A great comment and I totally agree!! Long term the alt arts are going to do really well. I think in a few months we will start to see some normalization/support lines form and that might be the time to pounce!! Awesome input my friend!!
Umbreon alt art is no longer $1400 or $1500. It’s already trending back down. You can now pick it up close to $1100 or $1200. Might continue to go lower as people capitalize on this hype. I sold my copy at $1500, and will consider to buy it back if it goes below $1000. This might be correlated to the sell-off from Japanese market, where people now shift their money back to English cards. It just so happened at the same time. Whether it is stocks or cards, price that goes straight up in such short period of time is definitely not healthy and for sure not real or sustainable. You see it in sun and moon when everyone FOMO into it. That crashed, and now it’s happening in sword and shield.
You are wise beyond your years my friend!! The cyclical nature of the Pokemon hobby really is a fascinating thing to watch!! Love the idea of taking profit on the Moonbreon now and snagging it back later after it normalizes a bit. This whole hobby is just a ton of fun and we are so lucky that we can make a few bucks while enjoying something so cool along the way!!

The lovebirds card is a holy grail. I love seeing the top chase exceed a booster box cost. That is really difficult to do when the box costs well over 2k. Great presentation.

Goes up 500 dollars and then goes down 50 and call it a crash. Reminds me of when gas prices go up 1 dollar per gallon and then goes down 20 cents and everyone says gas went down
If any card can avoid the patterns of the past it’s the Moonbreon!! Just like the Love Birds from Team Up the chase card of the era can perform independently of the broader market since it’s the big dawg!! Will be a ton of fun to keep an eye on in the coming months!! Have an epic one!!
Sun & Moon chase card pops are crazy low compared to SW&SH so that’s a good call!! Will be interesting to see what that means for values long term. I’m a believer that the SW&SH era is so popular it won’t have a major effect but we shall see!!
If you're buying it because you love the card and you have the means to do so then it's NEVER a bad idea!!! It's an all time epic card so it's hard to imagine in the long run it not performing well!!
Moonbreon is the hardest card to get a bead on as the biggest and baddest chase card from an era tends to perform independently of the broader market. If I was hunting it I’d look for a PSA 10 and see if things calm down a bit over the next couple months. That card is truly an investment so I’d look for a “fair” price and pull the trigger knowing that in the short term it might wobble but in 20 years it will be a STUD no matter what!!
