The programming of the game with the dolls is really ahead of its time. There wasn't really Bluetooth connectivity like that back in the day. So the fact that it worked *somewhat* perfectly is a great effort.

oh my god this unlocked a memory. when i was a kid, my cousin had these dolls, and i was absolutely TERRIFIED of the DW doll because little baby me was afraid of dolls with yarn hair
I remember getting Arthur plush with a "book kit" in elementary school (basically the plush, Arthur's computer disaster book, and the Living Books game) the problem was it was 2010, and the voice box was absolutely fried. It sounded like he was suffocating when I showed him off in show and tell. And I never got another book kit again.
This is genuinely impressive, how'd they get the doll and game to communicate so well? (they also apparently had special vhs tapes of episodes of the show they could interact with)
I actually do remember watching a little bit of _Arthur_ back when I myself was a kid. Honestly, I think you should make a full video talking about why you’re a huge fan of the show.
I absolutely love how gleeful you are playing games with the Arthur doll, but I also gotta say that I love your wife's Smart Doll collection in the background and I kept getting distracted by it XD
Okay; I saw the DW plush in the episode video and then did a back binge to find when she introduced and couldn't find it, but it just hadn't happened yet. That's a relief.
This is legit cool, I like the back and forth between program and plushie, even cooler that the games recognizes who is linked to it. It would be cool to see something like this for this generation of games. Also that ending. *Chef's kiss*

Pheebs is the reason I went on Ebay and got one of those beady-eyed Arthur plushies few months ago. I also already owned a musical DW plush long ago, one day it was losing battery life and that was fun
Seeing the Mr. Beast meme in one of these videos wasn’t too out of left field, considering it was a meme, but seeing Arthur vs. Arnold by Epic Rap Battles of Cartoons gave me actual whiplash

Oh, not only did Microsoft make ActiMates toys for Arthur and D.W., but also Barney (the purple dinosaur), and the four Teletubbies (Tinky-Winky (Purple), Dipsy (Green), Laa-Laa (Yellow), and Po (Red)).
I don't know why the Arthur plushies don't have eye whites. It's always just a little black plastic bead making up each eye and nothing else. At least with Arthur, I understand that in the show when he's without glasses, his eyes are beady black dots. D.W. on the other hand, doesn't have a hint why.
This video unlocked a whole section of childhood memories I had forgotten about. I had a stuffie similar to this that was Barney. I wonder if you could find him too.
