Ahoy! The launch of Villainy Enamels washes has arrived! Watch the video, visit the Grimdark Compendium website, and LOAD UP! Check out Villainy Inks: grimdarkcompendium.com/villainy-ink/
The cotton swabs you use for cleaning guns. Swab-its are also excellent (washable). They're designed to clean up gun cleaner residue, mineral spirits and enamels won't phase them. I accept cash and money order only. :-p
But seriously, cotton swabs geared towards gun cleaning. Very tightly packed, most have nice firm points to let you get specific areas. Alternately, buy Tamiya craft cotton swabs triangle small, part TAM87106. Pricier, but you get from a trusted manufacturer.
This channel was the reason why I made my own washes after streaking grime using oil paints and various combinations to create certain effects. I was not part of the initial start up, but I will be a customer because those washes are beautiful and I can see myself using them on a regular basis. Edit: I did not realize you are Canadian, I am in Ontario and this just solidified my purchasing power because you will be getting my support
So happy to see you launch your own enamels and I’ll be picking them up once you’ve secured a UK seller. Also looking forward to seeing some demonstration videos for sure
So, I was a part of the initial campaign I only ordered (4) bottles...I think I'm going to need to ordered the rest! By the way, I AM HAPPY to pay $12 per bottle for a product you believe in and to support someone directly from our community of grimdark painters @vicon40k! Great job!
Yeah buddy! Cashed in 70 of my credits. :-) hooefully youre not havjng to rush back and forth to the oost office. Extremely excited to try jt out and used my remaining credits to fouble up on my favorites. I wish you the greatest success and tremendous fortunes! Thank you for all you do!!!
That is absolutely amazing, It will surely be in my periphery on my painting journey. I also have total admiration for your creation and production. Thank you for sharing this
I would love to see these supplied in the UK. Best of luck with your endeavours! Looks like a super handy range that I would love to add to my collection.
Gonna order a bunch after christmas. Cant wait to check them out ! The shipping to Sweden kinda sucks though, have to pick up atleast 3 to make it worth it tbh.
Great to see that you ship in Europe too i will wait to have more money and probably buy it. You have made me entered in the world of grimdark and even if my paint is not as goos as yours i really enjoy this universe more than the others style of minipainting. Did you plan to make some video on how to use the ink in the correct way? Thanks for your work from belgium😁
Very happy to see these and will be buying them in the near future. I do have a question I hope you could answer, why is the From The Vault Death Guard video no longer freely available, I was super inspired by it and bought everything to start painting my minis using that video as the basis and now that I have everything and was ready to paint this weekend its no longer free to watch? Bit sad as I feel as it was free for so long and now that Im finally ready its locked.......
Every video that is part of the course material on the Grimdark Compendium website has been moved to membership. Members of the Compendium pay to have access to all these tutorials so we can't have them be free on RU-vid.
@@GrimdarkCompendium I can appreciate that but it was free on RU-vid for 2 years. Pretty disappointing to have it locked behind a paywall seemingly out of nowhere as I hope you can see where I am coming from.
Very exciting! These are looking good. Would love to see the range rounded out with some strong, single-pigment primaries. The space is definitely lacking in good, saturated washes of this kind!
Congrats on the succesfull launch, been following since your first upload! I backed the campaign on the 30 credits tier, is there an option to buy additional credits atm? I'm living in europe so i would like to order a few more bottles to offset the shipping cost
Credits were for only the campaign so they are no longer available. We will be utilizing credits in the future like being able to earn credits on purchases and watching videos etc.
I can't wait to get my pre-ordered set! I was supposed to get the following: Ichor of the Damned, Goon's Grime and Deep Rust. I don't see the Deep Rust. Is it already gone?
I've never worked with enamels before, but I'm familiar with oil washes and how those are used. These look great but I'm still a bit fuzzy on the proper reductive method you're referring too. I look forward to watching the demonstration videos. I'm also eager to see if there's a recommended undercoat for better application, such as a gloss varnish which makes using oils more optimal.
Thank you! They are much different than oils. I'll have the demos up soon. In the meantime time you can watch the learn grimdark course. It's covers enamels and the reductive technique.
This sounds great! Would love to get them, but the price for shipping to Sweden (and the inevitable import costs that we get when ordering from the US) along with the bottles themselves would be a little too expensive for me. For others in the same situation, that are looking for something like the old AK Streaking Grime, I use Ammo by MIGs Streaking Grime. It has that reddish-brown that the old AK one had. It's not perfectly the same, but very similar if I remember correctly.
I've purchased all of the available ones thus far, looking forward to seeing them. So they are different to other enamels in that you don't use other solvents to remove them, did I understand that correctly? Put them on and remove without spirits etc? They look really vibrant unlike other weathering enamels too, nice job.
Have you subscribed to our news letter? Head over to the website and check your account for credits. You can use those credits to purchase the Inks. Backer orders ship December 15th
I been painting painting Moria goblins recently and using streaking grime to good effect. However, your product looks more like what I wanted! Also, the grim dark vids are what I was using. Will you sell a complete set of all of them in 2024?
@@GrimdarkCompendium Great to hear! The products look great and I love to try them out but with the customs fee and shipping I have to wait until they are available here in EU
Quick (possibly dumb) question. Where can I find information about “becoming a member” and what is involved in that? The site I went to didn’t show exactly what that means, it just showed different tiers. Thanks
It's pretty straightforward. All the premium access memberships, being the monthly, yearly, or lifetime, offer access to all the courses and tutorials on the website. All you have to decide is the term of your membership.
I’m very curious how these dry after removal. it is very useful to not have to varnish certain models but sometimes I find I have to when the wash dries too dusty. Dark brown wash seems the worst for this Also hoping at some point you have a store in the uk selling them, not sure I can get them till then. Uk is a huge hobby market obviously
That is correct. You were not charged shipping during the campaign. The info sheet on the campaign stated that shipping would be charged at checkout. Sorry for the inconvenience .
hi. @Grimdark Compendium I tried my new washes yesterday. the models are still wet after 24 hours drying. I mixed the brown wash good and not sure wat i did wrong. please help.
Ya I’m in Canada paid a lot for the 10 bottles I got but man been following Zat since the early days and would trust nobody in the Grim Dark world more. Happy to pay for a premium product.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a European distributor? It's not so much out of outrageous international shipping but due to bloodthirsty and arbitrary taxes for customs (on top of VAT)
@@GrimdarkCompendium awesome!!! I will try to get some friends into a common order, but sadly they are more into boring colorful "box art" rather than grimdark
