Maltby is a company built on decades of experience over marketing and hype. Best clubs in the world , IMHO. Just now, during the Arnold Palmer Invitational one of the commentators mentioned "The great Ralph Maltby" in a discussion about club design.
@AZstu324
@AZstu324 2 месяца назад
@@obxarms7685 You're right on! many are hearing about Maltby for the first time through Gabe's reviews and are saying "oh, another new DTC". What people need to Understand is that Maltby has been THE DTC for decades. Completely unsung, and unnoticed in today's DTC world. They're not borrowing designs but they're completely innovative and unique from any other company. In the club design world, Ralph Maltby holds a place at the table with Roger Cleveland, Scotty Cameron, Gary Adams, etc.

I'm using the new T350s and l play off 3. They are superb irons. Forget this nonsense of them being for a higher handicap golfer, l know scratch players using them or the T200s. Both very similar irons. I opted for the T350s as l got a bit more distance from them.

@@neilcaulfield7840 I’m going with the t200 1 degree stronger and 1/2 inch longer. I like a little smaller look at address. I suffer from bad hip and lower back pain due to shoeing horses so he found that adding 1/2 inch made a big difference on my strike being 5’7” I didn’t realize how much of a difference it would make but it was more comfortable as well.

How do the KBS Tour Stiff shafts feel? I have these coming in my new Takomo 101Ts and I was hoping they wouldn't be too heavy. It is, as you mentioned, interesting how similar the Takomo 101 and 101Ts are in looks and naming convention to the Caley's. I'm not sure who's copying who or if they are all secretly designed and manufactured in the same place or something. lol. Caley site has these currently at $649

$599. Cleveland Launcher Max. These look like a nice “Throwback style” cavity back. Those Wishons are similar to Maltby right?
@AZstu324
@AZstu324 2 месяца назад
@@LetsPlayThru they're actually pretty different from each other. Tom Wishon was an apprentice to Ralph Maltby years ago (maybe 70's or 80's). They parted ways some time ago and Tom went on to forge his own way and develop his own concepts in club design. Both are revered strongly in the industry as design concept gurus. Maltby continues as a budget-friendly DTC who offers top shelf stuff at affordable prices, Wishon moved on with more of a "custom-boutique" reputation. He still has some great offerings but are a bit more expensive.
