Seeing some odd comments here. Tbh i just did this for a bit of fun. I've done stupid beam stuff in the past and this is meant to be that. Sorry if it wasnt for you.
I think this upload just happened to line up with a shift in the BeamNG community away from this style of video. There has been a trend among some Beam creators to repeatedly dumb down their videos to loud over-edited crash filled chaos that's always the same sort of thing (usually one of a handful of maps, Car-Jump Arena being a common culprit) that are really starting to come across as lazy. This video wasn't the same as those, but it's definitely falling victim to this sense of community apathy. I know I (and I expect others) would love to see you try taking on some of the other aspects of Beam (which you absolutely have done). I know you've done basically all of the challenges, but I think it'd be cool to see you try out the multiplayer mod and do some real racing (with the risk of damage that you can get from beam), or have a go at the nurburgring by modifying a stock car (ermz did this a while ago and I thought it was awesome). But regardless, always love your work.
its precisely because this type of content is vomited in the beamng category of videos in the thousands. most of them being very low effort mass produced content
Is that the silver one from '99(I think?) that took off on it's own twice? Yea I was hoping it would make an appearance - but I don't know how the aerodynamics are done in these games. I know everything in sims is modelled great for driving, but once you throw weird shit at them, physics kind of fall apart
@@ICKY427 oh i never heard that. Understandable, but i wonder what problems he would have for using a imported track from AC when the mod credits Kunos Simulazioni - Original assets (Assetto Corsa).
@samuelgarrod8327 Dude, it was sarcasm. Love Jimmy's content. It's other RU-vidrs that do this sort of content as shorts, and it infests your shorts even when you're not subscribed.
Reminding me of the Flatout2 minigames where you send it down a ramp and eject out of the car to smack a giant dartboard with your helpless ragdoll driver. Peak car game era.
What's going on in the comments, lots of people are saying this is somehow bad/low effort/"average youtuber" content, a step down from what he usually makes? I disagree, I'm just happy to see a fun video, and Jimmer is clearly having a good time as well. Besides, this really isn't the first time Jimmer does a silly challenge in BeamNG.
id honestly love seeing him time trial some of the ported race tracks in beamng, its not perfect yet but its alot better than the last time he did that
What? Not a single mention of The Hero Bus' inspiration, Evel Knievel? The most American American who ever Americaned, breaking every bone in his body to inspire cape wearing BeamNG buses everywhere?
This hails back to some of the earlier Jimmy content from BeamNG that was always fun to watch. Loved it! Got me thinking what else could work… are there any “proper” drag cars in BeamNG? Like the 10,000 HP things with the massive rear tyres? An alternative video could be trying to ace the landings?!
Jimmy, did u know there are quite a number of mods of touge maps in BeamNG? It is very well made/ported too. U can actually test out irohazaka jump for real.
After watching Neilogical destroy engine after engine with his controller on car jump arena, it is so satisfying to see someone with a manual shifter who throws it into neutral.
nothing better than doing stupid shite in beamng, in my case i crammed a 1300hp v12 diesel into the new t series, crammed the biggest turbo i had access too and shoved an 18spd transmission into it, its fun to motor storm it
so, almost as long as Neil, whose first BNGD mod video is almost 11 years ago, and who has done this specific type of video over 50 times... so, what I'm trying to say is that it's not an unfair comparison by any means.
I am now disappointed there was no rocket powered Mini Cooper. At least you would have had real world data to compare. (Edit: search Top Gear Winter Olympics for the real world data)
This really shows how good the aerodynamic sim is in BeamNG and that it's actually processed in real time based on the physical properties of the car model, it's not just hardcoded in. Watch how the F1 when it's not broken is pushed the the ground by the downforce and then when it hits the ground and the front wing falls off, the front just goes up in the air.
9:01 I was so sad that didn't stick the landing. That would have been pure art! Although landing in the pool Keith Moon style was a nice touch I suppose! 😂 Forget the Goodwood shootout, BeamNG car jump is where it's at!
I knew what Jimmy was getting into with the FR17. That thing was notorious for being just as likely to generate lift as it was to generate downforce, if not more so.
Overrevs Engine, damaging it: "Listen to it roar!" Grinds gear, damaging the synchronizer: "Ohh, the shifts, you love to see that!" Professional Sim Racer Jimmer here
If you're starting beamng, a great time can be found in chucking around a gtz miramar. Cross plys and a lightweight solid rear axle chassis is great fun.
Does this mean we'll get a 4-Schanzentournee in BeamNG next?? Ngl, that would be fun to watch. This is good too, ESPECIALLY when watching the real 4-schanzentournee on tv.
The Truck was probably the most violent crash I've seen in this game, ever. Wow. Also I guess the problem with the F1 car "without" aero was, that the underfloor itself is part of the aero pack, so you just created a less stable downforce car. (I'd have done the same, tho). But if there was an early 90's-ish F1 car with the flat bottom, and rip the wang of, it could be fine. With the modern F1 car, you'd need to do half a kickflip when launching, so that the down force "points up" (becomes lift) and hope to get it at the right angle of attack, so that the lift is a bit tilted in front of you. Maybe it's even possible to somewhat control pitch, with the DRS. Then it should fly like a little birdy. (How you'd do half a roll, I don't know, neither how to get it to the right AoA, nor if it works anyway, but in theory it should not be completely impossible...
