It was confirmed in an earlier demo Modern Sonic and Omochao lines have both been redone (with Modern Sonic from the little I heard in said demo sounding like a really rough impersonation of a higher pitched Ryan Drummond) and a few early images confirmed different cutscene angles. EDIT: Disregard my earlier point at your discretion. I've been trying to find one of the cam recordings of an earlier demo where I saw some comments mentioning the vocal direction to no avail, so maybe I was hearing things.

6:00 the classic characters can actually talk as seen in idw (which is confirmed cannon.) it’s just that they don’t have classic sonic talk in the games for some reason

It’ll make sense for Infinite to be in the game since Sonic has 3 rivals, metal sonic (well classic sonic), shadow, and silver. So Shadow having Sonic, Mephiles, and infinite would have to make sense.

I really do hope the game gets a redub, sonic generations has the most "nothing" story of any sonic game. Even stories like forces that are universally hated, at the very least there's SOMETHING to say about it. Anything they change will automatically make this story better to be honest.

The cutscenes are already confirmed to have the animation changed The most notable change is a screenshot of the sonic birthday scene with chao added, but in a lot of the white space cutscenes they have new camera angles

izuka said essentially the same thing what?? they both said it could be around the same length as gens, but izuka put emphasis on it possibly being shorter, and nakamura put emphasis on it possibly being as long as the base game, but they both said "around the same length, maybe a bit shorter."

I would either want: classic tails and classic Eggman to be muted or give classic sonic voice lines. It’s dumb to have some classic characters talk and some don’t. When the modern ones ALL talk.

i think shadow will end up being the longer story mode because the stages are way longer and have way more paths which could result in repeats for the collectibles and also the hub of sonic generations is only a level select while the shadow one is a full open zone full of collectables and secrets

I hope they don't ruin Infinite rival fight and don't do poorly remix of his theme. I also think that mysterious character will probably be revealed after the Dark Beginnings last episode. I be shocked if Infinite is that mysterious character.

with the rewrite and the lore team, this could have incredible changes in the future, they could rewrite forces, lost world and all that in future remasters so those story get better written and feel better in the overall sonic lore

I would honestly take the article about the game's length with a grain of salt because the time people take to complete a game varies a lot from person to person. Hopefully Iizuka was just saying it was shorter than OG gens to keep our hype contained in case the game doesn't live up to every expectation while also knowing Shadow gens is supposed to be the same length, but no one can really tell until the game comes out, So please October 22th, arrive already!

The length is ABOUT as long as the OG Generations; meaning that it is a little less than said Generations.

In the doom power trailer you can see one of those side missions if you pause the trailer on a certain shot. The game has side missions and the game has an open zone hub area which will probably have a lot of collectibles so there is a good chance that it is much larger than base generations

Assuming that this leak doesn't include the missions and hubworld stuff, then that's around three more levels left unconfirmed, with Westopolis probably being one of them. Hopefully Dragon Road and Asteroid Coaster are among them.

i have a feeling the cutscenes are redone due to the new lore it got ever since og gens now im pretty sure the lore is that classic sonic from gens isnt a different character, its just modern sonic but younger, and the sonic from mania and superstars is indeed just modern sonic but younger so i think theyre trying to bury the hatchet that says that we have a split timeline perhaps theyd remove that scene with classic sonic in the end and maybe he would just disappear or something idk

I'm excited to finally continue Shadow's story after all these years. I'm a Sonic lore fanatic. Aside from all that though the one thing I was hoping for was a complete rewrite of Generations. The story, the dialogue, all of it. The original was pitiful at best. I liken it to a "beach episode" in a modern anime. Despite having perhaps the most arguably threatening villain in the series, the Time Eater, they don't do anything interesting with the idea and is dispatched as quickly as it was introduced. I'm hoping the rumors are true and Ian Flynn is at the helm once more to show them how it's done.

Black Doom always had the ability to create illusions. One of the levels in Shadow 05 on the ark was in fact Black Doom showing him the events. There was even a cutscene how he does that.

This is not the first time I've heard story alterations for this. That said, I will assume I will get the same story for base Generations.

I wish I could say they weren't gonna do the same voice direction that Frontiers had, but considering Sonic had that same tone of voice in Dream Team-- A game with the EXACT OPPOSITE tone that Frontiers had-- I'd say it's unfortunately inevitable. Sonic Team definitely needs to hire a new voice director...

The only official classic sonic protaganists are sonic, tails, amy, and knuckles, and the only ones that were in a game WITH speaking roles was sonic and tails, and that was just this game. There's no reason to believe they would remove tail's voice, unless you're talking about superstars, which didn't have ANY voice lines.

im pretty sure the redub of generations is to make generations more consise with some retcons, i have a firm belive classic sonic will no longer br a past version of sonic but take the forces route of being a different dimention sonic, the story will likely have all the text bubbles rewritten to aling with shadow generations. i dont think is going to be anything major, but i do belive they are rewritting for the sake a continuity

Developers always include all content when they discuss the length of their game. Even if it's optional, they want to advertise the maximum playtime possible on a playthrough. Shadow Generations will be slightly shorter than Sonic Generations since I doubt there are 9 zones, probably 6 or 7 - this the number of challenge acts will be lower. The levels themselves being quite a bit longer on average and a greater focus on story, lore and open zone hub will help balance things out, but it'll still be a bit shorter overall.

They need to hire Jaleel White to voice Classic Sonic. That man is the only cannon voice for Sonic in my mind. Same as how Mark Hamill voice is cannon for the Joker.

My concern over their statement of the game length for Shadow will be a little less than Sonic is ambiguous. Are they talking about stages or completion time? The 3D levels for Shadow seem longer so hoping the 2D levels aren't like some cyberspace levels and only a minute.
