Hey Ben_ again, I figured out the number puzzle you were struggling with. For the number puzzle think of 22 as 2 and 2. 2x2 =4. This is how we turn 22 into 4. So if we use this logic and know the answer is 9, 9 =3x3 so the room must be 33.
I actually thought about that one death scene from Resident Evil Village when I saw how Ao Oni kills the player in this game. You know, THAT one from THAT enemy .
Again, if you want a good Ao Oni that isn't the original, try Ao Oni R. It's basically an expansion on the original game, but with more locations, puzzles, actual story and means to save everyone... sometimes not obvious means, like doing some obvious conditions and then NOT checking on Mika screaming.
Okay, now I'm curious because my biggest problem with the original Ao Oni is that you can't consider the story to be a real story, it's just a "this happened and then this happened" kind of story. I like horror games with an interesting story, you don't even need to explain the monster, just give me a good story!
@@laraprisma6381 Yup. It doesn't exactly explain the monster, but it does explain why those kids entered that mansion in the first place, and why Oni are there.
@@Gizeh59 I mean hireups could have said that when he was showing the finished product or during development because typically hire-ups need to approve of a game so there isn't anything illegal in it.
@@NeilDegrasseTysonWithAKatana But since the rooms aren't randomly generated and the answer is always 33, that means that is the logic behind the puzzle. So whatever number is given has to be the multiplication of the same number with each other. So if it was 25, the answer would be Room 55.
@@allechcortes9097 It did. The example is exactly how the logic describes it. If the number is 4 then the Room is 22. 2x2=4. It didn't use 4x1 or 1x4, it used 2x2 to get 22.
@@allechcortes9097 The example told that if the room is 22, the clue is 4, not vice versa. I think that's intentional and means that one clue can point to multiple rooms.
For those curious what ya need to do in order to get the true ending (that is far from worth it) you need to complete every level deathless, get all notes, and find the 2 orbs, with a different bad ending depending on what you miss.
@@lunatic0verlord10 that teddy bear level is actually pretty easy to do deathless. it only screams when moving at a high speed. just throw it where it needs to be, crouch behind the barrels and your good to go. I'm pretty sure he just didn't take the time to figure that out(despite how easy it is to figure out.)
9:34 The math puzzle is actually pretty easy. Room 1 has the equation, 0*1=0, the 0 and 1, when put together, form 01, or just 1. For 4, the equation you want is 2*2, and when put together, that becomes 22. This is the exact same with 9. 3 * 3 = 9, with the left being put together to form 33. These also work since those are the only numbers you can multiply, other than 1 and the number, to get there.
@@AureliaAbao back in my school days we use x, but since there's the alphabet "x" and the symbol "x" is literally the same thing computer language uses * BUT THEN THERE'S ALGEBRA (which i loved honestly) that uses both "x" and “𝑥” like 4x2𝑥=16 that throws everything off the window
@@EricN64 if clue is 4, and it’s meant to be 22, then it’s 2 X 2. If clue is 9, then use the first clue to figure out what to multiply, then combine the 2 numbers you find
the number clue was multiplying. room 22 being 4 is because 2x2 = 4, and 33 being 9 is because 3x3 = 9 what that has to do with 0x1=0 i have no clue so maybe that's not what they intended but that's a clear pattern
The'res also a doom mod called "Ao oni doom" (how surprizing), being a recriation of the first ao oni game but... Well, in Doom, it takes a few creative liberties and adds a ton of eastereggs to play more in to the goofy side of the original game, its good chaotic fun if you got a few friends to play coop
it feels like the final chapter was made first and the other two were made under short notice- its a shame such a fun game is hiding behind so many boring levels, but im glad its given you some optimism for ao oni's future with litmus! i was starting to accept that there was nothing besides the original 3 versions that could come out and be any good, but seeing the final chapter has given me some hope as well :) thank you for covering the series closest to my heart
I feel like every time I see you've uploaded a video on an Ao Oni game, I get whiplash from trying to wrap my head around the fact that there's ANOTHER game. Great video by the way, I enjoyed it a lot especially the commentary, can't wait to see whatever's next.
This game screams of “I did the last map as the true 3D Ao Oni but then the higher-ups told me that the game needed to be longer so I put together some random assets to make new levels and called it a day”
I think the puzzles answer is finding what two numbers multiply to get the shown number and putting them in unison, for example 22 would be 2x2 = 4 and 33 would be 3x3=9
what are the ways to get revenge after your cousin traumatizes you by using ao oni when i was seven? yes i still have a grudge against him like i stated from the previous ao oni video.
@@JNJNRobin1337are you implying to traumatise them back by the same way but much much bigger?? Oh hohoh op should definitely do that (I actually don’t care at all)
Honestly I think the story of this game would be improved if they included more stuff about the sister becoming an Oni. Kinda like how Hiroshi’s friends got picked off and became Onis in the first game. I think it would have made it slightly more sinister and could have even played around with giving you false hope that she’s alive and that her and the Oni are separate beings.
I think they could have had the "chapters" be a part of the "end chapter." As I saw the first game, you had a the... Front mansion chapter Back-end mansion chapter Underground chapter prison chapter And finally, the escape chapter. Each one had their own puzzles to do and solve. Plus they cpuls have expanded on the lore as well.
For the wacky formula puzzle, it seems like it’s just that the 2 digits in the next room add up to your current room. 3x3 is 9, 2x2 is 4 and I’m assuming they considered room 1 as 01 and so 0x1 =0. A presumed starting calue
Honestly, I think it'd be neat to see a version of Ao Oni made to look like paper Mario, in a 2.5d style. Though they did copy and paste a lot of assets, it does seem like they did still make effective maps since it was still relatively easy to navigate around. The dev did very clearly care about this game, and it does show from what's shown. Here's hoping they give the dev a full team for the next one.
Honestly, we actually really need a proper 3D Ao Oni. Imagine if it had a big mansion full of very unique and recognizable rooms like the original Resident Evil. Honestly, I think that alone would make the game good even if the puzzles and gameplay themselves were bad.
My man released another banger. Keep going. As I am now advancing to another phase of my life, closer to professionalism, I know that Ben Again will still be here, posting some of my favorite content out there.
The formula takes the two digits of the room number and multiplies them together. Room 01 gives you 0x1 = 0. The "clue" here is the number to the right. As for the clue 9. There are only three possible rooms in this scenario as we don't have fractions. Room 33, Room 91, and Room 19. All those combinations give you the clue 9. I suspect only Room 33 actually exists in the level, but I will never check. If you look at the example, the clue is 4 and it's Room 22. 2x2 = 4.
i think the room number puzzle had something to do with perfect squares, so for example, if the clue on the wall was 4, you would find the square root, 2, and then add a second 2, making 22 for the room with the 9 on the wall, the square root of 9 is 3, add another 3, and you get 33
Soeaking of Ao Oni... looks like the original game is getting an official remake now. I just checked on Steam, and the Switch Eshop. It's there, simply titled AoOni. Like it's one word. Oddly enough though, it actually looks pretty damn faithful to the original. It's scheduled for release on 7/26. This week. Can't say I saw that coming. From what I can tell, it might be made by Litmus. The same folks that created the mobile sequels. It's definitely a step up from their previous work, I'd say. Judging from first impressions!
Soooooo, apparently Ao Oni is coming to the Nintendo Switch and to Steam on July 26th... ...With new content too? Hopefully we'll get a video for that! Even if it's a shorter one.
if I had a nickel for every time there was a horror game franchise that refused to die and also had a purple humanoid as one of if not the most well known characters, I'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice.
The room you didn't get was because the answer was the square root in both cases 2*2=4 3*3=9 As soon as I saw 9 that was my guess (33) after seeing that 4 was 22 But the equation they gave 0*1=0 is such a horrible clue, it should have been 1*1=1, or something like 4*4=16. The 0*1=0 clue genuinely made me doubt the answer was 33 after seeing 9 until you confirmed it lul
I know noboday cares, but World of Warships collab with Azur Lane is the funniest shit ever. Imagine someobdy being like "ugh, I wish Azur Lane has less Anime girls and more SHIPS!!"
Alright, here's my theory on Chapter 2.6. Here's what we know: If the Clue is 4, the Answer is 22. If the Clue is 9, the Answer is 33. Now. I have NO IDEA what this could be, especially with the weird-ahh text. But I DID see a formula that could work: √C as a digit, repeated twice. This makes no sense, yes, but it IS the only thing I could think of.
With the derivate clue, it was referring to what numbers you can multiply together to get the number it shown before putting the two derived numbers together. For example: 4's derivations are 1 x 4, 2 x 2, and 4x1. As for the 9, the only derivations are 1 x 9, 3 x 3, and 9 x 1 so the answers for it are 19, 33, or 91 And what it meant by the formal 0 x 1 = 0, is any of the answers containing 1 was wrong or 0 leaving your only answe 33
I legitimately thought that at the sponsor segment 1:19 Ben was going to say “I would like to thank todays sponsor gamer sups” I was not expecting world of warships 😂
The red clue numbers painted on the walls in 2-6 reminded me a lot of 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. 1) really good game to cover for a future video, Ben, along with the rest of the Zero Escape games. 2) I would LOVE one for of these 3D first person indie horror games to take inspiration from that, chasers and such downplayed in favor of making the puzzles into full on escape rooms with multiple layers of complex puzzles.
So I might be late to the party and completely off, but it seems like if 4 = 22 and 9 = 33, then it might be a case of finding the square root? the square root of 4 is 2 and so 2x2 = 4 and if you removed the x it becomes 22? and the same's the case with 9 and 33? I could be totally wrong, but that's what came to mind when you talked about it
