Yeah Millia's very much looks on purpose. I suppose it could be one of those cases of the characters are always looking in the same spot so they animated the intro accordingly. Very cool intro either way.

i love the fact that they animated this in a way that the animation can be seen both as a shoulder tap and little wave. that's incredibly smart and effective design

The Axl one makes it look like Chaos knew he was in the stopped time and would appear bewildering Axl, meanwhile Chipp's looks like Chaos was caught by surprise. Two sides to the coin I suppose. Full ignorance and full omnipotence.

Hard to say which is my favorite. Either it is the "Ram attempts to take out Chaos but misses" or Axl thinking he got the drop on his opponent, but Chaos still manages to sneak up.

It took me a second to realize but most characters actually look at Happy when he taps them. Axl looks surprised when he gets tapped which I find hilarious, and other character like Giovanna are just like “Oh there he is..”

I like how intro with Nago really puts this Shaqurai’s height into perspective. At the beginning it looks like HC is just far away, that is before he comes closer and you realize they’re one height while Nago sits… And then he stands up…
