I love judge Doorbent! 😍 Thank you for your judging Jimmy! I just want to update, that after watching all angles my incident got penalty removed by the stewards (also Im not wide in that corner im as much as possible on apex because you CANOT touch that yellow sausage in ACC at all).😅😰

The jardier incident was bad race craft from the black car. He had compromised your line into the corner and should have backed off so he could apex and exit the corner with more speed to attack again. It's sad too many people try an hang on in rather than setting up the pass further down the track. So many sim racers attack into a corner rather than focusing on setting up the exit and compromising your opponent.

@marchelligaming

They shouldn’t have removed the penalty, due to if there would be no contact you would have driven black car of the road, so they removed it due to people crying on the internet, and you msking a fuss about it, due to people like you eho think when they pusg somone off it is not a penalty but if roles get reversed it is s penalty.
@Feanor0404
@Feanor0404 6 месяцев назад
@@marchelligaming I would say there was enough room on the outside. On this corner track limits are very forgiving and because its a fast corner where you want to carry as much speed as possible, cars are almost always on the grass with left tyres. That is a normal racing line through there. So there was room left for entire corner exit. It would be tight but both cars could have made it safely. Racing incident in my opinion.

I'm the Blue Players Caddy GTP guy. Just for clarification. The car wasn't happy after the first hit and was doing some weird stuff on the brakes with any turning angle, hence the spin. It was like crab walking when I hit the brakes. And it was the last lap after the checkered flag where I started slowing down, saw him quickly approaching in the mirror (which was like 0.2 seconds of warning due to the rear mirror FOV), panicked, and tried to steer out of the way while on the brakes hence the lockup with the nose to the inside. lol. Not my best moment. I protested this as intentional wrecking and it was successful against green. Just for extra credibility.

The Jardier incident is just 2 guys at the very top of their game going side by side through an extremely fast narrow right hander and touching the tiniest amount. Hard racing. This then results in netcode flinging the other car out into the shadow realm. IRL they would have continued side by side to the next corner. So for me it's a racing incident. Also I think he got a pentalty because in real time it looked worse than it was. I'm glad the stewards overturned it, in the end. We can't blame the stewards either. They do a fantastic job and help us sim racers have the best possible time on track. It was a tricky one for them regardless.
@ShimWreckerEnterprises
@ShimWreckerEnterprises 6 месяцев назад
Also worth noting that Jardier had other incidents in other races with that same guy (he was driving car 997 in the AOR Pro League in the season that just finished) and based on the sum total of their interactions both on and off track (including pretty badly crashing out multiple people in the last few rounds of AOR Pro League this year)... car 997 seems pretty quick but doesn't seem to have very much racing sense.

7:55 Ugh, man....I kinda agree with Jimmer here, but red car is absolutely parking on the apex at that corner. Just because you can outbreak someone doesn't mean it isn't a bit cheeky, you're sacrificing the exit speed of both cars to make a pass and risking a huge accident. Blue car is still at fault for running into him but do we think he can slow down enough to not completely lock up here? do we really think that Red car is making that corner at a reasonable speed? That's a medium speed corner that he's slowing both cars down to make the pass on. Is it legal? I guess so, but it's a 'I was able to get by you because I braked later, it shouldn't matter if I'm taking the corner significantly slower than both of us usually would' kind of move.
@JZStudiosonline
@JZStudiosonline 5 месяцев назад
Rule of thumb, I blame the guy behind. He dive bombed the corner on the inside while the other guy followed a proper line. Definitely not blue's fault. Even if Blue left a reasonable amount of room for the other to get through, there still would've been contact as he understeered off the track.

On the Silverstone punt, I don't think blue is as at fault. For the second one (MX5 clip) it could be argued that the blue car was reacting to the track curving left ahead or following the racing line. For the 4th clip, I wonder if the Lynk & Co could actually see the Audi. The collision didn't seem to affect the Lynk & Co all too much if at all. This is a known glitch in Forza in general as it's been around for several installments and is still a thing in the new FM. The rest of the clip was likely coincidental positioning if that's the case.

Normally in this series I agree with Jimmy most of the time but this episode there was quite a few where I was leaning the other way. For example the first one, the Lambo is at fault, merc was well alongside so should have been allowed more space. Last one, imo the nature of the corner, (having to be on a certain line to take it flat for example), is irrelevant if there is a car well alongside, and in any corner it doesn't matter if the car alongside is trading paint or is on the complete other side of the track, they are still alongside so should be left space, even if it means the next corner or sector is going to be heavily compromised or very awkward.

I would like to point out the lack of avoiding action on the part of the green Cadi at Silverstone. When the blue car spun there was a great opportunity for the green car to dip around the back of him. It would have been an off track overtake, but the car in front was not in control and so it should have been fine. Also, the final incident, while you expect someone to NOT drop an anchor on the racing line into a fast corner, there was time to at least try to swerve around him on the inside of the corner and just follow the black car through. I would mostly judge that video as Insufficiently Opportunistic Racing on the part of the green car.

I've never seen another esport where you're expected to protect your opponents from themselves like this. If you've given someone enough room that should be all that's required. If someone decides to send it through a corner to try and get round you and ends up evaporating then that's on them.

I'm no expert. but in multiclass races, wouldn't it make more sense for the faster class of vehicle, with more downforce to pass on the outside of any given corner?
@rarewhiteape
@rarewhiteape 6 месяцев назад
Depends on the corner. The esses near the start of the lap at Road Atlanta are a place where no LMPs can pass GT3s cleanly at all, so if you’re stuck behind one you have to wait and lose heaps of time. In the two examples given in this video at Road America, the right-hand kink is basically a no-go zone for any passing unless you’re all the way alongside, and that’s usually because the GTs need the entire track on the exit. The following left-hand kink is an ideal place for passing on the outside because cars tend to stay left for the braking into the much slower right hander that follows. If the car in this video just waited half a second that outside lane would have opened up and he’d be on the inside for braking into Canada Corner. But it looks like the driver just had a case of tunnel vision where he drove as if he was the only car on the circuit. Pretty easy to do if you’ve done a bunch of laps with no traffic and you’re used to just flinging it into a corner like that.

For the first clip other than the weird FM steering physics mentoined by others, I could see the game giving a time penalty for a direct rejoin there. I've experienced it before where Ive been pushed off track just from heated racing and been given a time penalty even though it wasnt my fault for being of track. The off track penalty is a bit borked so the amg may have been trying to avoid that.

On the 2nd clip I think the blue car was too intent on following the racing line aid. It is there for reference only and in situations like that it would be better to look at the surroundings and given more room for the faster car.

That last clip at Zandvoort feels especially silly because after that left hander is a flat right kink then a very fast right hander. Neither of which make any sense to be on the outside of so there was absolutely no point in lunging up the inside at all.

I saw a third incident in that second clip...the black car with the yellow roll cage went off track to pass (reacting to what was going on in front of him) without giving the position back! If only Jimmer would appear in the comments to pass judgement on this move!

You must leave-a da space!!! It's crazy how many drivers can't get that through their head. Here's my advice: Err on the side of caution. If there's any question of whether you need to leave space, meaning you are not sure if they are along side or along side "enough", then just leave a car width. If the guy is on the outside, be prepared to leave space, unless you KNOW you are clear. Then you are covered. If you don't leave it, you are just as likely to crash as the other guy. What's worse? Losing a position, or a DNF? And for those trying to overtake. If you aren't at least halfway overlapped, you should probably back out. Get a better run next time, or better yet, Get them to cover the inside (compromising their line) and leave room to get a good run out of the corner. Then you can drive right by them down the straight and they can't do anything about it.

Those prototypes at RA are exactly how most gt3 cars have their races ruined, and the prototypes drive off like nothing happened. They need to start issuing special event bans for drivers that do that.

Clip 1: I'd say the AMG drove next to the lambo only at the apex, so the lambo was already committed and didn't have to leave him room. Racing incident. Clip 2 incident 2: to me as soon as someone is next to you with any part of his car on a straight, you have to leave him at least one car width. (I'm not gonna count the kink as a corner) so even though blue car probably just wanted to get back to the left side after being overtaken there he should have checked if it was clear. It wasn't and judging by the direction he was going he'd probably not left any room anyways. I'd say blue is actually at fault for this one. Clip 3: similar to clip 2 but here the gap was closed before the Porsche is next to the Mercedes. Even though the aggressive rejoin was more likely a lack of control on the grass, Porsche is still at fault. Clip 4: black Audi was alongside at turn in so the blue Audi had to leave him the space. Clearly the blue audi is at fault. Might even be intentional wreck. Clip 5: same starting situation as clip 4, different outcome. Still black Aston is at fault. Given that he has the disadvantage I'd call it a no further investigation. Clip 6: one tire still within the white lines. No contact. No further investigation. Sick slide though. Clip 7 incident 1: BMW couldn't turn more than he did. noone at fault. Racing incident. Clip 7 incident 2: clearly the white McLaren fault. Just sends it. Would never have made the corner while leaving room for the BMW and the black McLaren on the outside. Clip 8 incident 1: camera car at fault. They just drove in the back of the car in front. Clip 8 incident 2: more of a racing incident since camera car couldn't really avoid the contact without just heading straight off course. Clip 8 incident 3: I'd say it's not an intentional block but rather giving the black car on the inside the corner. Camera car didn't see that move coming so there is that. Probably more the blue cars fault. Clip 9: in multiclass the faster category has to make sure the overtake is safe and respect the room the slower category needs. Cadillac at fault. DQ Clip 10: same as clip 9. Cadillac at fault. Clip 11: agree to Jimmy, although I am ok with reacting as long as there is enough room for the other car to react and as long as you don't close the gap when they are next to you. But in the kink camera car closes the gap when the other car is already inside so camera car at fault. Clip 12: even though the move wasn't going to work, but the BMW still should have left the space on the inside. So bmw at fault.

I will say with the Jardier incident, whilst he's a little wide of the apex, that apex has a nasty arse sausage kerb that's pretty lethal if you catch it wrong. In qualifying I'd push right up against it, but in races I tend to give it a bit of a wide berth as it can easily unsettle the car and throw you into the gravel. Side by side it's also probably wise to avoid as get it wrong and you'll crash into the car next to you anyway
@jvd_rx

about prototype and gt collisions, the simple rule (just like in real life) is that GT's just follow the racing line, and its up to the prototype to for overtaking it correctly. ofcourse if the prototype is already next to it, than a GT car just cant turn in. but that are mostly in slow speed sections. important with this type of races that you need a bit of patience and time it correctly. even though i wasnt the outright fastest with prototypes, i saved a ton of time with this. in case i was in a GT car I kept my eyes in the mirrors aswell, I would already position my car a little bit more clear just to indicate to the prototype behind me where he should pass me. it is working together really aswell, just to make sure you both not crash and not loose time otherwise.

I don't think Jardier "had room" on the apex He did, physically, but he was millimeters from that curbing, that really tall curbing Touching that probably would've lifted him off the ground some amount and made him trail out more, making him ping into the other guy anyway

The problem of the second driver is that he has the racing line on, and just followed it while being completely oblivious to the fact that there is a car on his left so he shouldn't move left.

Silly question, but when people get together for sim race championships or leagues or whatever, are there stewards? It would seem sensible and I'm sure there are people qualified/enthusiastic enough to learn/qualify for it.

Yes there's stewards, it's different ways of getting in depending on the championship. Basically just talk to the guys but fairly often you have to talk and show that you have very little bias and can look at the incident objectively along with all the little nuances. But a quite a few championships are full of stewards

I think I can tell what happened to the Skechers BMW at Monza in 12:30 well I'm not in the server but just watching this, and how the other cars behaved, I have a feeling. The BMW misses the braking point into T1, easy. Then they go side by side down to the second chicane, and then the other Mclaren does that absolutely boneheaded 3-wide dive into a corner that barely fits 2. That's plenty obvious for everyone to see. But what REALLY got the BMW driver banned, was what happened afterwards: some server admins put up some special rules such as "always wait for the other guy if you cause a collision", and the BMW guy just drives off after the incident, after all we're all racing. So I'm thinking the admins saw that and banned him for that, not the incident. Stupid, I know, but I've been banned for less from tactical shooter servers. That, or the black car was the server owner. Such is life, sometimes. You're probably better off not racing there anyways, either case.

Jardier: have seen overlaps like that with no netcode issues, acc is far better than about anything there. Car on the outside turned in too hard imo - if jardier had pushed him off at the exit ( might have happened ), different story. Last one, no matter how half-arsed that was there was still quite an overlap before the corner, wasn't like the macca poked his nose in late, the beemer just turned in anyway. He could have pinned the mclaren on the outside & kept the position through all the following right handers.
