I love how mellow this dude is, then on top of it he has multiple instruments, synths, and a drawing tablet. He’s obviously competent with the synths because the music is bumping in these vids. This is a very interesting person, and he chooses on top of all of his talents to speak on canned fish. Mind blowing.
I was thinking the same, I had zero interest in sardines whatsoever a few days ago. Stumbled acrossed his channel I became interested in his humor and genuine attitude. And now I'm thinking of trying sardines its been two days lol

Spending $19 dollars on a can of sardines, and they don't even give you the bones? That's like spending a fortune at a fancy steakhouse, and they don't even give you a hoof.
I was eating sardines before, I love oil fish like salmon and tuna but I'm also poor so sardines are a good alternative, but he's really opening my mind to different brands/styles and taught me a ton about the varieties out there.
I have always wanted to try a kipper, maybe because of that Fawlty Towers episode. Noticed a tin at the supermarket, bought it. What do I do with it? Ask RU-vid. And then I discovered Canned Fish Files with a bloke reminiscent of Weird Al. A really niche channel. I have subscribed and am now a fan. Of videos about canned fish. Who woulda thunk it. I don't eat sardines, or even fish or seafood in general, but this guy popped up on my feed and I watched a video. Then I watched a few more, for what reason, who knows. Now that he's given me the line, "dig that, you freak", I'm hooked. I have to subscribe now.
I love your RU-vid channel. I can't believe you don't have more subscribers. I just came back from a trip to Japan. They have so many amazing canned fish products there. I was in heaven. I filled almost an entire checked suitcase with canned fish souvenirs and almost all of them were confiscated by airport security. Mostly because they were packed in miso paste which has tight export controls but there were other reasons too. Devastating! Anyway I hope you keep making great videos, thank you for everything.

Those look like the deenz I found in the back of my cupboard that I bought in 2018 for £0.40 from Aldi. Two large pilchard sized sardines in sunflower oil. I felt like eating some out of date food and these were fine grilled with a squeeze of lemon, some cracked pepper and buttered bread. Great prepping food, they can be eaten years after their best before date.

@@EndoliteM4trix I just use a sharp butter knife and scrape the scales off. I thought I wouldn't like Trader Joes but they're not bad for the prices and even this guy likes the brand and he tends to be picky.

I've been eating sardines for a while now and always used a fork. After seeing you use chopsticks. I gave it a shot. And let me tell you. Chopsticks are the way to go. Thanks!
I must be a psychopath as I prefer the bones I.e. spine, all up in they thang. When I buy canned salmon I want all the skin, bones, cartilage, and all of that super wombat healthy fish goodnesses. But I’m crazy. That way. Mahalo oh great sardine overlord!

I don’t even like canned fish. I like sushi but that’s not the point i never looked up this man’s videos and one day this just popped up on my feed and now I’m watching this man’s videos every morning before work please tell me I’m not the only one

It's kind of depressing since i grew up in a major seafood region (near Seattle) and for my grandparents and parents salmon was so cheap it was like how some people view bologna or spam, when my parents were my age bars would give out fried oysters instead of peanuts because they were cheap, and when my parents and grandparents were young tuna and salmon in your lunch box marked you as poor or too lazy to make a fancier sandwich. Even when i was growing up the price was higher but salmon and tuna were both really affordable, sometimes close to the price of chicken or pork. Now it's wealthy people only or a special occasion kind of food. Sardines scratch that same fatty fish itch ive got and they are super healthy and affordable. Also I'm stealing that "food that a peasant can afford, that even a king would enjoy" line.
@@StudioCraftHQ So far, it's my favorite country that I've been too! Matthew was right too.. I didn't have any time for tinned fish cause I was eating as much fresh sushi, ramen, and curry as I could get my hands on! I really want to go back one day.
