I really appreciate how much you care about your bison. You could have very easily filled that tank up with food before scraping and repainting it and probably nobody would have said a word about it. Or would have known a difference, we only knew there was that much rust because you showed us there was that much rust lol. But you take that extra step. That little bit more, the part that shows your not just in it for the game but for the love of the game. So to speak. I really appreciate that and appreciate watching that. Happy Fathers Day To you.
Dusty, you could have somebody sand blast it to get rid of all the rust & dirt before you paint it. It would give you a smooth surface so the paint won't chip.
Wow when you see the size of Dunbar's head in that small gap, he is massive. So lets hope that he is happy & doesn't get grumpy & do damage to the feeder! Dusty you amaze me with the amount of work you do on the farm & I hope schools will reopen soon for you to go back to your other passion, teaching youngsters! Stay safe & happy in the meantime. Love from South Africa where it is very cold now :(
Great work Dusty , dog enjoyed the ride . Dusty you are care taker for your amazing 👪 and the bison that you have brought ☝ a mighty long way and still is today. I wanna say i enjoy and love this channel. Happy Father's Day
I am so glad you decided to paint it. I was wondering about when I was first watching! I do not think the bison will care about the color! please leave the old feeder for Dunbar to play with it!
I'd be tempted to pour a bunch of paint in the trough and then spread it around with the brush. Neat idea for getting the babies off to a great start with this kind of feeder. Keep safe 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 💘 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
GOOD idea, having it cleaned and repainted before using it! 👍 Some guys get their creep feeders powder coated, too. But that's a whole process lol and can get fairly expensive and involved. Nothing but the BEST for my Eleanor though, right?!? 🐃
Dusty and Daniel look great with their beard cut. 😄😄 they look like brothers. I 💘 you all. I 🙏 that everything and everyone be 👌 from the virus that is out. I thought he was fit ti bite the tires.
👍👍👍👍. Bison looking real good. You already have stamp of approval by Dunbar and that’s what counts. Hopefully he won’t take a liking to the tires too. 😂😂🤣. If one pops he’ll either be scared or go hog wild tearing it up Dunbar style. First two coats of Rustoleum would have helped the bleed through and then the paint. I’ve got some old farm tools that were so rusty I nearly tossed them. Did as suggested and have only had to touch up paint in 25 years. No rusting. You’ve been so busy with cabins it’s a good thing you’ve had this “virus” break. Honey do lists and Bison keep ya real busy. Certain ya wish this was your full time job. Always look forward to videos. Did ya figure out what new baby was.....male or female? Hey hope your FIRST Farhers Day was perfect too. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice...and Of course Dunbar has to give his lick of approval ; ) Boy he can just barely get his head in there...lol. Happy for you, happy for the Bison. God bless..
Awww, look at pretty Maya! Love that dog. 9:52, Dunbar says "mmmm... I smell food..." That feeder appears to be too small for the big bison. He can barely get his head in there.
That's a good idea it'll slow the rust down and they won't be eating rust. Your first father's day I believe. Happy Father's Day! You won't have time to sit around and twittle your thumbs as much as you have going.
The buffaloes are looking great,it's really good that you were able to do this for the herd, also I'm curious as to where your family originated from, I'm also a Baker, may the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
I had a 1965 Dodge window van ,,,,,, In 1980 lol Scrapped it and used Rustoleum spray paint inside and out lol. Held up.... Even spray painted the tire hubs lol.... I never knew how many cans I used but it was a hell of a lot
6 tons, thats a lot of feed. But maybe that will help keep Dunbar from flipping it around. I don't know anything about the liquid feed either. Irs a new feed around here. The feedlots use a lot of it around here. Good idea taking it to the mill for a fill up. Loading bags one at a time would be a chore.
The bison are looking fantastic. Majestic animals!! The new feeder looks great. Looks like Dunbar won't be able to destroy that feeder. Do y'all have to put out salt blocks and mineral feeders like has to be done for cattle farming??
Bless you! Just had to say that since you Sneezed! Looks like that feeder is gunna work out gr8! Good thinking on cleaning it up a bit n painting it to maybe give it a few more years! The bison look good! You take care n be safe! God bless y'all!
There is a product you can spray on after you paint. It is impervious to water even salt water it is used for bridge building and heavy equipment. It’s called iron clad. You can remove it with degreaser but water will not harm it. It is made by ZEP mfg.
Happy Belated Fathers Day. Gosh that is a nice feeder. Don't think the Bison care about color as they only care about the food. Enjoyed and hope you had a great fathers day with Brooke. Try not to over do it in the summer heat. Thanks!
Great Idea. Anything to help keep Bison Healthier. It's Dunbar Approved lol. Might want to get 2 Treated Boards (mine are Salt Water Treated) put the Tires to Feeder on. It's supposed to help keep Tires from Rottening. Just a thought. God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️
Here I thought the large feed holder that Daniel got was big, but your's takes first prize. Good to know the Bison won't overeat. I felt sorry for the new mother. She was staring lngly at the feeder. Take Care
That’s a great bison feeder and maybe if you need to fix that again, my hubby is a 20 year experience painter, and master stainer, if you want to paint something rusty you need to paint with a rust resisting paint first, it helps prevent the rust from coming through, I can’t remember he name of the rust resistant paint, my hubby could tell you (he hasn’t posted yet but he will be posting and giving advice and tips at Veterans Stain & Paint channel)
Hey Dusty, Happy Fathers Day🎉🎊🎈the picnic table at the camp grounds is a good idea and the self feeder is a good idea also. Watching Dunbar he was unsure on what the feeder was lol but now he knows what it is. How is the baby bison doing is it a boy or a girl and how long will it stay with mom. So whats next for CTB keep up the good work and see you in the next video😊😉
Great job on the new feeder. I don't think the bison will care about the color of the paint. All they care about is food water n ezpanding the herd. Happy Father's Day!
They sell a rust inhibitor . When you apply it it changes the rust into good material. You may want to look into it. Even rust oleum doesn’t stop the spread of rust once it has started. A lot of car restoration this is used on! All I can say is give it a try. I haven’t personally used it . I have only seen it done. It turns the material black when it works.
I had a swamp cooler after someone stole my good one and the bottom was rusted out and wouldn't hold water so I had to get Bondo and it worked good on the rusted out part and held water.
