There is also a series of scammers in TZ that scam through phone calls pretending to be call center, never continue that convo cause call centers only call through 100 and not any other number, and others send texts pretending to be a friend or relative asking you to send cash, or actually call you on a business proposal about some lucritive deal.

The government of Tanzania did not scam you, the school did. Tanzania's Immigration website clearly defines the parameters for applying for a student visa or student pass, the school was hoping that you would have blind trust in them; they scammed you and you need to report them to the appropriate Tanzanian government office.

What I would suggest is that you contact Tanzania's Immigration office yourself and ask for a list of government approved language schools in Dar es Salam. Once you know which schools are approved, you can then contact them or go to their websites to view prices.

Eddie did you Contact The US Embassy regarding this Situation? I Ask bec it Seems appropriate to do so & if not, why? Other than That! Great Vid & Keep Your Foot on They NECKS!!!✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
@nleddie
@nleddie 2 года назад
I did not contact embassy. Main reason being they don't do much for our people. There was black man named Timothy reed murdered in Columbia. the Columbian police did not want to investigate his death and refused to ship Him back to the states . The us embassy did not pressure them to investigate the death or even bring the body back. a utuber named (dcbornrob) had to actually begin making videos telling people to reach out the the sentars of the state the man was born to actually bring about some change. Even that was slow, but eventually things got rolling. Also Just the other day another back women was physically attacked by airline workers while trying to leave Spain channel called (goodenergi) embassy said nothing they can do. She had to get her subscribers to tweet and messy the company to get the results she was after. Even looking at afghan there are still 1500 Americans stuck there the best thing the us government could do was give a list of there names and locations to the Taliban. But definitely I think as of now the best thing I can do is to bring about awareness.

With Tanzania nothing NOTHING is as simple that. You must know someone who knows someone. This determine the price the speed the attitude basically everything. Even something as simple as buying vegetables you go by yourself and get one level of price service and attitude. You go with a local and you get a whole nother

@@nleddie go back to the government of Tanzania's Immigration site, because you guys were already in the country, you would be applying for a student pass, not student visa, and the school has to be approved by the government. Yes, this is a scam, because the school should have indicated the difference in a student visa and student pass (student pass fee $200.00). There are approved Swahili language schools there. Furthermore, that school you applied to was supposed to give you a receipt as well as an admissions acceptance document that you would then have to submit to Tanzania's Immigration.
@AM-vw7dg
@AM-vw7dg 2 года назад
@@murk2002 yes, but these are schools approved by the government. Based off of the info Eddie is giving us, this was not an approved school because they should have told him he and his sister did not qualify for a student visa, but a student pass because they were already in the country.

I think there is a certain level of customer service, formality and promptness that perhaps isn’t available in Tanzania. While you may be well within your rights to voice grievance in this experience, I do worry about your making enemies when you’re so far from home. You are an outsider at the end of the day. Their cultural relativity may have you looking like the crazy/arrogant diasporas in town. People may be wary to transact with you. Be mindful.

Taken directly from The United Republic of Tanzania, Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration Services Department : "STUDENT PASS There are two categories of Student Pass which are: STUDENT PASS I This is issued to persons studying in approved training establishments including children of persons legally residing in the country who are above the age of majority. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT PASS ‘I’ Certificate of registration of institution/school Evidence of sponsorship/scholarship Evidence of enrolment Admission letter Joining instruction" If the "school" did not give you any of those aforementioned documents, they are a scam. There is a level of competence and professionalism that a learning institution must maintain in order to be approved by any government.

Apologies for this horrible scam that occured to your family. Please contact the US embassy in Tanzania. They also have an email. Add the group Team Tanzania on Facebook and tell them your situation if you would like by making a post or just simply post asking for the police station phone number and emails in Tanzania. Also contact the government business office. Like the one where people have to register a business. That's not a small amount of money to just dash weh.

In Tanzania there are no officials to complain to, as in the US. Most countries don’t have that resource. You are basically left to your own devices! Police are corrupt expect your to pay for their help and they don’t follow through! Lot of corruption in Tanzania! Forget about the US embassy! They are there taking space, they’ll say that they have no jurisdiction. So why are they there?!!
