ah yes, the “shy girl has a crush on popular boy but popular boy is the boyfriend of popular girl who bullies shy girl meanwhile shy boy has a crush on shy girl but shy girl doesn’t notice even though shy boy is more handsome than popular boy” trope
When you’re a teenager, having a crush on someone who bullies you or hangs out with your bully is so relatable. When you’re an adult, its super cringe, like, come on, get some self respect.
Yessss. Why i had a crush on the most popular guy in middle school and my bully (a girl), my crush, and me were forced to sit at the same table. Why the bully asked me "do you like him" right in front of my crush!!!! I just sat silent for 20 secs. It was so akward. Would i have gotten more bullied for it if i said yes? We would never know. Years later my cousin had the guy on FB. Why i message him reminding him of the day and he never responded.
100% growing up the "love-hate" couples were so popular but I never got into them bc of my parents 💀 don't give me that "he treats you like sh*t bc he loves you and is awkward* bs either. Stop trying to change ppl! Your "love" isn't going to "heal" them!
Chinese dramas an kdrama- Girl either gets married to some high rank noble and as a whole drama and love story with him or has a love story with him then marries. The love story takes up every episode.
NAUR BUT THAT ONE SCENE IN WHICH SHE THREW THE EGGS DOWN LILY'S APARTMENT BUILDING AND HE WENT AND GRABBED HER WHEN HE HAD JUST COME OUT OF THE SHOWER WITH NOTHING BUT A TOWEL AROUND HIS WAIST KILLED ME- HOW WAS SHE NOT HEAD OVER HEELS THEN?
Me too, she had a great catch right in front of her while the whole time she had her eyes focused on didn't acknowledge her existence until there was something in it for him.
2000's was such a vibe. The retro modern feeling is so nostalgic and welcoming. In my opinion this era of the 21st century is better than what we have now mainly because of the relevance of social media.
Truth. The early 2000s were the best years. I'm not just saying this out of childhood nostalgia, but the world itself in general was more normal and laid-back in those times 💯
As someone who has read the whole series, the movies are mentioned with "the actress is so much beautiful than me" and "they made grandmere nicer and Lilly meaner" and I agree. The movies are good on their own but man, the actual story of the Princess of Genovia has a special place in my heart.
I wonder if Anne would look so lovely in her natural state. So, what sets her apart, sans makeup, plucked brows, from frizzy to smooth, contact lenses, & wardrobe? Dressing to suit her body shape, sure, but mainly her posture - more than standing up straight, it's how you hold yourself - attaining this gives you a feeling of confidence which makes you look better. One other thing. Her smile.
Seriously, for anyone who said they just casted an already beautiful actress to play ugly-to-beautiful girl and that there's no way to become beautiful with just eyebrows pluck etc, have you ever tried to take care of yourself? I do agree that straightening her hair might be a little too much and offensive for those with natural curls, but it's only to emphasize how she's a geek who never paid attention to beauty. If you looked at her mom's hair, Mia wouldn't have such a big curls if she had regularly took care of her hair. Plucking eyebrows, skin treatment and etiquette class were to make her presentable for formal event as a royal. They're necessary for an heir of a kingdom. Anyone can be beautiful or handsome if they tried, even without plastic surgery. Some might need to try harder, but it's not impossible. Even small thing like fixing your hunchback can change people's impression of you in a matter of second.
@@yoon9521 There is insight and maturity in what you say. It almost sounds like the voice of experience. You have something deeper, more meaningful to you. As if you yourself were once an ugly duckling that turned into the beautiful swan and, instead of being bitter and hateful for the treatment you were given from others cruelty, you turned it around and discovered that you have a gift, an amazing and wonderful gift, that through the kindness of your heart, you have made the choice to share so as to help others. This makes you even more beautiful. Thank you Miss Yoon for having that precious part of you that gives of yourself to help others. What a better world it would be if we had more like you..
@@stopspam7401 omg thank you so much for your kind words 🥺🙏🏻 yes, this is said based on my own experience. I was the ugly duckling of my family, and ppl around me would make sure I know it. When I was a teen, I read books about girls like Mia who transformed from ugly to beautiful, I thought maybe I should give it a try. I got a hunchback bc I was quite tall, as a skinny person I looked sickly with bad posture and pale skin to top, so I learned to walk the walk and exercised regularly, it helped fixed my posture, my skin tone got better and I gained some muscles that I no longer look like a stick. In my freshman year, I trimmed my eyebrows, it really changed my face. A little concealer, blusher and lip stain made me look so much healthier. Then I got more serious about beauty, I learned about hair care, skin care, color theory, how to dress etc. Now that I'm almost 30, I don't care that much about what people say anymore, I only do makeup and everything else for myself bc I realized I was never ugly, just unkempt. Some ppl naturally look beautiful, some put on effort but never let others know, some have to work very hard, don't be a person who think it's impossible from the start.
I read the book and it was SO different. First of all, she lived with her uncle and aunt who didn’t give her new things. Still, they kept her safe. Her mother died and her father didn’t know about her? IDK but it’s SO different. She didn’t kiss a boy, didn’t have a chauffeur that was like a guardian angel, didn’t go through all of the “normal” stuff. See what I mean? She learns how to be a princess and moves the Genovia to live with her grandmother, sister (or step sister) and father. I find it outrageous that they changed the ENTIRE story.
I think if she is not the Queen of your country, and you never go to hers, there is a limit on how much trouble you can be in though. I think as long as she stays in America , she is good. 😊
I even forgot about the part where that guy forced a kiss on z sovereign of a foreign nation. I'd like to believe that he would have some secret service types dragging him into a tinted van if this were to happen in real life. At the very least, he would go bankrupt in court after a head of state pushes to have charges pressed.
In real life he would not even get a chance to go near her.. One wrong move and he will receive a hole in in his forehead where he can fit a third eye.. 😂
Disney Channel had a thing about guys who look like that which appeal to teens...lizzie mcguire smart house luck of Irish ring of endless light plus even stevens to a lesser degree and this movie jt in that tyra banks movie...it sells man...what can I say. ...guys with the hair sells....
This kinda hit. I've always been that quiet kid in class thats never really had many friends, and this shows how anyone has the capability to become beautiful, proud, and responsible
Recap unstoppable. It’s a runaway train with flammable materials and the company that’s owns it is trying to stop it before it reaches a sharp curve and derails plus destroying a whole city. I loved the recap though!
I love this movie! The character of Mia is so much like I was as a teenager, without the tiara of course. I silenced bullies with my words. Two years into High School no one dared bully me. But I was still very shy, to this day very shy. Aah, Introverts... We see all the beauty and admire it from a distance, wishing to be by ourselves.
I loved this movie, it was cute. The only thing I didn't like was it was one of those "from not to hot" movies... where they take a drop-dead gorgeous actress and pretend it was the grooming that made her drop-dead gorgeous, putting the focus on things that we are supposed to find silly when we become adults.
@@dyscea I'm not dissing on the idea, it's a great way to entertain us. I just wish they would pick someone who isn't innately drop-dead gorgeous and making her look "not" just via bad grooming. I thought she was gorgeous the whole movie... because I lived with women and that cursed me to see through the packaging. I'm not exceptional in this, there are lots like us, especially as we get older. I just wish they would pick someone "plain" or not-so-comely to do that. I personally know some ladies who actually need to do all that jazz to look good. Even a celebrity comes to mind but I don't want her fans to flame me. Take some "hot" celebrity pictures and photoshop them to not have makeup, have a ponytail/bun, and to actually outline their overall figure and you'll see who I mean. I mean, lots of child actors become "plain" teens... those usually fade into obscurity. So, why not keep them for a movie that includes a makeover? It's win-win all over the place.
Her curly hair wasn't clean. Lenses weren't important but a clean curl or straight hair looks tidy as compared to her naturally curly hair. Princesses have to look tidy because they attend formal meetings and stuffs.
I normally where my glasses, no make up. 2007 I got ready for work. Put in my contacts, and applied a very little make up. I go into work. The operations manager looks at me says "my god, you're actually pretty." I standing like WTF was I before? ugly? (Yes this actually happened in front of other people) Men and advertisers have brain washed women into believing they need to, look, wear, walk, talk, and behave in a certain way for centuries.
@@joylia my older sister keeps watching this everytime I kinda like the movie but watching it literally almost everytime makes me want leave the living room while sister keeps watching this
I truly enjoyed this movie. Teen years are difficult and eye opening to the courage and bravery of being oneself. If your heart or 'gut' feeling does not make you feel something is right...it isn't . Do not do it....walk away. You must trust your feelings and believe with an open eye and heart. Blessings upon you all.❤️🌹🙏
As much as I love this movie, I do have to admit that it does contribute to my 8 year old self having low self-esteem. LOL. Because I have curly hair and it made me feel like having straighter hair would make me prettier 😬
But I always wanted curly hair when I was younger! It actually turns out my hair actually is curly -- at least a little bit. I just didn't know how to take care of it, so it was always just sort of frizzy and feathery. So, yes, we need to see some makeovers starting with curls and ending with better-maintained curls. (That fashion designer was sort of a prick, anyway.)
It’s actually funny that Mandy Moore and Anne Hathaway are both close friends and yet they play enemies. Mandy says that Anne’s smooshing the ice cream on her outfit was one of her favorite scenes to film.
seriously i would've been so pissed if i was her, i also have curly hair and all she literally needed was hot oil and a few stuff to tame her hair fuck that guy
@@pepperdayjackpac4521 yeah I think straight hair looks really good on her but she was pretty with her curly hair too. It’s just the fact that they think she is not pretty with curly hair that is triggering me
I'm glad I'm a princess too like her and that's really cool that she stopped the bullying and it was nice that she's the princess and she doesn't get bullied again.
Both are queen, but Mia is pure queen because of her lata father. Meanwhile her grandmother is not pure queen, she only queen only when she got married.
So weird...I just asked my daughter a few minutes ago about what tv characters or child actors made her childhood happy. Then I watch this video and see all the comments that mention books & shows that made people's childhood happy. My daughter said all the movies with Freddy Highmore, the Agent Cody Banks movies, & Wimpy Kid.
