo and decent transmission are a very solid proposition. I won’t cry at Jeep’s grave because they have been so overpriced the last few years without innovation and improvement, so a correction in the prices is the least Stellantis can do. Buy whatever is cheapest!
Actually no. They are only listing discounts everyone can get. Besides, military/student is usually only $500. The conquest rebates from Honda they explained thoroughly.
Wow, that's a great deal. I tried to buy two new Big Horn packages that listed for 58k from my local Ram dealer Steeler in Columbia South Carolina. The best they would do was 7,500 off each truck. That was a month and a half ago. Needless to say, no sale to these chumps in Columbia
I don't know if it's a lingering supply chain issue or if dealers are just stupid, but I can't figure out why most GMC Sierra 1500's with the 3.0l don't have the max trailering package? Having the option to (legally) tow an extra ~4k lbs for about $850 on most truck configurations seems like a no brainier, but there are almost none out there.
The 20% MSRP will be back very soon. The only issue now is that people still pay the outrageous prices. My truck payment is $890.74, and it is for a 2021 Toyota Tundra Limited, which I bought back at 2021 at MSRP and my rate is 2.59% for 60 months loan. Now, a buyer of a mid-size truck will most likely pay more per month than I do for a full time truck.
@@RU-viduser1aa The Out the door price was a bit less than 56k not 65k, I think before taxes, tag, and license the price was about 51k. They did not charge the dealer fee, but here in WA the sales tax is almost 10%.
What I think is happening with the higher trims being sold (and mid to low trims still available) is the "rich" (six figure income) people can afford to buy new vehicles, but the average consumer ("middle class") can't even afford a base model vehicle right now because the cost of those base models has gone up nearly 50% since before COVID. You used to be able to get a base model car or truck for under $25k before 2020, but now you can barely find one for less than $40k.
After watching this, I checked for Power Wagon deals near me. The dealer had a real nice looking blue one marked down from $80k to $70k. But no financing deals...
Deep discounts on WHAT? DEEP OVERPRICED TRUCKS? No effing way. I am going to buy a new full sized truck. I am going to wait until the PAIN is soooo bad that the price is in the true basement. I was bent over for 3 years and although firmly in the middle class I was priced out of a truck. Pound sand until the new REAL price is below 30 g for a lil baby truck.
Can confirm discounts on the Ram 2500’s in Texas. I picked up the Ram 2500 Rebel with the SO Cummins. Picked it up right before end of last year. Ended up getting the truck $21K under MSRP. Loving it so far. Cross shopped GM 2500’s and F250’s. No tangible discounts were being offered on those trucks. Plenty dealerships still wanting over MSRP on high trim F250’s too out here. Appreciate the content as always TFL Team.
You also have to remember in 5 years when the used car market starts to normalize these trucks will nose dive in value. So everyone here has a valid point with 20% off of a truck that was increased by 50% is going to have you end up under water in a few years
Yep.... Ford isn't playing the free money on their trucks.... They're selling them... Best I could get my 23 Raptor is 2.5 k in add-ons over msrp. On the flip side they keep their resale. No one wants the throwaway RAMS or timebomb GM trucks.... They have to drop $$$$ to try and get them off the lot....
How do I find out how long a vehicle has been sitting on the lot?????? I doubt the dealer will tell me. Is there some other source for this information?
Got a great Deal on my 2023 Tradesman 5th gen Warlock package in December, 17th to be exact, car was on the lot for over 105 days, financed through Chrysler Capitol, 43ish otd, MSRP was 50ish! Love the truck!
@strykerentllc I disagree, I got a great deal as far as I'm concerned, even if I mention I got the truck for $5, there's ALWAYS someone that could have gotten the same truck for 25 cents, I'm happy with My purchase which is all that really matters.
Are there deals to be had on Nissan Titans? 23 and 24 models since they are discontinuing them? Always seemed like a good truck (I wouldn’t tow a bunch and the payload is plenty for me. Basically need a full sized just since I have three kids, one in a booster and two in car seats). Anyway, seems reliable and plenty for what I need since me and the fam just go to the snow a good amount. Would love thoughts on that.
Just get a minivan with a hitch on it until they’re out of car seats. Trust me. I have 3 kids and they’re finally all out of car seats so now is the time to get a truck to fit everyone comfortably.
HD trucks are selling because they have no Start Stop or Cylinder Deactivation. This garbage is poison. Why pay extra so you can buy a new engine at 80,000 Miles?
Jeep is struggling to sell the gladiator. Even with 12k off msrp I see lots of them still sitting on the lots. They havent even started with 2024 production because how many 2023s they have in inventory.
They were cool as a niche vehicle when they were one offs from AEV, etc... Once they were a production Jeep? As a Jeep guy, it didn't take long to see a couple things from people buying them and taking them out.... They don't make good trail Jeeps or good trucks... I guess they're ok as Overlanders, but myself personally there's other vehicles I'd rather build an Overlander on.
@@cstgx Plenty of news about the CP4 pumps on '19 and '20. What's wrong with the blocks? Ford is the one still using CP4's and having so many problems.
These guys are way off on pricing. I’ve seen a 24 Silverado 2500 ZR2 for 8k off sticker. Raptors for 4-6k off sticker. Tundras for up to 7k off sticker.
For Ram it's all about their Cab and Transmission being old and stale followed by their engine being lower in power. They're 5 years too late to the party which is too bad because they were on a roll with their half ton trucks.
For the Colorado and Canyon, the problem with those is that they are 60-80k trucks that immediately depreciate to 45-50k as soon as you’re done with the paperwork, meaning that’s what they should actually be selling for because you go immediately upside down on those🤷♂️ and the Maverick and Tacoma’s are priced where those Canyons, and Colorado’s should be. I’m not sure why anyone would want a Gladiator either because they are being discountinued, and the steering on highways has way to much play in it. Can’t say I want a modern vehicle that drives like a 80s vehicle on the highways and I was considering the Gladiator for my next vehicle until experiencing that💀🤷♂️
Yep.... GM is the worst.... I avoid their stuff. Buy a GM vehicle at any other time than Dec or Jan and their value is 💩 by end of the year. End of the year they offer all their stuff at huge discounts under MSRP and another less then what was paid for the same stuff a few months earlier every year like clockwork. Even when my oldest daughter traded her GM car in for a Toyota they cringed when they heard she had a GM to trade in and said they aren't worth much resale.
I cant believe how lucky i got with my 2021 f150 XLT. I bought it new for $6,000 off MSRP, so i was out the door at $48,000 for a fully loaded XLT, Sport, 5.0, and 4x4. It makes it impossible to ever consider trading it in considering the same truck is now $10,000 more!
I feel the same way. I just traded in my 2011 5.0 Lariat with with 130k. I really wanted a new one but that was not in the budget. However thanks to the increase in vehicle supply after the pandemic, I was able to track a number of used truck for 3 or 4 months and watch their prices drop. In October, I found what I was looking for about 30 minutes away. 2020 5.0 Lariat with the 6.5' bed. Was listed for $47,900 and only 12,800 miles. I watched it drop in price every 2 weeks. Till it got down to $44k. End of December I finally went in and negotiated down to $41k, and traded in my 2011. Payments under $700. while the interest rate is pretty high, I can always finance, but for sure I'll pay it off sooner than 5 years.
I’m interested in a Ford F150 Platinum package. Would consider a GMC 1500 Denali Ultimate. Both 2023 models are on lots. How is it that they are not willing to treat these as “Used” trucks. So, MSRP negotiated down by 10%, from $75k to $68k. Now in 2024, why would the dealership not sell this example truck for between $62k to $65k?
Yeah just keep looking you can find them cheap. I just got my 2023 F150 Platinum PowerBoost 83,500 sticker price and I only paid 63,000 for it. Auto Nation Ford in Littleton.
On online it says we have a $40,000 Mavic truck two of them at the Ford dealership you get there oh we just sold it but we have this $1000 truck over here😂😂
Toyota reliability is greatly exaggerated. Their hype comes from people with little experience with other vehicles. These people think Toyotas are the only vehicles that can reach 100k 😂
@@jaimeavakarianvillamonte744 I think Toyota reliability is kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. People pay more money for the Toyota, justifying it because it's reliable, and therefore they intend on taking really good care of it. So with all the care, it's reliable.
