He’s surpassed Shaq in terms of playing with the best guard talent ever. Durant has played with Westbrook, Harden, Curry, Klay, Kyrie, CP3, Booker and Beal Shaq had played with Penny, Kobe, Wade, Nash, Eddie Jones, Van Exel and Rondo
Fish, Jones and NVE are ight. Now, Kobe, Wade, Nash and Penny were ELITE but yeah KD has had prime Russ, Steph, Irving, Harden, Booker, CP3 and now prime Beal
Beal has a completely redundant skillset with KD and Booker. He doesn't really pass or play great defense, the 2 things the roster really needs around KD and Booker. This seems more like a your turn, my turn type of team, rather than one that really makes each-other better. Could dominate 2k sims though.
literally what the nets were😭, kd can play off ball but booker shouldn’t be your point, maybe they promote cameron payne to the starting 5 but it’s gonna be ard i scored, it’s your turn now
Kyrie is the reason why the Nets failed. KD carried the Nets in th ECF alone. When KD and Kyrie last played together they went 12-0 run. So it's not over yet for KD.
@@jodonthesith7172they were the only team to get 2 wins and they had only played together for 8 games. They had zero chemistry. Now they’ll have a whole year together & added Beal. Do t see how they got worse
Don't forget, KD wanted to either get traded to the Heat (Was in the Finals in 2020) or the Suns (Was in the Finals in 2021) after failing in Brooklyn. Dude is a coward that wants the easy way out
oh he wanted to go to a good team like every other star player in the history of the NBA, you're just a salty loser mad he hasn't accomplished half what that man did by the time he was 19
@@smoothsavage2870 lol right, please show me this list of NBA stars that requested trades to go to shit teams while we're at it. And I've never seen Durant get an ounce of credit for those two rings, what world are you guys living on
This is the worst superteam he's been on yet. People forget that the Nets had quality depth pieces. I think that one would have worked that first year with Harden if not for the injuries. The Nets also didn't have the basic math problem that the Suns have. KD and Booker don't really take threes, and Beal can't make threes. The Nets had a ton of 3pt shooting. You can't win in the modern NBA without it.
Then the answer is for the suns to triple down on this all offense team by trading Ayton for KAT, that way you get an elite 3 point shooter that can space the floor for your mid range guys
@@MrE_ How are they supposed to pay for all of this?! They need depth, bench. They won't be able to hire nobody. They should now trade Ayton for role players.
Talk about being top heavy, they got no bench there gonna have to go searching for pieces through undrafted players which isn't a bad thing, but is a challenge.
i'm not up on beal, I thought he was supposed to be decent. is it just that he doesn't deserve his contract or is he not good? Was he dropping 60 pt games a couple seasons ago?
@@demonreacts7816Easy. When they haven't filled out the roster, means they'll be adding more players genius. You dont know what the front office is doing so stop acting like you do. Theyre gonna complete their roster, and once they have and if you still feel the way you do then have at and make fun of them. You just can't do that when you haven't seen the official roster yet
He wasnt an 18 and 10 guy in the playoffs with just KD and Booker. He had 13 and 10. He probably will drop to less than 10ppg with the Beal signing (if they dont move him).
He can't win while cheating either lmao. Look at all those crazy teams he was on and he didn't even come close to winning. It took that Warriors squad for him to do it
They need to trade Ayton for depth, or else this will be another disaster. Surprised they didn't learn anything especially with the Nuggets winning the championship. Super teams are no longer the way to go in the NBA.
Man i truly believed the superteam era was over, but here we are again and were gonna hype up the suns again for another 2nd round exit lol. KD better win a title with this team lol.
It's funny that the people who are saying that KD "better win a title with this team" and "has no excuses" know that this team is not built to win, but they still wanna say. It's also funny that the same people that have been discrediting his rings are the same ones that are criticizing him for trying to find winning situations elsewhere.
@@urbaindelva7869 well its 1 simple thing KD has to do, and thats "not stack the deck, and jump ship when things get a little hard" stay when things don't pan out, and let the GM build a foundation around you and the other top guy
Superteams have existed in the NBA since the late 50s. They aint ever going anywhere. They might be gone for a year or 2, but they will always exist. If yall actually knew basketball history, yall would know this.
i looked up the contracts and booker is a free agent after this season, his expected extension is 5 years/$224M, they’re screwed financially and long term
On the flip side, Beal would have two more seasons until he has a player option, so he can take one for the team and sign a more affordable 4-5 year contract.
As a Heat fan, I’m crushed. If Pat doesn’t land us Dame, conversations need to happen. Second off season in a row we passed on a sure thing to chase a fantasy.
From what I was hearing it was gonna be duncan robinson and I think a first or second round pick which I believe is all beal is worth if the wizards wanted more than no trade only person who deserves a big trade is dame I do hope we get him tho
It's disappointing for sure. The Heat doesn't have to trade core pieces to get Beal because of his no trade clause but it is what it is. Hoping they'll get Dame instead.
Let's be fair to Durant, the Brooklyn nets team was never fully healthy. They only play together 16 games and looked unstoppable. And the one time they made it to the conference finals, I believe Kyrie Irving got injured or something like that. But let's not act like that. Team was completely healthy. The same with the sons. Chris, Paul got injured. Now we could question his choice and teammates. That I agree. He's a horrible decision maker.
Kd played a total of 22 games with kyrie and harden and chris paul hasn’t been chris paul in years. Let’s not overstate kd’s “super teams”. With that said, kd at the 4 and bring in a solid vet pg. Dope line up.
KD will never recreate the magic with golden states, gsw had depth and an unselfish superstar who didn’t require the ball to be dominant.....all these super teams he is joining are just ruining his legacy,he is an amazing player ,him with another all star and a supporting cast is enough to win a championship...he should stop allowing super teams n he likes being like ‘oh,I didn’t know that they are trading for a super team ‘knowing damn well that the team won’t make such a decision without informing him
I know everyone is making fun of KD and he does deserve it. But everybody was slandering the suns after the nuggets beat them but they by far put up the best fight. They were the second best team and likely win the finals if they could get past the Nuggets.
Bradley Beal is overrated. I used to like him a lot and wanted him so badly to get that All-Star when he was averaging 31ppg and didn't even get a reserve spot. Now, he's paid way too much money and is not a player than can do multiple things. He is one-dimensional and is not going to fix Phoenixs' problems. Their problem this season was not having enough depth and defense. You have KD and Book that can give you 80 points a night if they really felt like it and now you're just adding another player that can shoot?? Okay, you'll score a lot, so what? We thought the Big 3 in Brooklyn would be unstoppable, but clearly they were able to be stopped. Health does play a part into that too because ain't no way KD is playing more than 60 games. Suns should trade Bradley Beal now for someone younger and some depth. I don't know if that's allowed, but that's what I would do. I would've never done this trade in the first place. Garbage GM.
It is overall a lot of question marks but at least the good news is they are going to at least have a training camp together to build on this chemistry it just will be super important how they fill out the rest of that roster.🏀
That’s what I was thinking when lakers got Russ see how that turned out. Same with Brooklyn second season with harden had training camp didn’t work. This team isn’t going anywhere
The is a 100% "L" for the Suns. Beal and Booker are already both shooting guards, and Durant plays like an overside guard anyway. Do you realize that Beal is guaranteed through 2027, and makes more money than LeBron James? Now, I grant you, LeBron isn't what he was, but he's still the biggest celebrity draw in the NBA. Beal is a good guard, don't get me wrong, but he's no better than Devin Booker. Sure, you can put them both on the floor, but there's still only one ball.
As a Suns fan you should know that theyre working on it. You dont even know exactly who's on the roster right now so wait and see before coming to your conclusion
@@tashied422 they have 6 players on pay roll and there over the luxury tax by 30 mil or so. so, u tell me who they can pick up with no money. Also, if this doesn't work out idk what picks we have like 1 second round pick. Thats going to be fun I would love to go back in time when we won like 20 games in the season but ur right idk how this is going to end up we still can move ayton.
I will wait until they figure out what is gonna happen with Ayton, Okogie, and any free agents they can grab (like D-Rose for a reason). But this can definitely work. The Nets are the only team that KD has been on that didn't work. And the problem had nothing to do with what happened on the court. Kyrie got suspended, Harden didn't like it, and KD got hurt. The year before that, more untimely injuries and KD still almost beat the Bucks who got the chip. As long as this team gets rotation players, they will be terrifying. Not only because KD is a top 3 player, but also because Book is a top 15 player (and should be considered with Tatum and Doncic with the development of his passing and defense). If they can move Ayton for strong rotation players, then things get crazy. This is not the same as playing with Kyrie and Harden. Book may be a diva on the court, but it is worse to have two divas off of it.
I’m confused as to why everyone seems to be blaming Durant for the Suns getting a steal of a trade. I mean do they expect him to tell them not to get Beal in exchange for 38 year old CP3 and Shamet?
I know they may fail but please don't act like they're not contenders. Everyone shitting on them but when they actually win, watch these very people switch. Nobody can predict how a team will do in the playoffs, watch Miami. Players step up in unimaginable fashion... I still got hope for Landale, Biyombo, Cam Payne etc. I know they can fail miserably as well. But please stop acting like oh this is not great blah blah. Just atleast watch them play first, for a whole year together then we'll talk. Cmon guys. And I'm not even a Suns fan at all
He hasn’t underachieved since OKC. Warriors-2 rings, Nets-Would’ve got a ring but injuries stopped him, still almost carried to the finals, Suns-has only been there 1 year.
@@iceinmyveins7521 oh yeah because winning 2 rings with the 73 win team and maybe the greatest dynasty in nba history is overachieving right? kd REAAALLLY had to work for that one having the measly steph, klay, and draymond and the good culture of the warriors to get his chips.
@@CaptainBuggyDClown funny at how the nets part you fail to bring up he got bounced out of the first round, swept. member how y'all said the nets were like perennial championship contenders in the east when we heard kd and kyrie went to brooklyn? yea i remember. imma make a prediction too you're gonna pull the shoulda, woulda, coulda shit vs the bucks like "oh if his toe was just a bit smaller". plus 2 rings with the warriors? oh wow congrats, that must've been back breaking work for you huh kd?
It's like KD is chasing the star power he had on Golden State but failing to see how much of that was the result of good drafting and talent development not just trading for raw scoring
All KD is doing is trying to prove he can win chips without Steph. Every year that he cant win one just adds to the idea that he wasnt the main guy and he got carried.
@@jigga4343 anyone with 2 eyes sees he wasn't carried, he helped, but all it proves is he can't win on many teams that lower ranked top guys can win on, I bet you jimmy butler can win few rings on the teams KD has had, and thats what pisses me off
@@theonlygoodonehere2259 oh is that why he keeps getting called a bus rider? yea he helped a 73 win team whose core won a chip before and after he left. if he cant win now he will always be a bus rider.
Great vid Swish! I literally had this exact conversation earlier today before the trade dropped about how the last 4 teams standing this year were constructed. The most recent championship teams without LeBron that didn't draft multiple key players was really Toronto (Kawhi, Marc Gasol) and Milwaukee (Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, PJ Tucker). (We all know when LeBron is on the team, it's different.) Even those teams still drafted most of their talent. Toronto also shows this strategy is incredibly fickle even if it works once, since Kawhi left immediately after.
imagine if he went to Portland you'll have a player like dame and that's all you really need they got a good bench probably just need to bring in a center and that's it 🤔
The past years as a Suns fan has been the craziest roller-coaster. Suns look unbeatable and we lose and embarrassing fashion 2x. The front office panics trading away the young stars (Mikal and Cam) and ALL OF OUR DRAFT PICKS for win now pieces(KD). Didn't work. Well, now we don't have a bench, we don't have money, why not go for Bradley Beal... really? The Suns needed depth back when DB was injured thats why they started losing more games. Mikal Bridges was turning up before the All-Star break and DB was coming back I fully believe that Mikal was going to start going off like he did in Brooklyn not to the same level maybe but definitely at least 23 pts with amazing defense added. Now it might not even be possible to get a bench. This season is about to be interesting.
not his fault, but you cant blame a team that wanted to win... the only we to get that chances high is get the best talent available... i think for sure he is better than lebron on that jumping ship thing thats 1 thing he can be proud of... while lebron finishes his contract
You're judging the roster when they aren't done making moves, they have Ayton to swing for depth and I guarantee that is what they will do and all the haters are going to look really dumb, just saying
Brad Beal is a better playmaker than ppl give him credit for and D Book has gotten better on that end. KD has always been a pretty good passer as well but he’s gotten better as he’s gotten older. Him and Brad Beal can play well off the ball so you can get them easy shots. With Cam Payne, we know they’re gonna run the floor so they’re likely gonna be a really good transition team. Idk if they trade Ayton or not but I would. If the Pacers really want him, that Turner and Hield trade would be there but even if it’s not, someone will give you a decent big and a shooter for him. The playoffs is 1-8 sometimes 1-9 and their top 3 is already top of the league. They don’t need to be a juggernaut in the regular season, they just need to get to the playoffs healthy. But even with that said the Suns have battled injuries for years and still had good regular seasons.
Point being, I have to see who they get for or if they trade Ayton at all… but depending on who comes they have the start of a really good damn team 🤷🏾♂️
Never heard anyone call Booker a respectable defender. Same dude who got mad at his team mate for guarding him hard during practice 😂 Also the Suns have always prioritized entertainment/filling seats, over winning a championship. As fans, we sometimes forget its just business
So he does what Lebron did and Lebron is "the goat" and KD gets no respect? He joined the Nets and Suns (the ONLY super teams he has ever been on) everyone is mad? Lebron joined the Heat with Wade, Bosh, Mike Miller (the 2nd best Grizzlies' player at the time) and got Ray Allen (best shooter at the time), then joined the Cavaliers with Kyrie, Kevin Love (great scorer and the best rebounder at the time), then joined the Lakers, got AD, Rondo, Deandre Jordan, Dwight Howard... and no one is mad that Lebron joined 3 super teams, but everyone is mad that Kevin Durant joined 2 super teams? I respect KD's decision to leave OKC (where he was forced to let Westbrook brick layups and couldn't win) to join the Warriors, who weren't a super team since they were built through the draft (unless we consider Iguodala a superstar, which he has never been) to win 2 championships and 2 Finals MVPs. If KD is weak for 2 super teams, Lebron is weaker for 3 super teams
Not reading all of that, but Bron just made it work better. KD is a great player, but he is not a leader. Bron is floor general and runs the offense. He’s vocal. I’ve never heard anyone who played with KD say that.
@@jen_nice2059 You basically said they play 2 different roles. I don't get your point. Also, wasn't KD the finals MVP 2 times, as the leader (not captain)?
We could have got Kyrie Irving, Jaylen, brown, Damian Lillard, Myles turner, Buddy Hield the list goes on we get Bradley Beal like wtf are we doing we better trade DeAndre Ayden for some great depth WE COULD HAVE GOT Tyler Herro I just don’t understand OG Anunoby 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Man I wish we could see more of the KD we saw when he took the Nets into overtime for game 7 of the conference finals 2 years ago. He doesn't need 2 other guys who can drop 30 a night around him. I'm fuckin sick of seeing this shit happen. I'll probably still watch some Suns games tho 😂😂 I am glad Bradley Beal will have a better chance at a deep playoff run
I know he might like these lineups better but as a fan it makes for too many uncompetitive games. KD Warriors years were my 2 least favorite years of the NBA since I've been watching in 2011
KD can't win without Curry, end of story. He failed with Westbrick, young Harden and Ibaka. He failed with Kyrie and Harden. He failed with Booker, Ayton (ok, Ayton was always a joke and still got top dollars, and it was sure he would get man-handled by Jokic) and CP3. He will fail wil Beal as well.
Also Im just not sure what anyone is seeing because with CP3s contract you still gonna have the same cap issues. You turned CP3 and Landry Shamet, who was nearly unplayable in the playoff, into Bradley Beal lmao. The roster was gonna be filled with vet min guys regardless so the whole “depth” conversation was gonna depend on who they could get for cheap ANYWAYS. Point being, they were NEVER gonna be able to have a team like Denver or Boston cuz of how they built the team already. In terms of following the Lakers’ path, they had an extra max contract so they could really have the best of both worlds trading one for a star and another for pieces which is likely what I think they do with Ayton. He doesnt have that same hussle that he did in the 2021 playoffs for whatever reason.
