Ubisoft is falling apart and the Monetization Director, Stevy Chassard, adds icing onto the cake by attacking gamers. Alyssa Mercante threatens SmashJT, and Godot's Community Manager destroys the brand's good will single handedly in a matter of hours. Erika Ishii has turned gamers against Ghost of Yotei. These people are so boring and I don't want to talk about them. Instead, I'll share of my rarest antique instruments that I've restored for usage in my game soundtracks.

This has to be one of the best ways to describe the woke, they ARE boring, because they are fundamentally short sighted and superficial, unable to see into matters more than skin deep. Hence why the stories and characters they make are so uninspirational.

okay now you are pretending to be levelheaded, like in your pathetic hit piece on concord, you know, the one where you pretend to be an adult, dressing up fancy and speaking like some kind of industry genius, Your insights on gamedev is not so much better. Your career resumes to literal shovelware worth getting laughed, just like that one kong game. Is not even the soulful kind of shovelware, your games are just a cash grab asset flip. At least concord was supposed to be the live service game without so much FOMO, way better than pumping crap fast to make quick bucks. And at least the concord director worked on Destiny back when Destiny was the best game ever, you just published shovelware for a console that was full of it. "Things are not doing great at home" Says the dude that was kicked out of volunteering, I used to be a volunteer myself and you need to be really effed up to be kicked, we would pick anyone no matter as long as you wanted to help, unless you were not in the right state to do so. "BUH MUH NEOFEMINISM" Either were a creep or your peers watched your hit piece about concord, probably called you out because I doubt how generous and beneficial can be to a community a man that cries over "FEMALE CHARACTERS with IDENTITY POLITICS" in a game. That's already pretty creepy and no wonder why women wouldn't want you around, but I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't called out for that, but instead for something *worse* , now that would be something interesting to dig up, *everything right at home?*

The reality is that these people are mere husk, trying to grasp at a sense of life to feel fulfilled, without a care in the world; not worthy of ours or anyones time really. And it’s shame that a lot of us have to go out of our way to talk about and engage with them because of the damage they have done to try to be noticed by the world. OH MY GOSH YOU PLAYED RED RIVER VALLEY!! I love that folk melody, I actually went and for my first composition did a whole arrangement of it into a big piano piece that tells a story. It started with a little 3-part thing I made in like 5th grade that's like 7 to 10 minutes total, but then in high school I went back to it and greatly expanded upon it afterward, especially after taking AP Music Theory and applying what I learned there, adding a lot more original stuff that's still similar-sounding. I utilized the Red River folk melody as a kind of running motif and did a lot of variations there. The piece could still use some refinement that I haven't gotten around to yet, but just suffice it to say I've taken a big liking to that folk melody since elementary school.

Something I have frequently seen with antique instruments is that the previous owner had replaced the gut strings that the instrument was designed for with steel strings which are much higher tension and cause the warpage issue you mentioned. I usually err on the side of caution and anything older than the 30s gets nylgut or nylon until I am absolutely certain it can handle steel strings.

Felt like I was listening to a Gun Smoke radio drama... Really interesting sounds. I have a small little lap harp and I have been trying to develop finger technique for it. Getting unusual instruments from the swap meet and getting them work, figuring them out are great ways to get your creative juices flowing. Looking forward to the documentary. And can't agree more, long term storage, supporting independent creators, personally I favor GOG over steam because I don't want someone to pull the plug on what I consider my property. But yes, right to repair, local parts, all of these things make the difference between a future and a footnote. There are many ghost towns from that era. It's easy to ignore the fact that we have short lived drives, with more data than we can print and few alternatives regarding long term life. All that's digital can easily be lost or be an acquisition away from Cease and Desist oblivion, like Amazon deleting 1984 from people's Kindle devices without notice. I won't be happy if I don't own anything, my person included.

fun fact, zither comes from greek kitara (kithara) and that is literally the origin of the word guitar. as everyone can see from playing it, variable zither is made to simplify learning to play, as making chords is a dexterity intensive while on variable zither you need to focus on plucking specific strings more then on chords. i actually saw you unbox that guitarophone on mountain home channel. please, do restore it. with a proper vocal escort, that should be a true one-man band instrument. something a traveling bard would carry so i could use specifics of mechanics and restoration for some rpg research. one of my regular players likes to play a bard. she loves complex instruments.

Can we just appreciate that this banjo building, apple ripping, Instrument restauring, game developing, RU-vid successor that just broke the broken wokys on walking by is just on the way to become more legend then doom guy? 8:00 Ach ja, und schöne Grüße aus Bayern 🙋

Yes. The digital space has become boring. Let's go ride motorbikes, go to the gym, practice MMA, go camping, go hunting, play music, build things, fix things, grow things, learn things, hangout with friends and family... the list goes on and on. I too am tired of these people who offer nothing of value. It's time to start disconnecting from the digital space and reconnecting with my community and the people around me. This dude has the right idea I think.

I'm 100% behind you on not wanting to talk about all the nonsense. There's already too much negativity in the world. If a person or company displays abject disrespect, I take note of it and just put them on my mental block list. I starve them of my attention and mindshare. I would much rather hear people talk about things they enjoy than hear people complain non stop. Despite the problems in the world, there are still many things to enjoy. I have music I enjoy listening to. Books I enjoy reading. Films and shows I enjoy watching. And video games I enjoy playing. Most of them are not modern, but I still enjoy them. I just recently discovered synthwave music and I am loving it. Already bought about a dozen albums off of bandcamp from these indie groups. I also started building model kits a couple years ago and it's so much fun. I really wish people would spend more time on things they enjoy rather than pn things they seemingly hate. Focusing on the negative is just exhausting.

Wow, model kits sounds like a great hobby. I haven't done that yet but I will try it in the future. What sort of models do you like to build? You know what is uniquely relaxing? Sitting outside on a sunny day and reading a book, or watching the wind blow through the trees as you enjoy a coffee.

@@sungrandstudios Gundam models are probably the most beginner friendly. I'd suggest Entry Grade kits. They are super cheap (less than $10US), easy to build and of surprisingly high quality. And you can go from there if you enjoy building, because a whole world of creativity opens up if you get into the hobby. It's a great hobby in an era when people have so little attention span. I can get absorbed for hours working on my customization projects. And it satisfies the need for tactile sensation in a world of digital entertainment where only your eyes and ears get attention. Working on something tangible with your hands I find is very important.

I highly respect the collecting, restoring and collecting instruments for future generations. No patting bright stickers and lights on them, or complaining about the problematic time period. We do have to address issues where others are buying up such instruments slapping spinners, neon signs and stickers instead of building from scratch, it is an issue ignoring it is what made it such an issue to begin with.

Pretty cool. I'm configuring a build from a Beretta 92x into Jill Valentine's Raccoon City Police Dept S.T.A.R.S. Kendō Custom M92X Samurai Edge Service pistol. Its been fun, practically buying a 92x twice. Related to gaming, not to the 2020s woke crap. I've wanted Jill Valentine's Samurai Edge since 1999. However her base pistol is a Beretta 92FS into M92F Samurai Edge in Resident Evil & Resident Evil³ Nemesis PS1 Games. I did 92x because it's simply a pistol more to my liking over 92FS.

It is really interesting how you can tell that "wild west" music was vocals / poetry first & then the music was written to match, vs modern music being about finding words to match a catchy beat.

One thing lost in the art of synth instruments now are people recording their own sounds. If you go back and listen to the early era of synth - Klaus Schulz from the 1970s and early 1980s or Steve Hillman from the early 1980s - the music was so much more rich and interesting, because they weren't using a sound sample catalogue. They were out there recording every sound, distorting every sound, without digital aid - and you hear it in the music. None of it sounds copy + paste.

Those forgotten instruments are pretty neat. There was actual “soul” put into making these instruments sing again. Perhaps with a similar resolve, we can see the passion for the art in modern entertainment return.

That godot thing was a shitty thing to do. Imagine being a godot dev, just minding your own business contributing to the gaming community. And then suddenly a creature of evil suddenly felt that you are offending their higher than thou toe. And that dev was booted. Imagine that.
