You can't grow banana trees in pots. It needs to be planted in the ground to grow big and tall

This porbably depends on the conditions you have. Personally, I think they can do pretty well in pots, especially with the right care and soil. I had some bananas planted in the ground in my yard and they were very unhappy in the clay soil, they're doing much better in pots. Interestingly, like bamboo or mint, they can get out of control with pups in the ground if you're not careful!

I’m Indiana, they have to grow in pots so they can be taken in for winter. The guy I got them from been growing and selling pups in Indiana for years. They get about 16 feet
